Rootstock & Vine
Additionally, a 2nd level entertainment space was erected, creating Vintners Rooftop. This brilliant design offers spectacular 360’ views of the city. The sunsets are magical and Vintners Rooftop is rapidly becoming a favorite hotspot for many guests. Requests for Rooftop seating are taken by hostess upon arrival at Rootstock and Vine. Rooftop seating is not available for reservations.
Reservation for 2 at 6:30PM. We were quickly seating, and a server came to us immediately took our drink orders. When she brought the drinks, she took our food orders. We had a dip tray as an appetizer. I ordered the bacon-wrapped shrimp, and my wife ordered the red snapper. The shrimp were VERY tasty, as was the red snapper. Our server was very attentive, and the chef even came out and talked to us for a bit. All in all, an excellent experience. This was our 2nd time at this restaurant, and it has become our favorite place to go in Woodstock.
Great food and atmosphere.
Was excited about this restaurant during its construction and finally got a chance to visit. Decor was very nice but greeted by 3 hostesses seemed a bit much but we arrived before the main dinner service. Our waitress didn't know the menu (she said it was new) and was confused by many of our questions about the menu and the $50 bottle of wine that we ordered. Upon observing the staffing. there were 4-5 people in the kitchen, 3 behind a ~10 seat bar, and 2-3 waitresses and someone who appeared to be the manager/owner bussing tables.
We ordered the shared appetizer that was supposed to be hot, but all 3 dishes were lukewarm at best. My lamb meatballs were tasty but actually cold in the middle. The flavor was pretty good but I was turned off by the cold quail lollipops as well. No sooner did our appetizer arrive did the tapas that we ordered arrive too. We ordered the Guinness Brisket and Bacon wrapped shrimp. The shrimp was very good and proper temperature but the brisket was cold and 90% fat. Not the juicy kind of fat that makes the brisket taste delicious.....just fat. Having lived in Texas for 15+ years I know the wonderful flavor that can come from a brisket braised in Guinness, but this was not even close. The mashed potatoes that the brisket was served on were also cold and runny.
Needless to say, we were disappointed by the food and the quality of service for the $100 we spent. We won't be going back. Nice try for an upscale Tapas, Wine, and Dessert place for Woodstock but I would be surprised if this place survives.
Meh, small portions were new to me and my wife. Food seemed fresh we never waited for anything. We left thinking that everything matched our bill such as atmosphere, service but we were suprised that all entries and dessert tasted a little bland.
Amazing service and the food and drinks were out of this world! Chef even came to our table. The shareable Tapas plate is a great deal! Loved the whole experience! Thanks again to everyone that served us!
Great food. Great service! We had a wonderful time. Thanks!
The drink selection is amazing. Live music on Friday nights. The food was pretty good.
Went with my husband for a much needed date night. Food was great, love tapas because I love to try different things. Wine and bourbon was great and our waitress was awesome! Great ambience also.
Kaitlin was wonderful at helping order our charcuterie and tapas. Able to select a very nice Riesling from Alsace. Overall, a very nice dinner on the way to the Saturday night movie.
We thought the portions were too large and expensive for tapas.
Music a little too loud
The food is delicious. Had several plates and they were all devine. Service was incredible. Loved the ambiance. Definitely going back
We found last minute reservations for Rootstock and Vine on the Open Table app for a party of 10 at 7:30. I was surprised but they showed open times from 7:00-8:45 pm but went ahead and booked it at 6:45. I figured maybe a cold rainy Saturday night would contribute to that so after our group finished up at an event, we headed over to Rootstock and Vine for drinks. I received a call from Rootstock at 7:15 stating that Open Table had overbooked them and they could not accommodate us until after 9:00. We explained our situation (10 people in 5 separate cars heading their way) and finally spoke with a manager. They ended up putting us at 2 separate tables (not ideal but not worth waiting 90 minutes). They said that Open Table routinely overbooks them. I have never had this issue and have used this app several times. I guess the lesson I learned was when I book, call and verify.
Everything was fantastic! The wine, the food, the desserts. Servers were knowledgeable and friendly.
Very pleasant place! Highly recommend for small groups & special occasions.
Will definitely be back. It was so good. Great wine selection to complement amazing food.
Service/food was excellent. Abby is terrific!
Could have been great but the guy playing live music was so loud it was impossible to carry on a conversation. We were not there to support him but rather enjoy a meal with family who we hadn’t seen in a while. Luckily, management was able to squeeze us into a table in the back, but that could have not been the case and that would have ruined the evening.
Great food and great service!
We had a great night celebrating my birthday at Rootstock & Vine! My group had a fantastic time listening to music, enjoying libations, and eating the delicious food prepared by the kitchen. Thank you for a great time!
Pretty loud, though that may just have been the table near us. Drink selection was good, not overly pricey. 2 of our 4 plates were good. The barbacoa taco wasn't. Meat was bland and the tortillas were soggy. The black bean hummus was bland. The Greek chickpea salad was amazing because of the French feta. The bistro steak had really nice flavor and was cooked well.
The real disappointment was the dessert. Got the connfectioner's plate and it didn't have all the items from the menu description. There were these strange completely flavorless rectangles of dough on it. The dough in tarts tasted like uncooked refrigerator pie dough. The coffee mousse was gritty.
We've wanted to go there for a while and now I regret that we did. Not worth the price tag.
Food was good. Not great. Taste was good but everything was served warm. Not hot.
If you get more than 1-2 plates be prepared for a $200
Delicious food and amazing service.
Great atmosphere! Excellent service and delicious food!
Had the privilege of meeting the chef and he was so personable! Love his menu as well! Everything we had was delicious
Great concept and overall wonderful dining experience
Food and service was great!
To celebrate our anniversary, we decide to finally try Rootstock & Vine. To say we were pleased would be an understatement. The wine selection was amazing. The SW Black bean Hummus was to die for and the Barbacoa Street Tacos hit the spot. We will be back!
Great meal and awesome service. Great American version of Spanish Tapas. The apple salad and lamb meat balls are excellent
Always a great place with an awesome wine list!
Awesome staff, somolier was amazing. We spent 2 hours trying new wines and great tapas. It was such a joy to enjoy our food, wine, and conversation. When the somolier learned we are visiting a lesser known wine region in France in a few weeks he brought out 2 bottles for us to sample. I'm pretty sure you can not find wines from this region in many places, esp OTP! This place would be good for a light dinner and quick drink, too. I just love the idea and atmosphere here! It can be quite pricey, though. I would say $35-50 per person. But for special occasions I will come back. LOVE!
My friend and I shared 3 tapas, all very good. We would definitely return. The food was nicely presented, tasted wonderful, and there was plenty of it. Prices were reasonable.
If you’re going to offer an iPad for your patrons to pick their bottle of wine you might want to actually have the wines on the list. And please when a customer picks a particular glass of wine that you offer by the glass don’t pour something else and say sorry were out of that one here’s something else.
The wine and service was very good. Neither of us found the menu to be very appealing. We ended up just ordering a 1 meat a 1 cheese plate and was very pricey for what you got.
Good food, great service, good live music on the sun deck.
We had a great time. Selected from a variety of options and the wine paired with each course was excellent. A lot of noise as we were seated next to the bar. Service was very good but not excellent. The meal was great., first class. The sweet corn creme brulee had my daughter wanting more. We'll go again.
Very smoky— something is wrong with the kitchens ventilation. Health concern
We had a great evening on the roof with Jules as our server. The ceviche and the mussels were delicious and we really enjoyed the live music and beautiful evening viewing the visible planets.
