   Busy Mother's Day brunch, but service was very good and friendly. Our food was excellent and arrived in a reasonable timeframe despite the crowd. Quite loud, so no real intimacy. Could clean up the building lobby to create a more inviting entry to the restaurant.

   Service was slow. This establishment has definitely done down since the last we visited. Service was slow, food was bland, burnt and honestly, not good. I didn’t even eat my food. Limited menu and several of the items were not available. Took my mother for a Mother’s Day Brunch and I was very disappointed.

   Our waitress was nice but the experience didn't give the upscale persona the restaurant displays. The food was ok but expensive. They also already have a limited menu at baseline and they didn't have two menu items available to order the night we went. Again the wait staff was nice but the overall experience wasn't worth the cost.

   Service was bad - took almost an hour to get appetizers that we ordered right when we sat down and they weren’t even that busy. Food was also EXTREMELY salty. Everything we had was extremely over-salted and almost hard to eat.

   the apps took forever, i ordered a pork chop medium rare and it was SO over cooked that i couldn’t even chew one piece of it. i told the chef and just said to make me a quick caesar salad with dressing on the side. instead….. i got one so soaked in dressing that i couldn’t eat that either. totally disappointed in this restaurant 👎

   The food and cocktails were great. The restaurant itself was small, but lovely. The decor was artsy and menu was plentiful. The only issue we had was the surrounding area was extremely sketchy. Every building near it was closed and boarded up. Valet wasn’t available, so we had to park in a lot close to the restaurant. It didn’t seem safe, but others were parked there as well. The building that the restaurant is in is quite old and maybe even closed as well. I was shocked that this cute restaurant was located here.

    We wanted to love this place but our experience was meh at best-- which is not what you want for a $300 tab (for 3 people). The ambiance and decore is great but the place was freezing. Our waitress was doing the best she could but she seemed to be the only person working the whole restaurant. Food was mediocre at best, desserts were awful and everything took an extremely long time to come out. The table next to us ordered the salmon that smelled so fishy that there is no way it could possibly have been ok to eat and we were very glad it was time for us to leave because the smell was so bad!     The restaurant was nearly empty on Friday night for dinner. The apps were good, drinks were ok. Server was excellent and attentive. My entree was inedible and actually smelled like it might have been bad. I had to remove it from the table it smelled so bad. They did give me free dessert, but didn’t offer to comp the entree. Bill was really high which we normally don’t mind, but the food quality was terrible. We will not be returning.

    We sat down and no one acknowledged us or spoke to us for the first 15-20 minutes that we were seated. We decided to leave. This is my biggest pet peeve, and I won’t pay money to a business that can’t acknowledge their guests.

    The cocktails were delicious. The server was nice and friendly. The food was very pricey and not cooked or seasoned well. It was a long wait for the food as well. We will not be coming back

    I flew in from out of town and choose this venue based on Google reviews, which is always dicey. The locals where very happy with the choice. Service was great. Food was delicious!!! Owner/chef was out and about chatting with diners.

    First time here. We arrived restaurant was fairly empty. Hostess tried to sit us at high table behind bar. Specifically against what I’d requested on my reservation. Then she tried to sit us directly at door then finally by the window/ door which was fine. I noticed she did that with several AA couples, tried giving them bad seats. Ok The drinks appetizer and soups were good. Then it Took about an hour to receive main courses. Received them and my husbands pork chop was absolutely Rare, no way was he eating raw pork, the grits were Luke warm! My food was cold and unseasoned so I wanted some salt. By the time the waitress came back we were totally over it. She eventually brought a salt shaker. By then we just got to go boxes and took that raw and bland food home, they didn’t even put our grits in the to go box either.. Very undercooked and underwhelming. Doubt I’d come back. They took $20 off the raw pork chop. That certainly made nothing any better. For over $200 we didn’t want to leave with our food we paid to dine in. Get it together!

    All in all, not what I was expecting. BHM has a decent selection of options, downtown. This was on my list for a while. It's officially now been checked off, but doubt it will be visited a second time. Overall, simply average in all aspects.

    We were sorely disappointed. Our service was dismal. My food came out a full 10 minutes before my husband's with no notice from staff. My food was under seasoned and the pasta was overdone. This place was not worth the money and we will not be back.

    This was by far one of the worst restaurant experiences I have ever had. It took almost half an hour for us to just get a glass of water poured and our orders put in. The appetizers took approximately one hour and 15 minutes to come out. We got the Aaron Cheney and the crawfish cakes, which were actually pretty good. However, it then took another approximately 45 minutes for our entrées to come out and the braised rabbit papparedelle was essentially raw pasta and inedible. At that point, we just took our dessert to go but our server at least was very compassionate and eliminated our tab given such a long wait time for food. We discovered after coming home that the crème brûlée was essentially raw. What a horrific restaurant experience, and completely unexpected for one of this reputation, and perceived caliber on yelp.

    Searched for places close to BJCC bec we wanted to do dinner before the show (we drove down from Huntsville) and this popped up. It’s not even a mile from BJCC so was perfect location, even more fitting that it’s in the Thomas Jefferson tower and we were watching Hamilton after. The building is a cool older building and the restaurant has a cool vibe-my son loved the datk walls/gray trim/Tiffany blue ceilings. Service was good,the food was delicious and the drinks tasty. We had the crawfish cakes, Caesar salad with shrimp, pork chop, and the rack of lamb. Their old fashioned with muddled oranges and cherries, yum and so was the minty Tom collins. We would definitely go back! Would like to try their brunch.

    Overall I found the experience to be average. The restaurant acoustics lend to it being very loud. There were only two groups of diners there at the time we were (our group of 3 and the other group of 8) The other group was very loud and they set up right beside them. It would have been better to sit our group of 3 at a further distance away so could have enjoyed our meal. Lastly I found the pricing to be reasonable EXCEPT the price for the vegetable plate. For 4 vegetables and such small portions, $36 is out of line.

    Brunch menu is very unique and diverse, and every dish we tried was exceptional. Only complaint is that it took us more than an hour after we were seated to receive our foo, and this is not the first time we have had a similar experience here. But if you have the time and don’t mind waiting, the food is definitely worth it

    Made a last minute reservation for 6:30pm and when we arrived the restaurant was only half full on a friday night. We got seated quickly but it took 30 minutes just to get our drink order and appetizers and then another hour just to get our food. All in all this was a two hour experience in order just to eat! The wait staff was nice but we had a rotating cast everytime we were delivered something or needed something. Seemed very short staffed becasue half the time we would look to get someones attention but there would be no staff anywhere in the small restaurant. The food and service did not match the price we paid and will not be recommending or heading back any time soon.

    A pretentious downtown establishment serving cold food in an even colder environment. Honorable mention to the swarms of homeless people and panhandlers surrounding the building, and the broken elevator. Will not return.
