Root Down serves “globally influenced seasonal cuisine,” which basically means we go where inspiration leads us. We’re not tied to one style or genre—we’re hoping to create one of our own.
At Root Down we pride ourselves on striving to solve the ‘Omnivore’s Dilemma.’ We have created a dining spot where all dietary needs will be accommodated, including vegetarian, vegan, raw and gluten free; also allergies or intolerances are always handled professionally by the kitchen team. Our menu has icons reflecting this philosophy, though we always request you notify your server of specific needs. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Wonderful evening. Stellar food. Excellent service.
Fantastic as always! A great pre-theater dinner spot for my group. Everyone can find something yummy.
Incredible food and service. Came with friends for my birthday and our server was an absolute blast. We had a really amazing time. Thank you Root Down for a wonderful celebration! Will be back.
Love this place! Always amazing food and great service. The staff are all so knowledgeable.
There is a huge TV playing sports in the bar area, so just beware if you usually like the intimacy of sitting close at the bar, you’ll have that to contend with. Food was great but a little pricey for what you get. Overall good experience & we would go back.
As always the food was very good. Spotty service this go round, but can’t win em all. Having been in the industry, I blame the management more than our server. She is clearly new to serving. She was having trouble keeping up with all her tables and got a large party halfway through our meal, at which point she disappeared. The front of house manager should have had her eye on the section and noticed things. Examples: no share plates down when our appetizer arrived. When I asked, the plates were placed on top of our menus. I purposely didn’t order everything at once because I had a gut feeling it wouldn’t be timed right. But, after the second course arrived, I thought I’d order the main. It came way before we were done with the second course. (This is a huge pet peeve of mine) We were never asked how any of our courses were. We had to pour our own wine. And then when we were done, boom the server is there asking about desert, she dropped menus then disappeared again. I waited for her to return, placing the desert menus on top of one another, slightly off the table. After 7mins I went and stood in the common area until the manager asked if she could help. I handed her my card and when we got the check she asked if everything was okay. I said it was fine. Ship had already sailed. I’m all for giving people a chance at serving, but they need to be trained well and observed and helped along the way. You can’t just throw an inexperienced person on the floor of any restaurant, let alone Root Down. I’ll be back, as I love this restaurant. Management please take care of your floor.
Fabulous, interesting menu... great service, happy people. Great atmosphere and views!
Asked for a table vs a high top but told nothing available yet tables never filled while we were there
Fantastic meal start to finish. Love how everything on the plate adds to the tasting experience. Perfectly executed and delicious. Reasonable portions. Can't wait to bring friends and return!!
My son and I celebrated his sixth birthday. Their kids meals are healthy and tasty. The Moroccan chicken was excellent. They also gave us an off me nu dessert and treated my son like a king
I don’t live in Denver but make a point of eating at Root Down whenever I’m in town. I am never disappointed; the atmosphere is very welcoming and comfortable, the food is excellent and service consistently great. Root Down is one of my favorite restaurants!
I love Root Down, both in Denver and Boulder CO also the small outpost at Denver Int’l Airport. This is a great place to bring your Vegan friends and not, great food.
Fantastic place to have brunch with friends. Food was excellent, bar service could be a little faster, but not a deal killer. Waiter was great and offered spot on food suggestions.
Service was great. Guided us to make sure we did not order too much, and spaced out the timing nicely. My one complaint is that the lamb sliders the buns were soggy, and too soft, I did not even want to finish it.
Went here for our anniversary and told the waitress we are vegan. She made sure everything that came to our table was vegan and the chef sent out some vegan "muses" to the table. It's not cheap, but it is totally fair prices. We had nearly an idealic restaurant experience. Will recommend and will be back.
I have eaten at Root Down 3 times. Every time I go I am amazed at the tastes. It’s just awesome!
Delicious! Every which way.
Great food, great experience. Server had great recommendations & even let us try a complimentary caramel from the dessert chef. A++
Food was great, service was great, just really really loud. 😒
Food was fantastic and our server was very pleasant and attentive.
Birthday dinner before an Avalanche game. Tables are tightly spaced but the food was fantastic
Lots of great food and cocktail choices on the menu.
Excellent Service and great food. Parking is always a challenge but the valet was great, use that.
The food and service were great as always. it's a little too dark. we had to use flashlights to read the menu. Wondering why we got a bad table after making a reservation
Delicious food, friendly and prompt (but not overly attentive) waiter, and a lovely ambiance.
Root down has eclectic interesting food prepared flawlessly. The Thai curry soup was to write home about. The lamb deliciously prepared. I had nothing I would not recommend. Our server was efficient and friendly but a bit stand offish. Otherwise amazing experience
I love love love this place! The food is always unique, amazing, and delicious. I come to Root Down every year for my birthday and I always have such a lovely experience.
Just a happy, vibrant spot for a cozy Sunday brunch. Food was excellent, service pleasant. Always a very good experience.
My 2nd time here and it was absolutely fantastic again. Service was wonderful especially for a busy Sunday morning. The seasonal pancakes were so delicious. Absolutely will be back many more times.
It was amazing!
Great food and service, as always! Noise level became quite high on Friday night, once place filled up; made conversation challenging occasionally.
From the time we were seated until we left, the service was excellent. The food was delish and our waitress was very attentive to my nut allergy. Love the fact that you can still see remnants of the former filling station , which Root Down now inhabits. Definitely will return.
Our first visit to Denver! The table was ready on time. The server was attentive, listened carefully to our requests/needs, made good suggestions, and helped pick the “right” order for my IPA beer choices! We had three small plates and one shared entree. Each plate came out one at a time, was explained to us by the person bringing the plate, and we had adequate time to enjoy each plate before the next one came. Good pacing, good service, excellent presentation and taste! The whole experience was wonderful.
Root Down seriously needs to get some acoustical treatment to their location. Could not hear people 3 feet from me for dinner conversation without yelling. Really, it can be done and still maintain the ambience of the garage. Food was good, but portions seem to have gotten smaller. I had the sliders but there were only 2 when there used to be 3. That was equivalent to an 8 dollar slider. ?!? I asked for a rocks pour neat bourbon but it really was still just a shot. If that. Service was so-so. Server was always rushed. High price, low value.
Delicious food. Excellent service. Terrific ambiance.
Great server - Alexa!
The food is outstanding! We went in a Sunday which helped to get an excellent table as it was not crowded
Good food, some delays when asking for condiments, but was pretty tasty
It was our anniversary and we arrived at our table to a card signed by the staff! The service was knowledgeable and attentive. The only thing I might change was that we waited a while to order and could have used bread or crackers to start. The food was outstanding and unique. Great flavors!
