Food was fantastic. Our server, Anthony was fantastic.
I have been here a few times and each time there has been at least one issue, some minor once major. Each time, with the exception of the most recent, the restaurant has managed to make it right in some way. However, this time no. While we arrived 45 minutes early, the very friendly and helpful hostess was able to seat us within 15 minutes which was awesome.
Our server, unfortunately, was not very attentive and also never placed our appetizer order...which we didn't realize until our entrees arrived. When we asked about it we received a very quick, "sorry" then she walked away. It took a while for our meals to arrive and when they did they were lukewarm at best. As I had two of my children with me I decided not to make a big deal about it.
Bottom line, our server barely paid attention to us, she failed to place our order correctly and was less than empathetic when we pointed that out. Whenever we needed more water or even the check we had to wait until we could flag somebody in the restaurant down. A less than great experience in a restaurant that I like a lot. Not sure if I'll be going back.
The best mexican food I have ever eaten. The churros are amazing. The homemade corn tortillas are amazing. I don't think I can fit enough superlatives in this review to explain how awesome this place is. It was so good that we almost went back there two nights later.
Great service and food. Drinks were amazing, but pricey
Always so friendly!!
I knew when we went to this restaurant that they basically served Mexican food. I love Mexican food mostly because it is difficult to screw up and it is always cheap. Not in this case, this was a $100 meal for the two of us and we left not happy with the value. The food was ok, not great, just ok. We've been to other upscale Mexican paces and felt like they lived up to the price. Lolita Cantina, go there instead!
Fantastic service. Our server was so friendly and helpful. Food (fish and brisket tacos) were very good. Dessert (flan and churros) amazingly delicious. Drinks (pomegranate margarita and Mexican Colada) not so great. The margarita was too sweet and the colada was nasty. I thought it was too strong so I sent it back but the tweak didn’t help. It tasted bitter and sour. Stick to the classic margarita.
The restaurant is large but comfortable. The food was very good; even our Mexican American companion enjoyed it. We did find the waitress very uninvolved. Although we had two young children with us, we had to ask for the children’s menu, she never brought their drinks, and we had to ask for their ice cream. The worst thing was that we ordered a pitcher of margaritas, which she brought, but she didn’t bother to tell us that they don’t do pitchers and we would be charged at $12.50 a glass (small tumblers, not large, salt-rimmed margarita glasses). We ordered another pitcher, which we didn’t finish, and ended up with a bill for $125 for margaritas! Of course we protested, but to no avail. Customers beware! I gave her 2 stars because she wasn’t actually rude, just very unhelpful.
Great Food and service!
I had received a call from restaurant on Friday March 23 to confirm reservation which I did however when we arrived 15 minutes prior to our reservation I was informed that it had been canceled. We were asked to have a seat in the bar and we were seated around. 7:30.
I understand mistakes happen and would return to Rosa’s in the future.
Food was great! Service was outstanding. A bit noisy but overall enjoyed the experience.
the service was awful, I had to get the waitress attention three times during my dinner. I will never recommend this place to anyone. besides the service the food was overpriced for the taste.
It was good. service was great
We enjoyed our visit here for one of my friend's birthday dinner. While we attending during Dine out week we mainly ordered from their standard menu. The mole tasted great, I will be back for new twists if placed on the menu. The cocktails were made to perfection with a perfect balance of alcohol and flavor. The only drawback for me was the rushy nature of our waitress. It was a Monday night and the place was less than 50% full after the dinner rush, but she seemed like she was in a hurry to get away. It made us feel a little anxious taking us partially out of the mood. Everything else about Rosa's was great and I will be back in hopes of patient service.
Service was bad. 45 min and never asked us for our dinner choice.
Great food, great service, much too loud. It was impossible to have a conversation between the acoustics of the very loud room, the crowd's volume, and the fun but too-loud music. If there were a quieter section of the restaurant, we would absolutely return.
My 50th! Was so much fun and delicious!!
Fun vibe! Great drinks & food was delicious!
Great place for a large group get together.
Solid rosa mexicano experience
Friendly helpful staff
Rosa Mexicano is a an amazing restaurant. The staff are nice, there is an amazing ambiance especially when you go during the evening. The food was quick and delicious. Would recommend for a date night or a family night out. Great location for walking around the seaport area pre or post meal.
The soup was cold, service was so so and prices were high.
Noisy. Tables too close together. (And a loud talker next to us). Food was so-so. Sat us close to door, which is fine, but cold night in Boston. Hostess did a poor job telling people to keep door closed while customers peered outside looking for their uber to arrive (should be common sense by hostess. Windy, cold night. Wind blowing in like crazy). Dumb dumb.
As busy as this restaurant was, it was surprising to see so few staff/waitresses. We were seated and weren't served drinks for roughly 15 mins. After which our server only appeared to check on us every 30 mins after that. Food was good but was hard to enjoy being that we couldn't get drinks refilled quick enough and couldn't get servers to come around to our table. The 2 seater tables are long and skinny, meaning you have to sit miles away from your date and practically scream at each other. Not a place I would recommend for anyone unless you are planning to go eat with someone and not talk to each other.
Food is good. There wasn’t a wow factor or anything that impressed me on the menu that made me want to come back soon. But it is worth the visit. Service is great and fast!
great food, good (but very overpriced) margs
Went here previously for restaurant week and decided to come back and try other menu items as we were very satisfied during restaurant week. Cocktails taste very nice although maybe a tad overpriced. The food is certainly upscale mexican and did not disappoint. Our entrees were delicious but the star is certainly the guacamole and chips. I have never had guacamole this good (I usually do not eat it as in many places you can tell it came out a can or is just avocado mashed up). Made right in front of you with many additions to it to season and taste, a must have. We shall be going back and that appetizer will be ordered.
We had a very enjoyable high end Mexican meal. The waitstaff is very attentive and the food arrived fast (though not pre-made too fast) and was delicious. We enjoyed the decor and the ambiance.
I made an 8:15 reservation for my husband & I to celebrate his birthday. We got to the restaurant early, the Host/Hostess told us our table would be ready around our reservation (we expected this) and proceeded to the bar. As we got closer to our reservation time, my husband went back to the Host/Hostess and checked in again to ensure we wouldn't be overlooked. While waiting we noticed at least 6 parties come in after us, some without reservations as we heard them put their names in, but yet they were seated before us. (We could see open tables for two.) It's now almost 8:30 and we still hadn't been seated; we weren't even acknowledged. My husband went up to the Host/Hostess, for the third time, to ask about our reservation. Suddenly a table appeared and we were brought to the back of the restaurant where it was freezing! The food was OK and over priced. We finished our meal and asked for the check. The waiter came back saying that it was our Anniversary, it was not, it was my husband's birthday - which I explained to him. He said that dessert was on them for the occasion but we didn't want dessert and just wanted to leave at this point. We literally waited 30 minutes for our check, mind you we had to ask him more than once for it. It was so bad that we could have left and nobody would have even noticed - we clearly were invisible! I will never go back here nor will I ever recommend this place to anybody. The way this place treated us was wrong and ruined my husband's birthday dinner! Giving them one star is far too generous.
Great food, great service, awesome margaritas and really like the atmosphere, They have a cool waterfall wall the the kids really liked
An outstanding selection of local Mexican dishes from various places around the country, coupled with excellent drinks and fresh guacamole mixed at the table - Rosa Mexicano is a prize addition to the Seaport District. It's a trifle loud, and there's an annoying habit of turning the lights low - sometimes too low to read the menu! - but the food is worth the inconvenience. At the busiest time service can be a little slow, but it's all freshly prepared and tastes superb (and authentic). Recommended.
Excellent Mexican food - very unique dishes. Great Margaritas too! The service was excellent and very friendly. Highly recommend.
Server was nice ,atmosphere was amazing ,the valentines decorations were perfect the food was delicious..could’ve done better service but overall it was good
Love the one in NYC. This one was nice and the staff was great. Drinks, chips and salsa were good but The food we ordered for dinner was awful. Very disappointed because the NYC restaurant is always amazing.
Won’t be going back unless it’s just for drinks and chips.
The food was mediocre at best. They sit you on top of each other. The salsa had little flavor. The iced tea had zero flavor. My enchiladas had a very strange taste to them. For the money not worth it.
This place was great and also has a good view of the seaport. The service was good and the food was what sold us. I would recommend it to friends and family.
Everyone thoroughly the dinner - from the drinks to guacamole made table side to their entrees & lastly, the churros!! Wish we had a bag of churros to take home with the divine raspberry sauce!!!
It was great! Service was great, didn’t have to wait for a table on a Saturday night, food was great, and reasonably priced!
This was my first experience. Food was great. Service was excellent. But,except by the time they brought the guacamole dinner was served. I was slightly disappointed that they didn't play Spanish music while we dined. Mexican restaurants should play mariachi music. Over all it was a great birthday location. We had fun!
Great! Food and service awesome!!
Overrated and overpriced. The menu offers a variety of options that sound interesting, but the quality does not meet the menu's description. I've given this place a number of tries and despite quality service and a nice ambiance, the place is simply overrated and overpriced.
