It was awesome. The table side guacamole was incredible!
Our server Napoleono was incredible. Extremely attentive, and kind. Thank you for an exceptional evening!
We ate here before the NY Philharmonic and had a wonderful experience. The entrance was a bit chaotic with all the customers entering at once. But the restaurant had a cool, funky ambiance. Table side guacamole was fantastic and was a generous portion as was the smoky salsa. Tortilla chips tasted freshly made. The frozen pomegranate margarita was excellent. Nice balance of sweet and tart and enough tequila to know it was there but not too strong either. My carna asade had an excellent marinated smoky flavor. Mole sauce was very authentic with that actual chocolate like richness. Our waiter was fabulous and did a hood job educating my curious 8 and 10 year old about where and how avocados grow. They also have a kids menu, something which seems rare at nice Manhattan restaurants and that was much appreciated, especially the scoop of ice cream.
We enjoyed the food, it is a very attractive restaurant and the service was fine. However, it's not quiet. The restaurant has carpeting and light-weight curtains and tablecloths, which should help cut noise, but it was a very loud scene for a Wednesday evening at 6:30. For the first half-hour we were close to shouting just to make ourselves heard. It then got better. They could probably use heavier curtains or sound attenuation panels.
Guacamole lumpy and not prepared at the table. Waiters seemed to be overworked and only came to the table on few occasions making us wait for our orders.
Always love dining here - food is fresh and excellent. Drinks are outstanding, try the cocojito!
This SoCal girl loved this Mexican restaurant. The freshness of the guacomole was like they made it right in front of you, which they did. Loved the tres enchiladas , the mole sauce was very rich. The spicy mango margarita went down nicely. The entire experience was just perfecto.
Noisy. Food good.
Always a pleasure eating at Rosa, can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.
This is our favorite Mexican restaurant. The food, the margaritas, the guacamole and the service are far superior to any other Mexican restaurant. No matter what we’ve ordered to eat, we have never been disappointed. There are many entrees to choose making it difficult as everything is delicious.
Rosa Mexicano is a nice mexican/ tex mex restaurant but you don't really get what you pay for. The drinks are great, the deserts are fantastic. But the entrees while good are comparable to any other good mexican restaurant. But at 2 to 3 times the cost. The service is great, the table side guacamole, is very good. But I would say this meal for my family of 5 easily cost $100-120 more than an equivalent meal at a local restaurant. If you go, get the guac and get the tres leches!
Everything was delicious. The margaritas are made perfectly. We had guacamole , which is made tableside. Very good (though it could use some more salt and some lime, IMO.) Empanadas were OK- I've had much better, but the entrees were delicious. The tres enchiladas came with three different sauces, and the pork carnitas were cooked to perfection. The waiter brought us churros with chocolate & raspberry dipping sauces, and they were the best churros I've ever had. Really great meal.
For a chain this is a very nice option. I like the one in DC a bit better, but for NYC this is an excellent choice.
The food was incredible as usual!
Very nice. Good service. A little pricey and loud.
Food and service were fantastic. A bit noisy, but that's a Mexican restaurant! Lots of fun, great food and cocktails to be had here. Loved it.
The guacamole is never spicy enough here. The pork is delicious. The service should be faster.
I have always been a great fan of Rosa’s but this experience was disappointing . The server was taking drink orders while half of the guests were not quite settled. After feeling rushed then the service became slow. When the food finally arrived it was tepid in temperatures and the chicken was dry and tough. The churros we ordered for dessert were raw. Finally the room temperature was so cold we were eat with our coats on. Would not return to this Rosa Mexicano any time soon. Love the location on First Avenue .
Tasty menu choices for quick pre-opera/ballet dinner.
Great food great drinks really good for date nights.
The food was great, and the service was even better. We were treated exceptionally well. The Guacamole was great, table side. Everyone enjoyed their dinner.
Great staff. Very attentive and the food was great.
Maxing food and service
I had a reservation with my fiancé here for Valentines Day and we enjoyed it. The staff was very attentive and the food was good.
For the first time, was very disappointed in the food at Rosa Mexicano Lincoln Center. The pork shank was dry and flavorless, the chile relleno tasted off (perhaps the goat cheese wasn't at its best), and the rice and beans on the side featured undercooked rice that was literally crunchy. The hostess was very nice, but our waiter wasn't the most friendly.
This is the second time I've been there, and I still like it. Food is good and drinks are good and staff is super friendly. It was a bit noisy, but it is a huge space and there are a lot of large groups that come here.
Haven’t gone in years and I just remembered why. Really poor quality food... but good margaritas. Won’t be going back.
Food was great. They really understand gluten free.
Great guacamole! Fresh made table side.
