Chips & Salsa
Crispy corn tortilla chips with zesty salsa norteña
Terrible service! And the restaurant was near empty. Food was ok, but overpriced for what you got. Margaritas were nothing special. Don’t recommend, and I’m very forgiving….to a point.
Lovely service. Sat out on the patio with my little dog and they brought us water for him right away. They give you a large bottle of water on your table along with ice waters so outdoor dining is great (especially in the shade).
The staff were all very rude from the moment we got there - 3 members walked past my fiancé and I without acknowledging us until finally what looked like the manager came to greet us but rudely handed us over to the hostess. When we got to our table it was sticky and dirty so we asked the hostess to please wipe it down for us but she rolled her eyes and sent what would be our waitress to clean it. As the waitress cleaned the table, she stated the finish of the table was “tacky” and wouldn’t be wiped down completely and that we just had to deal with it.. we proceeded to place our drinks and food orders and we had to ask for straws twice before the waitress rolled her eyes and rudely threw them on our table. At that point we were over the service and two things were wrong from what we ordered but since we were already getting so much attitude from the waitress we just ate what we liked and left. Awful service from all of the staff.
Good friendly service.
Food was okay, but overpriced for the taste. Service was bad. Asked the waiter three times for a straw and never got one. We ordered the three course prix fixe and the waiter basically rushed the main course with no time between the first and main courses. Then we waited probably 30-40 minutes after finishing the main course for him to come and take our dessert order. All in all, negative experience.
Food was good but the service was terrible, with staff passing by our table every minute it still took 15 minutes to even put drink orders in, let alone any food. No one checked on our table without us flagging them down, and when it came time to pay server was rude and not helpful when contactless payment was not working and did not even attempt to help. Overall I enjoyed the food but would not return for dine-in service.
Usually love it but service was bad ( had to ask for water, drinks and then waited for check) even though it wasn’t busy.
Slow service and expensive for the low quality of food
Great all around until the drinks but it just depends on who makes them they took off the ones that were no good off the bill at least
Delicious Mexican food! Fresh, vibrant flavors. Outstanding service. Our first time but we’ll make a point of returning.
The setting is good and the menu too. The cuisine is a little hot for my taste in spice. But we will return.
One of the worst experiences at Rosa Mexicano…..will definitely stick to the DC location. They lost our reservation and didn’t bother to even seat us until 30 minutes later when I went to ask them. Not great service here whatsoever.
This was one of our first outings after the restrictions were lifted. It was nice to be out with friends and enjoy some nice Mexican food
We enjoyed our meal and service. We recommend visiting nthe restaurant.
The place was very unorganized and they close early
Waited one hour to get a table even after the reservation
Had a great meal
Went for post grad dinner, food and service were great
The restaurant was understaffed, but our server was very kind. Long waits for everything.
The service was terrible! It took FOREVER to get drinks and food. It was NOT busy at all. Some of the male servers are Extremely rude and it's clear no one wants to work. The food was subpar. The guac was flavorless and the salsa and chips needed salt. The drinks were ok definitely not worth 20 dollars a margarita.
Experience was poor it took forever to get drinks and food and by the time we got them food was cold and drinks werent frozen
Love Rosa! Always a great meal! Be patient as they are short staffed and everyone wants to get out but always worth the trip!
Our waiter seemed to be assigned to several sections and extremely overwhelmed. We didn’t see much of him for the first hour. The guacamole, salsa and chips - which was the only food we were able to get for more than an hour - were all very bland. I was eventually able to flag down the server for a salt shaker and also said “we’re looking for some heat” and he brought us six different salsas/ sauces to try which helped immensely. Just wish we had gotten them at the beginning!
Took 20 minutes to get our guacamole order. Server was non-attentive and we even got the wrong drinks on our drink order. We got 2 drinks chips, salsa and guacamole and the whole experience lasted 2 hours because the service was so slow.
We sat in one of the glass houses & enjoyed a delicious meal with sangria.
I am always appalled when several staff pass by my table and do not even acknowledge that I am sitting and waiting to be attended to. Here we were seated in the middle of the room. Every employee passed by several times. The managed finally came and had to find someone to serve us.
It wasn’t very busy. But the service was very slow. I didn’t have my drink replenished nor did my water get refilled until halfway through my meal.
The table was dirty when we sat down- stuck on lettuce or cilantro that we got wipes to wipe off.
The guacamole was not great. The only flavor in it was onion. My carnitas was very dry. So overall not a great experience and I don’t need to go back.
sitting outside in the igloo eating, watching the people walk by was really cool and the service was great
"Authentic" Mexican is a stretch. Truly it is difficult to make bad guacamole but this place manages to do it! Everything needs more salt and seasoning and the time it took for the main course to arrive was unexpectedly long.
I will not be returning.
Food was good. Waiter was very nice and helpful with our dinner selections but service was very slow. The guacamole sat at our table for about 20 minutes while we waited to receive more chips. Magaritas were great!
Kevin the manager was absolutely rude and unprofessional. I called in and confirmed with a girl named Danielle that would be late. She said it would be fine and then when I arrived Kevin completely just shut us down and as I was mentioning my phone call he said “well we’re booked and I just cancelled your reservation”.
This is after I had several people from my party come an hour away just to come here. I don’t know how they have the nerve to charge these prices and treat customers like that but that’s not ok. Not everyone lives next door so if people are putting in effort to come to your restaurant you shouldn’t great them with an unapologetically rude attitude. Even after calling back to speak to the manager the hostess said “what is your complaint” and I said “I didn’t have a complaint but I am requesting a manager” to which she replied “what is your problem?”
I didn’t see any of the white patrons who didn’t even have reservations get treated like that but I’m sure that’s not new for this area. Absolutely ridiculous and wouldn’t recommend.
There’s better options in this area for sure.
After checking in 10 minutes early for our reservation we still had a 45 minute wait to be seated
Food was good, staff was also attentive and flowed smoothly ..
Food/drinks were subpar at best, had to wait an hour after our reservation to sit.
Food was cold, undercooked octopus and over saturated with oil.
Service was almost nonexistent- had to ask multiple servers for a second drink before our server showed up.
Good restaurant and location. Food was good. Drinks were good. A bit on the pricey side. Overall pretty good though.
We were there 2.5 hours it took so long to get our food. The food was amazing, but it’s not worth waiting that long. We also had an issue with other customers basically running wild. Teenage girls that were taking their shoes off and walking around, taking up 2 tables but sitting all around one and basically yelling to the person right next to them. Then some of them took off across the road and came back in less clothing and appeared intoxicated. The restaurant “kicked out” a couple of them, but it would have been better for the whole restaurant if they made them all leave immediately.
After being seated promptly we waited for 20 minutes to be greeted by our server who told us that he already had 10 tables and manager asked him to take on our table as well.
We then proceeded to order our drinks and the first two drinks we requested he said they 86’d those off the menu because they didn’t have the right mixers for them.
(We requested a non alcohol iced tea and a mojito)
Our server told us He personally made our drinks because he feels he needs to be the bartender & server in Order to be effective.
After ordering our meals it took another 40 minutes for them to arrive. I was very surprised that the Tres Enchiladas ($23) did not come with any rice or beans. The food was Just slightly warm probably because it had been sitting there as we had already waited 40 minutes
I had the fish tacos , the fish was fresh but overall I was not impressed.
We really enjoy Mexican food and I was excited to try Rosa Mexicano based on other yelp reviews. Perhaps we went on a bad night , it was fairly busy and they were understaffed, however I will not go back to Rosa Mexicano and will stick to the trusted places I have gone to in the past.
The restaurant seemed dirty and the food was really average. My rice was hard and the fish tacos were cold with little taste.
