Rosa Mexicano by Lincoln Center Ratings and Reviews
I had a good time at Rosa Mexicana. The food was good, our server was excellent and we were seated superfast with a reservation. the prices are a little high for some food. The drinks were also very good and our server made some good recommendations. The chocolate cake was more like ganache and I loved every bite. I would warn anyone who is going and can't handle dark lighting (the lighting there is a very pretty blue) that reading the menu could be challenging.
Good location for pre/theatre dinner if going to Lincoln Center. Tables for 2 are small and set very close together. Service is attentive but a little rushed, food is good, very energetic noise level makes conversations difficult--not a place for relaxed dining.
We've been going to this restaurant for several years and is easily one of our favorites in the area! The staff is friendly and the ambience is vibrant. Definitely recommend the tableside guacamole. It is also an excellent stop for just margaritas and churros (which we have also done)! Everything on their menu though is delicious.
I was worried about being late for the opera ,but RM RM RM made sure I got out in time for my opera. I was worried because they were SOOo busy with a 1 1/2 table wait. Tres Enchiladas. Great mole sauce. I would ALWAYS get a reservation. RM is very popular but I WAS able to call in the same day and ask if I could come 30 minutes later. No problem. Best thing. Just call ahead. They will accommodate you. The table next to me had a great looking sangria and cheese in a skillet.
I usually eat here every time I come to NYC at Lincoln Center or uptown. Food is always great here. Good taste. Good presentation, great help. Manager personally escorted me to the elevator since it was down a hall.
Rosa Mexicana never disappoints. It's so festive and pretty. We always go upstairs and see the wall mural w the divers and view Lincoln center, directly opposite. I loved my Chille Poblano Relenyo (sp?), perhaps the best I ever had, and my husband's dish was equally good. My sangria was good and their table made gucamole is delicious, although I skipped it this time as I'm trying to lose 5 lbs. Can't wait to go back. Also the restaurant texted me to see if anything could be improved. I couldn't think of anything. The staff always is welcoming and wants you to have a festive time.
I have been going to Rosa for over 10 years. It was one of my favorite Mexican restaurants. The last 2 times the 4 of us were disappointed in the quality of the food. This last time it was bland, and of poor quality. The marguerite's were tasteless and very watery. There were 4 of us, who all agreed with what I have written. As a matter of fact, we agreed after this last meal we were eliminating Rosa from our restaurant list. Sorry! What happened to quality ??
Ambiance was pretty nice, but most important the food was amazing. I ordered the grilled shrimp entree and the ceviche appetizer. I was very satisfied with both. I also enjoyed my drink, a hibiscus iced tea (non alcoholic). They have great alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. I look forward to trying the rest of the menu.
With our Open Table reservation we were seated immediately. Very cool lobby waterfall creates a fun ambiance. Very noisy but the noise helps drown out the conversations from the closely placed tables. Food was good and nicely presented. Service was excellent.
We had nice lunch as family after seeing a show at Lincoln center. Food was pretty good and everyone was happy; drinks were superb. But our server Jorge made our dining experience most special. He was so attentive and despite his foot injury, he was working very hard! Thank you for making our dining so memorable!
Great restaurant! We don’t live local to this restaurant so we make sure when we are in the area to make a reservation. Speaking of reservations, our reservation was at 6:15, but we got there quite a bit earlier and they got us in! The decorations are very nice with a picturesque wall full of little diving men. I would really recommend the guacamole. They make it right in front of you which is nice to watch and enjoy. They also have great gluten free options including all the chips, tacos, quesadillas, and even some desserts. I also enjoyed the margarita! I would definetely recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area.
Ate at Rosa Mexicana before a performance at Lincoln Center. Everything was quite good, starting with the drinks and guacamole made tableside. Most things were a bit spicy for my 80 year old mother but the rest of us found it mild enough. Location is great. I would not head up to this area just to go to this restaurant, but for a very good pre-opera meal, it was just right. Will definitely be back.
Not very many restaurants for pre-theather dinner in the Lincoln Center area. Rosa Mexicano is always a good choice! Very good food and service. We were there for my Birthday dinner and all was very good. They also have updated their menu with some interesting new choices. We will be back!
The first thing I have to state is from the moment you arrive the staff are absolutely fantastic. Next to the open staircase to the second floor dining room is a wonderful waterfall with cliff divers all lined up in various positions as they "fall" towards the waters below. There are a lot of agave cocktail options and fresh guacamole can be prepared at your table to your level of spice. The menu options are themselves varied and all excellent.
