My 50th! Was so much fun and delicious!!
Fun vibe! Great drinks & food was delicious!
Great place for a large group get together.
Solid rosa mexicano experience
Friendly helpful staff
Rosa Mexicano is a an amazing restaurant. The staff are nice, there is an amazing ambiance especially when you go during the evening. The food was quick and delicious. Would recommend for a date night or a family night out. Great location for walking around the seaport area pre or post meal.
The soup was cold, service was so so and prices were high.
Noisy. Tables too close together. (And a loud talker next to us). Food was so-so. Sat us close to door, which is fine, but cold night in Boston. Hostess did a poor job telling people to keep door closed while customers peered outside looking for their uber to arrive (should be common sense by hostess. Windy, cold night. Wind blowing in like crazy). Dumb dumb.
As busy as this restaurant was, it was surprising to see so few staff/waitresses. We were seated and weren't served drinks for roughly 15 mins. After which our server only appeared to check on us every 30 mins after that. Food was good but was hard to enjoy being that we couldn't get drinks refilled quick enough and couldn't get servers to come around to our table. The 2 seater tables are long and skinny, meaning you have to sit miles away from your date and practically scream at each other. Not a place I would recommend for anyone unless you are planning to go eat with someone and not talk to each other.
Food is good. There wasn’t a wow factor or anything that impressed me on the menu that made me want to come back soon. But it is worth the visit. Service is great and fast!
great food, good (but very overpriced) margs
Went here previously for restaurant week and decided to come back and try other menu items as we were very satisfied during restaurant week. Cocktails taste very nice although maybe a tad overpriced. The food is certainly upscale mexican and did not disappoint. Our entrees were delicious but the star is certainly the guacamole and chips. I have never had guacamole this good (I usually do not eat it as in many places you can tell it came out a can or is just avocado mashed up). Made right in front of you with many additions to it to season and taste, a must have. We shall be going back and that appetizer will be ordered.
We had a very enjoyable high end Mexican meal. The waitstaff is very attentive and the food arrived fast (though not pre-made too fast) and was delicious. We enjoyed the decor and the ambiance.
I made an 8:15 reservation for my husband & I to celebrate his birthday. We got to the restaurant early, the Host/Hostess told us our table would be ready around our reservation (we expected this) and proceeded to the bar. As we got closer to our reservation time, my husband went back to the Host/Hostess and checked in again to ensure we wouldn't be overlooked. While waiting we noticed at least 6 parties come in after us, some without reservations as we heard them put their names in, but yet they were seated before us. (We could see open tables for two.) It's now almost 8:30 and we still hadn't been seated; we weren't even acknowledged. My husband went up to the Host/Hostess, for the third time, to ask about our reservation. Suddenly a table appeared and we were brought to the back of the restaurant where it was freezing! The food was OK and over priced. We finished our meal and asked for the check. The waiter came back saying that it was our Anniversary, it was not, it was my husband's birthday - which I explained to him. He said that dessert was on them for the occasion but we didn't want dessert and just wanted to leave at this point. We literally waited 30 minutes for our check, mind you we had to ask him more than once for it. It was so bad that we could have left and nobody would have even noticed - we clearly were invisible! I will never go back here nor will I ever recommend this place to anybody. The way this place treated us was wrong and ruined my husband's birthday dinner! Giving them one star is far too generous.
Great food, great service, awesome margaritas and really like the atmosphere, They have a cool waterfall wall the the kids really liked
An outstanding selection of local Mexican dishes from various places around the country, coupled with excellent drinks and fresh guacamole mixed at the table - Rosa Mexicano is a prize addition to the Seaport District. It's a trifle loud, and there's an annoying habit of turning the lights low - sometimes too low to read the menu! - but the food is worth the inconvenience. At the busiest time service can be a little slow, but it's all freshly prepared and tastes superb (and authentic). Recommended.
Excellent Mexican food - very unique dishes. Great Margaritas too! The service was excellent and very friendly. Highly recommend.
Server was nice ,atmosphere was amazing ,the valentines decorations were perfect the food was delicious..could’ve done better service but overall it was good
Love the one in NYC. This one was nice and the staff was great. Drinks, chips and salsa were good but The food we ordered for dinner was awful. Very disappointed because the NYC restaurant is always amazing.
Won’t be going back unless it’s just for drinks and chips.
The food was mediocre at best. They sit you on top of each other. The salsa had little flavor. The iced tea had zero flavor. My enchiladas had a very strange taste to them. For the money not worth it.
This place was great and also has a good view of the seaport. The service was good and the food was what sold us. I would recommend it to friends and family.
Everyone thoroughly the dinner - from the drinks to guacamole made table side to their entrees & lastly, the churros!! Wish we had a bag of churros to take home with the divine raspberry sauce!!!
It was great! Service was great, didn’t have to wait for a table on a Saturday night, food was great, and reasonably priced!
This was my first experience. Food was great. Service was excellent. But,except by the time they brought the guacamole dinner was served. I was slightly disappointed that they didn't play Spanish music while we dined. Mexican restaurants should play mariachi music. Over all it was a great birthday location. We had fun!
Great! Food and service awesome!!
Overrated and overpriced. The menu offers a variety of options that sound interesting, but the quality does not meet the menu's description. I've given this place a number of tries and despite quality service and a nice ambiance, the place is simply overrated and overpriced.
Amazing all around
Good service. Food was good . Slightly overpriced.
The space could be more intimate, but food and service were great.
The table side guacamole order was great! It took a very long time for our server to take our order (I could see him socializing with the hostess) and at the lunch hour when everyone orders water it should be a sign that it’s a business lunch that needs to move quickly. I ordered the salmon salad, which I usually love and it was terrible. No flavor, and the tortilla strips were soggy. It tasted like it was dressed with water and had sat out for an hour. 6 months ago I ordered this salad and loved it, so obviously something has changed (the chef? The recipe?) I could not complain or send it back because it was a business lunch and it would not have been appropriate. That dish should be removed from the menu!
Food was delicious!
The table side Guacamole was average at best (way to many onions, and tomatoes, not creamy at all, and medium spicy was very very spicy...and I like spice.) Kayla salad was 90% spinach, and carnitas was more like shredded pork. Very disappointed all in all. Now I understand why the lighting was so dark...they don’t want you to see what your eating.
great spot to celebrate bday parking is expensive but the food is amazing
Great, authentic mexican food. Our waitress was really helpful in suggesting her favorites. It was quiet early on a weeknight but I know it gets really busy later and later in the week and weekends.
Service was great! Food amazing. Atmosphere comforting. A must go!!
Too many kids. Just didn’t expect it reasonably late, and service was terrible. Good food though.
Wife, myself, and our two daughters (9 & 11) were out and about and decided we were in the mood for Mexican. Very impressed with the flavors, we all made a point to order something we hadn't had before, and none of us were disappointed. The guacamole was also amazing. Loved the decor for dia de los muertos.
Just ordinary. Overpriced for what it is, aspires to more but doesn’t deliver.
We got seated right away. The server gave us a great recommendation on cocktails and they were delicious. A bit spicy but perfect combo with the meal. They make the guacamole right in front of you and it’s by far the best guacamole I’ve ever had. Overall, great experience.
Carnitas dinner was very dry and bland. Disappointed with food as dinner was birthday dinner for my husband. Martini not good, but bartender was happy to make it better.
Overall really nice dining experience. Waiter was very friendly and attentive. Their margaritas are great! Food is pretty spicey so make sure to ask about how spicey your meal is before you order. Lighting is a little dark and the tables are kind of big for a 2 person so you have to speak loudly to have a conversation.
