Had Bram as our server and he was great with breaking down the wine list with recommendations, as well as offering amazing service for the food. Great food, great wine and spirits selection, and fantastic service.
Everything is always good at RSV. Our friends enjoyed and thank you for having the requested table available. J&K
Both service and food were amazing! The white Pinot noir was great! Thanks for a wonderful evening!!!
Our server (and trainee with him) was great. He knew the menu well and made some very good recommendations on what to order. The establishment was well cared for, the food arrived quickly, and we will definitely be back. Great first impression.
We went for the whisky tasting and decided to have dinner first. Food and service was fabulous. We will be back for sure.
The only drawback was that we were seated RIGHT as you come in the door (the hostess stand was farther into the restaurant than we were), but I understand it was a busy Saturday night. It wouldn't have been so bad had we been along the wall but we weren't so it felt like we were in the way. And since the lighting is really bright, we kind of felt on display. But the food and service definitely made up for it. The Adobo Chicken Stuffed Piquillo was amazing! I'd go back for that alone.
They were very hospitable, particularly with my large birthday party group of 18 people, split over two tables. Great food, excellent ambiance.
Glad we chose this restaurant to try out. We're relatively new to Woodstock. The restaurant also has wine dinners and tastings as well as a listening room. Good food, service and ambience.
Awesome live music! Not too loud.
No one knows wine and beverages more than the experts at Rootstock
Disappointing. This was our first visit. I realize this is a tapas restaurant but its pretty bad when, for a table of 4, one gets 2 of his and finishes before the other 3 get anything. Then that same person ends up getting his last one after everyone else was finished with theirs. Our 3 dip sampler was good but they only give you a few crackers and bread. We still had half the dips left and asked for more crackers. They brought out 8 or 10 crackers and said bread was being cooked. And they charge a dollar for them. Needed another round of crackers to finish the dips. My pulled pork taco was 90 percent slaw, little meat, and cost 4 dollars. Short on wait staff because the manager was our server. She didn't tell us about the night's chef's specials. She was apologetic about the haphazard service and took care of the last tapas that came out so late. However, even with it removed from the bill it was still $150 with no drinks. I left still feeling hungry. Definitely a place to have a drink and apps, not really dinner.
“Day After!Valentines” lunch with my honey, romantic cocktail “French Kiss” was a play on French 75 with gin lemon juice simple syrup and rose cremant. Charcuterie with prosciutto and Gouda. Kale stuffed Piquillo peppers with polenta and chocolate truffles for dessert. My heart is full and my stomach is stuffed. Love is in the air at Rootstock
Rootstock failed to tell me that gratuity was added to my bill. I added a nice tip without knowing. They should have said something. I'm not very happy about it.
We went to grab some appetizers and a few drinks for a quick Valentine's Day evening. We were a bit caught off guard with a limited menu for the holiday. Our server let us know it was totally cool if we were blindsided and there was no hard feelings if we wanted to go and visit again on a normal menu night. That was so cool and really made us decide to stay, lol. Had it not been for such a cool server we would probably have gone somewhere else. Food was great, service was unbelievably awesome and we had a really great time. We will be back for sure. Good grief try the Oysters Rockefeller!
Thanks so much for your 5* rating! We truly appreciate it. We apologize the valentines menu was not available until you arrived. We will certainly use your feedback to be more thorough next time we offer a special evening. On another note, we are thrilled you had great service and great food! Hope to have you back again soon! Sean and Anna
Not awesome on any front for our first visit. Staff was only semi-knowledgeable, some food was good and some mediocre. Dinner & drinks for 2 @ $250 - we expected better.
Our sincere apologies that your visit was not what you hoped for. We shall continue to strive for excellence and complete satisfaction for our guests. We appreciate your feedback and will use it for improvement where possible. If you're back in the area soon, please let us know so we can be sure to visit with you and insure your visit is everything you hope for. Sean and Anna
We arrived a little early for a 5:30pm reservation. There were many tables available but we were given a choice of two right by the entrance. I have no idea why we weren’t given a better table when we asked but they just seated us at one of them. We had our favorite server, Jules, which made us feel better. She did a fantastic job again. It was a prix fix menu for $65 and we could select one option from each of the 4 courses. We enjoyed the main dishes (third course) but the rest were not good. They really need to work on the charcuterie board ... the meats and cheese aren’t good which is hard to imagine since it’s so easy to make a tasty one. We felt very rushed and actually heard a conversation at the hostess stand about how quickly a 4:30pm table finished. It was Valentine’s Day and we were looking to have a relaxing meal; however, they brought ought second and then our third course before we were even done with the first one. McDonald’s should be that fast! We complained and they slowed the pace before desert. They chocolate truffles were awful. I love sweets but couldn’t even take a second bite. Very disappointing as we had a much better experience the first time we were there. We will give it another shot. Hope it’s a better experience when it’s not a holiday.
Hello and thank you for sharing your feedback on your last visit to our establishment. We truly strive to create and deliver an excellent experience and I'm so sorry that you did not receive that. We truly appreciate the opportunity to serve you again and hope it is everything you hope for next time. Our sincerest apologies to you that your valentines dinner wasn't what you hoped for. Sean and Anna
Our service was terribly slow. Took 2 hours for my husband and I to have dinner. My steak was ordered medium rare and came out well done. When I let the server know, he said, I will let the chef know and started to walk away. I then asked for a new steak as I was not about to eat a dry overcooked steak. It took another 30 minutes for me to get the second steak. So my husband ate his dinner while I watched and then he sat and watched me eat my dinner after that. The house manager offered to cover a $6 dessert of a $120 meal, which came out after another 30 minutes and was cold. This place has so much potential, but we will not be back. Terribly disappointed in our experience.
We sincerely apologize for the lack of attention given on your special evening. We genuinely hope to make it up to you. Sean and Anna
Went on Open Table and booked a reservation for 3 and got 100 bonus points! First time there and we are vegetarians. Good selection of appetizers and great selection of wines! We really enjoyed and will go back. The live music was good too!
Thank you so very much for your 5*, we sincerely appreciate you taking the time to rate your experience. We look forward to seeing you again soon Sean and Anna Daily and team
We had a great time and the food was amazing. It was a little pricey in my opinion for what you get and the tables are very close together so the loud table beside us was a little disruptive. Our waiter Travis was very patient with us because we kept chatting and forgetting to look at the menu.
Thank you so very much for your 5* rating of our establishment. We genuinely appreciate you taking the time to write a positive review. Anna Daily
The food and atmosphere is great but the service is rough. Everyone’s food came out at different times, even as far as half an hour. So you sit there while your food is getting cold because half your table hasn’t received their food yet. At the end of the meal we finally got an apology on the wait and an excuse that they were short staffed. Having come from the food industry, I know exactly how this can be but it’s vital to communicate with the table that you are short staffed and perhaps bring an extra app or something to make up for it.
Wonderful for pur Thursday eve family birthday celebration!
Thank you kindly for a great review of your dining experience. We hope to see you again in the near future Anna Daily and Team!
Always awesome at RSV! Staff is amazing and entertainment is excellent. Food and cocktails are prepared with with care. Never disappointed, and we highly recommend RSV. Cheers!
Easy to get to and lots of parking. Business Casual dining in a nice location. Very close walking to downtown, park and Elm Street Theather.
Great place. Excellent food(red snapper with mashed plantain) & cocktails drinks. Good parking area. If you like Moscow Mule cocktail it is excellent. This is the second time my husband & I have dinner there.
Second time in 2 weeks that what I wanted to order was not available. Waiter unable to properly describe foods and doesn't bother to check. Brought a guest with me and was overall disappointed with service and availability of menu items. We ordered hummus, a bowl of soup, a portobello mushroom and a glass of wine and it was $70. Too much to spend and be disappointed.
Love this place. We've had Tapas up on the roof in good weather and delicious plates inside when it's raining.
The wait staff is a delight and I only wish I could remember the young lady's name who served us the last time she was wonderful
A pleasant experience and we were able to talk to each other without unwanted loud music or noise.
Out of our top 3 choices for tapas. Chicken entree very dry, but bacon wrapped shrimp good.
Everything was great! Jeff and Kim Costa
Our party of eleven was told after ordering that we could not have any of the salads we ordered due to a "lettuce shortage". A few minutes later we were told that they were out of brisket and that we had received the last ricotta and the last steak in the kitchen. When we asked what they had they said drinks and dessert. Soon after, they started bringing us drinks we didn't order and plates of cheese which we thought was a kind gesture considering they couldn't offer us most of what we ordered. Unfortunately when the bill came we were charged for some drinks that we had been told would be comped as well as some of the food. We negotiated the bill down which frankly we should never have had to do. Our group had a great laugh about the ridiculousness of the situation. We certainly felt bad for the servers as well as the owner but I don't think any of us will be dining there again.
The food was good and the $2 mimosas aren’t anything to complain about. Our server, however, seemed that any question regarding “can I get a side of bacon” or simply our presence were an inconvenience.
Our first time to downtown Woodstock AND to Rootstock and Vine. We ate at the roof-top bar area...food was great. BEST pimento cheese! PB&J cheesecake for dessert was MmmMmm...!
Great menu that should appeal to any taste. Waitress really knew her stuff. A delicious experience.
Enjoyed Tapas and drinks before heading to a show at Madlife
Date night with hubby, excellent food and service !
The Pimento Cheese was the best I ever tasted...with the right wine it's a sweet and spicy treat.
They were great and my 5 years loved the food. Well be back for a date night!
Service was SLOW, which might be acceptable on a Friday or Saturday night, but a 6:30 Sunday seating with four people should NOT take three hours! And the place was not crowded. Waiter kept forgetting to bring whatever we had asked for - the drink menu, a second glass of wine. Meals did not come out at the same time. And then the waiter 'forgot' to discount our wines, but luckily I checked the receipt before he picked it up, so he had to re-ring both checks for our table. Why offer half price wines by the glass on Sundays if you're going to charge full price?
They were out of several menu items, which is annoying, but the food we had was delicious. Our server left a bit to be desired. Overall, I really like this place and will go back.
