We had an experience worth sharing. Overall, the place is very enjoyable and the food was very good, genuinely tasty and well served... but it was the service that outshined everything else.
Noticeably, the waitress made an unwilling mistake when she took our order and ended up bringing the wrong dish for one person at our table. When it was rejected, the dish was redone in expedite time and the Manager restaurant came to our table, to personally deliver it, apologizing for the wait and kindly offering to take it off the bill. Frankly, we weren't expecting this kind gesture (and evidently welcomed it) but it talks volumes of the staff commitment to please guests.
The deserts were also extraordinary, especially the Chef recommended cheese cake. We truly enjoyed our evening and will definitely return.
Great service and delicious food. will come back again.
Excellent food, amazing drinks, overall spectacular! Would go back and recommend to others!
Very disappointed !
Trip to the city for a concert
The service was extremely slow and we ended up being late to our show. We were seated late and then the food came late. It took about 20 minutes for the guacamole to come out.
They went out of their way to send over 2 special plates with a special empanada and pomegranate margarita sampler to celebrate our anniversary! Totally unexpected and delicious! Great service! Yummy drinks and food. Sat outside and people-watched. We’ll definitely be back.
Great food, great service, great place. Excellent suggestions by the waitress. She was engaged and great with customer service. Hostess also accommodated us when we wanted to sit elsewhere. Food was so good but beware of ordering too much!
Alley was great host
Place was mostly empty including outside which had only 3 tables occupied. We had reservations and upon arrival was asked “where would you like to sit?” We said outside. After 5 minutes we were told it would be another 5-8 minutes because no tables were set up. I said we don’t have time as we had plans so we just sat inside. I watched as at least 3 other parties asked to sit outside but ended up inside. Very unorganized I can see why it was empty which is a shame on a weather perfect Saturday. Won’t be back.
I had fish that was a little dry but everyone else in our party loved their food. The sangria was great!
Kelly was an outstanding waiters that I would hire for any customer service position
Excellent service and food, tasty and fresh. We enjoyed dinner in the patio with a view of sailboats and ships in the harbor. Very relaxing and fun birthday celebration for two old friends. Thank you to the chef and the professional staff!
Great drinks and food! Service was pretty good. Will definitely return in the future!
Took over almost an hour to get a drink! Then another 1.5 to get food! Also VERY loud to not go if you want to catch up with friends!
The food and drinks were delicious. Some minor problems with the service, but nothing that would prevent me from dining there again.
Our waitress was given a table of 15 or so people so we were forgotten by her. Other servers stepped in but we were not her priority. It’s a shame because this place is usually so good
Service and food were excellent.
First time visit. Everything went very smoothly. The service and food were excellent. The prices were a bit high. Loved the mole poblano
Watress a bit rude- we were outside on couches- usually make guacamole in front of u- I asked her she said yes then brought it out - never showed my friend the actual “Rosa” experience of making it in front to the table- so rude and not like the original one in NyC where I am from at all!
The food was really good, no complains
Guacamole was horrible, especially considering the 13 dollar price point. The only thing that was good was the entrees and margaritas. The service was absolutely horrible.
Our first time here - the house specialty Frozen Pomegrante-ritas were fantastic and we consumed several. got to sit out on the patio as we had requested (even though they dont guarantee this) and they handled a 15min delay in arriving and addition of one extra to the party with aplomb! Our waitress was outstandingly attentive. Only 2 minor things that made this less than perfect: the table-side guacamole tasted delish but was smaller than expected; and the main course arrived with a little longer delay than we had expected.
We sat outside on a lovely summer night. Chips & fresh salsa were delicious as well as our entrees. Only complaint is that if you don’t drink tequila, the other liquors available are limited (no martinis etc). Otherwise would recommend & will definitely go back.
The restaurant was super busy so it was understandable but we let multiple people (host, waitress) know that our friend was celebrating a birthday and we watched many tables receive a dessert and song while we were kind of ignored. I also put it in the notes section of our reservation. Not a big deal, and our meal was delicious but it was kind of a bummer.
Delish food and house signature drink! Loud but to be expected on a concert night at pavilion
A pale imitation of the original in NYC.
The original location was known for it's table side, fresh guacamole. Truly it was delicious.
What was served at this location wasn't even as good as prepared guac from Stop and Shop.
Overall bland, uninspired fake Mexican food.
Staff is friendly and the food is very good. Try the guacamole
Very bad experience. Service was horrible...
Everything was amazing!! The drinks, guacamole, and salsa. However, I did not enjoy my meal which was the shrimp tacos. It lacked flavor. I would go back and try something else next time.
I was disappointed in the service and food at Rosa Mexicano. Our waiter was impossible to track down and I didn’t think that the cost of the food matched some of the quality. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very nice and other times I have gone it was enjoyable but I was unimpressed this time and do not see myself going back.
I'm one of the original Rose Mexicana customers from their NYC east side restaurant and then became a regular at the Lincoln Center location every time I was in NYC. This is the second time I ate at the Seaport location. Once when it first opened...terrible and last Tuesday. It's a far cry from the good old days. No guacamole made at the table...my favorite thing along with the frozen pomegranate margaritas. We waited too long for water and then another wait for drinks and then finally the food which was OK but I'm not rushing back any time soon. Still do like the pomegranate margaritas though.
Food was very okay and expensive.
The restaurant was crowded... we thought we were going for an upscale dining experience and instead it was more like a family friendly restaurant.
It took the server several minutes to bring us water.
The drinks were way too strong.. my friend couldn’t even finish one.. we both felt “drunk”
The food was ok
Good Mexican food different from the chain restaurants. Good value.
My husband and I were looking for a good meal that wasn’t too expensive near our hotel, and we found this place on Open Table. We got a patio table and wonderful drinks to start along with delicious guacamole, salsa and chips. I was amazed to see that the chip bowl was full of intact chips...I don’t think I saw any crumbs or fragments!
Our entrees were wonderful - we both got Tampiqueñas de carne asada and I don’t know how we were able to eat them and get another round of margaritas but we did! Thank you for a great evening!
Excellent as always waiter was perfect
Great food, prompt service and an awesome location right in seaport
Food was excellent. Service was absolutely terrible. It took 30 minutes to get our drinks. Nobody ever said "sorry we are backed up". Eventually we had to flag down help from another server. It never improved - they took forever to come around and take our orders. A simple apology would have gone a long way. They seemed to have enough staff. They were just terribly disorganized. Other tables around us also seemed to be waiting forever. At least they forgot to charge for a few things which helped make up for the total crap service. They were not exactly unfriendly, just sort of disconnected and ignoring all of the tables.
Will not be going back which is too bad because the food was quite good and well presented.
All was good, food , drinks and our waitress was awesome.
