Chips & Salsa
Crispy corn tortilla chips with zesty salsa norteña
It wasn’t very busy. But the service was very slow. I didn’t have my drink replenished nor did my water get refilled until halfway through my meal.
The table was dirty when we sat down- stuck on lettuce or cilantro that we got wipes to wipe off.
The guacamole was not great. The only flavor in it was onion. My carnitas was very dry. So overall not a great experience and I don’t need to go back.
sitting outside in the igloo eating, watching the people walk by was really cool and the service was great
"Authentic" Mexican is a stretch. Truly it is difficult to make bad guacamole but this place manages to do it! Everything needs more salt and seasoning and the time it took for the main course to arrive was unexpectedly long.
I will not be returning.
Food was good. Waiter was very nice and helpful with our dinner selections but service was very slow. The guacamole sat at our table for about 20 minutes while we waited to receive more chips. Magaritas were great!
After checking in 10 minutes early for our reservation we still had a 45 minute wait to be seated
Food/drinks were subpar at best, had to wait an hour after our reservation to sit.
Food was cold, undercooked octopus and over saturated with oil.
Service was almost nonexistent- had to ask multiple servers for a second drink before our server showed up.
Good restaurant and location. Food was good. Drinks were good. A bit on the pricey side. Overall pretty good though.
We were there 2.5 hours it took so long to get our food. The food was amazing, but it’s not worth waiting that long. We also had an issue with other customers basically running wild. Teenage girls that were taking their shoes off and walking around, taking up 2 tables but sitting all around one and basically yelling to the person right next to them. Then some of them took off across the road and came back in less clothing and appeared intoxicated. The restaurant “kicked out” a couple of them, but it would have been better for the whole restaurant if they made them all leave immediately.
After being seated promptly we waited for 20 minutes to be greeted by our server who told us that he already had 10 tables and manager asked him to take on our table as well.
We then proceeded to order our drinks and the first two drinks we requested he said they 86’d those off the menu because they didn’t have the right mixers for them.
(We requested a non alcohol iced tea and a mojito)
Our server told us He personally made our drinks because he feels he needs to be the bartender & server in Order to be effective.
After ordering our meals it took another 40 minutes for them to arrive. I was very surprised that the Tres Enchiladas ($23) did not come with any rice or beans. The food was Just slightly warm probably because it had been sitting there as we had already waited 40 minutes
I had the fish tacos , the fish was fresh but overall I was not impressed.
We really enjoy Mexican food and I was excited to try Rosa Mexicano based on other yelp reviews. Perhaps we went on a bad night , it was fairly busy and they were understaffed, however I will not go back to Rosa Mexicano and will stick to the trusted places I have gone to in the past.
The restaurant seemed dirty and the food was really average. My rice was hard and the fish tacos were cold with little taste.
I was turned away when I arrived to the restaurant
I could tell they were not prepared for a dinner crowd. It took us a long time to get seated because the hostess wasn’t there. Our waitress was good but she was obviously working too many tables at once. We saw the manager buy Trader Joe’s French fries. Food was pretty bad and overpriced. The soup is just flavored oil and everything is just priced too high. The margaritas are off in flavor and the staff looked stressed and confused.
Loved it will be back soon, loved the bartender and the creative drink he made for us
Loud and lousy services
Food and drinks were great! Only thing was service was a bit slow, but it was late at night.
Horrible experience with even worse service. We were waited 1.5 hours to eat. No one cared to help us or check in. The hostess refused to speak to us. Plus they clearly did not keep in mind someone in our party being vegan which was a mess. The food was all over cooked, dry, and cold. Would not recommend to anyone
Maybe it was a bad night but everything was off.
Hostess was rude, bossy with mask etiquete and 90 min maximum rule
Food came very late - we had 2 tables of people and 1 table ate and finished before the other got its food
I had to go to find manager 2x, first for the chips and salsa, second for main course
Job promotion and birthday celebration.
Terrible dining experience. The hostess was rude. The service was AWFUL. The meal took over 2 hours to eat with kids, we were ready to order as soon as we sat down. Food was so-so at best. I wouldn't go back.
Our server Greg made our entire night! Super friendly, had the best recommendations for a group of first timers. Will definitely be back!
We always have amazing service, food and drinks when we come. But I have to shout out the hostesses. They are the first impression of any restaurant and these girls are doing a great job. It was slammed and they were friendly and efficient. Thanks again!!!
The place is beautiful. Food was ok! We had a good night. Our table was booked for later but a very nice waitress had a chance to seat us earlier and we really appreciated that since it was very cold outside.
Desi is the BEST!!
Great atmosphere, even better food. Wait service was a bit slow but it was busy so it’s understandable. Lovely waitress. Didn’t feel rushed like some places during the pandemic.
Enjoyed the outdoor patio ambiance, food and service were great. The best part was how wonderful our waitress was accommodating our very energetic toddler!
Lovely place to go for a special dinner. 5 stars all around!
Service was really good but food took a long time. They were nice to change a dish that we had mis-ordered - that was pretty quick. My pork was really dry and tasted stale but the other dishes were good. Drinks were good. I'll go back but I might not order the pork shank again!
Upon entering the restaurant to check in there was a man arguing with the front check in. They did not pull the man to the side instead kept arguing with him and leaving the customers in a line to wait to check in. Upon finally being seated and ordered an appetizer which took 45 minutes to get to the table. Our entrees were served cold and not cooked the way we requested. The food was just not good @ all. Very disappointing for the price!
Rosa Mexicano was absolutely fabulous. Our server was so helpful and attentive, the margaritas delicious, and the food outstanding. The price was also very reasonable, especially considering it is in the center of Seaport activity. We had the guacamole, spicy tacos and octopus and shrimp ceviche. (I couldn’t decide, and the server offered that I could do a combo for just a few dollar more - he was awesome )
The food was delicious! We would love to come back.
First time here, the food was amazing. Our server Desi was one of the nicest, best servers we have ever had!
Waited 30 minutes past reservation time. Waited a long time for dinner. Was served my steak without a steak knife.
So disappointed, nothing like it used to be. It was bland, flavorless, skimpy on the portions and had nothing of the fresh, gourmet quality I recall from many years ago when I first experienced Rosa Mexicana in New York City. Seemed more like fast food style to me. The guacamole (which they used to prepare tableside and gave you options for heat level) was bland and the portion was tiny compared to what it used to be. Two of us had the fish tacos. I don't think there was more than 4 skinny inches of fish in each. One of us had a burger that was supposed to have chorizo on it - that was totally missing. This restaurant is officially off my list of options now, won't go back, totally not worth it. Sad to see this one slip so far off from where it used to be in terms of quality. Maybe the pandemic forced it to cut back to bare bones.
I had an amazing time at Rosa Mexicano, food was super tasty and the service we received was impeccable. I will definitely return very soon.
We arrived 10 minutes early and were sat almost immediately. First time visit but not impressed with the service and my meal came out wrong.
First, I had to waive down the waiter to ask about a couple of items on the menu. When I said we were interested in Bottomless Brunch, I was told that was not offered at this location. Perhaps and updated menu without that option would work better for this location. Secondly, when I reviewed the brunch menu and opted to have the flatbread topped with skirt steak, fried egg, salsa, queso fresco and guacamole. A gentleman who seemed to be a manager brought over our meals.
No where on the description of this plate did it say that the "flatbread" would be smothered with a black bean spread. My meal was also missing the guacamole and the queso fresco. A manager should know how the finished product should look when finished. Why would they add a black been spread throughout the flatbread? I did not eat it, it was removed from my bill but no manager approached me for the inconvenience of me having to sit there while my partner ate her meal. Disappointing to say the least. I don't feel comfortable recommending this location to any of my guests.
Seated 20 minutes late. Guac only came with veggies, had to pay $4 for cold chips? Margaritas were solid - only redeeming part. We decided not to order dinner. Lots of large parties (6-8) with no ventilation.
I loved their outdoor dining experience. I'm not comfortable eating inside until I get a vaccine. Staff were super clean and always wore their asks correctly. I was lucky to get an outdoor dome, that had a air purifier and heater. It was perfect!
Incredible fun waiter perfect 21st bday surprise experience 💓
