Served with rice and beans.
Ceviche de Camarones
White shrimp marinated Baja-style in citrus with jicama, avocado, roasted habanero, red onion and cilantro.
Food was great but the service was awful. They took the food away before asking if I was finished which I was not.
Great food! Great service! I highly recommend this restaurant.
Overall very good. Rosa Mexicano is consistently good and we go there two or three times a year and enjoy it every time. Parking is a challenge in the Seaport area.
Great service and great food and drinks.
Rosa Mexicano has the worse customer service of ANY restaurant I’ve been to over the last year. The hostess was extremely sweet and sat us immediately, she gets 5 stars and is the only employee that will receive 5 stars for the night. Twenty seconds after being seated the waitress, Brittney walked over and asked me if I wanted to order drinks. Prior to her walking over, my date walked to the restroom to wash his hands, as he opened doors for me and of course it only makes sense to practice good hygiene (especially in the middle of a pandemic.) I asked the waitress to give me a moment to look at the menu and for my date to come back. She came back to me 7 minutes later. After taking our drink and appetizer orders, a coke with lemon and an Irish mule with Jamison. She brought my boyfriend back a very large bottle of ginger beer. We explained we wanted a mule, not ginger beer. Another 10 minutes past before she brought the drink back (fair the place was busy and I’m sure the bar was backed up.) as for our appetizer she dropped the chips and dip, no small plates and never came back for us to ask for some. After attending to her tables both inside in outside she finally came back to take our food order. I ordered a “pollo adobado, combo” to include chicken and steak. And my date ordered a “salmon poblano.” My boyfriend is a strict pescatarian and has been for the last 19 years. We normally catch meat in a dish or the waitress will normally ask about any allergies or dietary restrictions. Unfortunately this time the chorizo pork slipped by us all. After taking a few bites of the food we alerted the waitress of the unfortunate issue. They offered to make the dish again without the pork to go. We waited 35 MIN for the same mistake, BF left there hungry and both of us frustrated. I WILL NEVER RETURN. With so many options within the seaport, you would think they would go above and beyond to beat out the competition. THEY DIDNT! This review can only be so long but it was bad.
Awesome drinks, food and ambiance.
Premium Mexican in seaport district. Waitress was very friendly and efficient. Margarita Pitcher was tasty and fair price. Guacamole comes with chips only as $ add on. Definitely not house-made or fresh chips, disappointingly small guacamole serving.
Tacos were really bad. We had shrimp and carne asada and the serving size looked like half of what would normally fill the tortilla. Shrimp was pathetic-barely two tiny little pieces that looked smaller than any shrimp I’ve ever had. Expected more.
Great time celebrating a birthday!
Service was good and ambiance on the patio was nice. Food was just average. We probably won’t hurry back.
Mixed Review - Bad & Good.
A hostess flat out lied to us about our reservation. Thank goodness another one was standing near her and helped us out. As our reservation was for seven people we were split into two groups due to current regulations. No waitress came to one of our tables and when we asked another waitress to check into it she completed ignored us - not didn't hear us. She listened and did nothing about it.
Thank goodness our waitress took the other table as well. Our waitress, Alexsandra L, was wonderful and our experience from then on was great. Her service was wonderful and the food was delicious.
Didn’t have a waiter after he put in the initial drink order. Ended up eating chips for dinner
Authentic Mexican cuisine. Outstanding drinks and friendly service. The shrimp ceviche could've been a bit fresher but it didn't dampen the mood or the experience. This was the second time I dined at Rosa and I can ensure that I will return again!
food was great as usual. I visit this spot 2X per month.
The flautas were not really a good example of what a Mexican flautas are in reality.
The flavor of the enchiladas were good and the margaritas were just plain OK.
If I am going to recommend I would say … meh. The menu is not really extensive and too much elegance of a restaurant to server the typical street food of Mexico. If you want a recommendation the restaurant needs to offer more elaborated dishes like chiles en nogada, mole pipian verde, caldo tlalpeño and more sauces (green, red, morita, red onions, jalapenos)
Birthday lunch/ dinner
Nice restaurant. Friendly staff. Great food. Greg Sherman, the manager went out of the way to help out for a business meeting we had. The outside seating is a bit noisy due to traffic. Overall, very good.
Wish menu had more options, drinks could also be better!
Our server was great though! :)
Most of the food at Rosa Mexicano is gluten free!! We had a person in our party with an allergy and she was in heaven!!! The food was mediocre to me, but everyone else in the group enjoyed it. Service was great and so weren’t the drinks!
We ordered a chicken fajita and a beef fajita.
I saw the picture of the chicken/beef fajita on line
Each of ours had one little piece of green pepper, one little piece of a red pepper and no yellow peppers.
It came with a little side of sour cream, a little side of guacamole, and a little side of hot sauce. Oh and a tiny spoon!
If they gave you a teaspoon everything would be come out of the tiny bowls in one scoop!
I rarely write a negative review on open table.
This place is a corporate Mexican Restaurant.
The portions must be decided by the accountants.
It was good, but service outdoors could be better. A customer shouldn’t have to wait 15 minutes after being seated to then be served by a waiter/waitress.
They must have run out of salt and limes the day I went. The Food was so bland and low quality and I decided never visit this place again.
Dinners were fantastic. We all loved all of our meals. Unfortunately the Cocktails were not the greatest, (although they were very beautiful). We drank the pomegranate margarita and were very sugary sweet and not enough tequila.
Hostess was very clearly unhappy to be there and made sure everyone knew. The waiter was pleasant but gave noticeably better service to other tables. Food was bland, which was very surprising because it’s usually very good.
Friendly-ish staff. They were nice but miserable.
Food was absolutely not worth the money.
Served a warm glass of Rose.
$14 for a tiny bowl of guacamole.
Entrees were sparse.
Felt as though the restaurant was on its way out.
Clearly Covid is taking its toll.
From the beginning, the host staff was not helpful with our request to sit outside (we have a child with an underlying condition so cannot dine inside due to COVID risk). We called prior to arrival and still had to push to have the request honored when we arrived. Service was horrendous. We waited 15-20 minutes just to get water and have a server come to the table, despite waiving down waiters and asking three different staff members to please send over our server. The food and drinks was decent when everything finally arrived. However, I would think that a manager would have come to the table to apologize or at least check on us after realizing we’d waited so long to be acknowledged. It was thoroughly disappointing as we’re Seaport residents & were hoping this might become a great regular spot!
Delicious food! Highly recommend The nachos. This was our first visit and we will definitely be back!
Perfect as always. We go to the flagship location in NYC and this one is just as good. Service was outstanding: Marcello made the occasion even more pleasant.
It was just okay, food wasn’t anything crazy good and pretty basic for the price. Wouldn’t go back but was good to try.
The service was very slow, and we asked for outdoor but were seated indoor
Service was fine but the food has gone down hill. The gauc was awful. Old tomatoes ect... For the money it’s better to just go to your local Mexican joint.
You can't leave this place unsatisfied. Great food. The spicy margarita is 5 stars.
Our server was great! Food was amazing. We went for restaurant week and the menu was ⭐️⭐️⭐️. Had a frozen margarita and it was so good I had to get another. Also loved the outdoor seating. Will definitely return!
Enjoyed the Dine Out Boston menu.
Sat outside, everyone was spaced well apart.
Server friendly and attentive.
Service and drinks are amazing here. The guava frozen margarita will definitely be my go-to drink if I ever come back. Nice place for casual lunch and drinks.
This place is not the place to go. Went here for a birthday with a party of four and waited 2 hours for our “reservation”. 2 hours per drink. Over priced food for little food.
Also said it was a friends birthday and promised a dessert and then said that didn’t exist
Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.
It was an awful birthday experience.
Great place and good staff
Great margs and food. Good vibes
The service was pretty good during our visit and they seemed to take current COVID-19 procedures seriously which is good. The drinks we ordered however were not good at all and did not taste fresh. The appetizers ordered were non remarkable.
it was a busy friday night & they seemed short on staff but still was a fine experience.
