Great food but small portions.
Good but need a little more light! It was difficult to see what we had in our plates!!!
First experience after hearing good things. Food was awesome- short ribs and chicken, corn, asparagus and potatoes were all good. The coconut cake stole the show, wowwww.
My boyfriend and I’s experience here was top notch! Our waiter was fabulous and talked us into some tasty dishes. From start to finish everything was wondering. We will be visiting Charlotte soon and you best believe we will be eating here again!
Food is Always Excellent! Will be back soon. Very interesting menu.
Great spot! Great location! The smell of the wood fired grill will certainly draw you in.
Great food, and amazing service. Our waitress was so sweet and accommodating. Huge wine list and locally sourced food, menu changes on what’s good that day so new options are always available. 100% would recommend if you are looking for good food in the city.
Shannon was our server and she was delightful and very knowledgeable of the nightly specials. Always high energy crowd there. We usually dine at Rooster's when we are going to a show at Blumenthal.
We typically go to this location of Roosters before a concert. They never disappoint—wonderful food and drinks and superlative, very engaged servers. It is always a terrific place for dinner.
My son and I had a reservation for Roosters for last Saturday night but, due to circumstances beyond our control, we found out that Saturday would not work, so we decided to try our luck going one night earlier. When we arrived, we were told that we would have about a 90 minute wait, but we could eat upstairs around the open kitchen - first come, first served. We decided to try that, but we weren't too comfortable. We weren't upset, since we had decided to try to come a night early, so we stayed.
One of the managers, named Bo, must have heard us talking or just noticed that we didn't look too happy, so he said "sitting near the kitchen has its advantages," and gave us a free appetizer - some cured meats and crostini - which was very good and much appreciated. A few minutes later, Bo told us that there had been a late cancellation and he had a table for us.
Meanwhile, Grant, our waiter, who had started out with us at the open kitchen seats, moved with us to the table. He was terrific, with good suggestions about the menu.
So the service at Roosters was beyond excellent - above and beyond what we could have expected coming to the restaurant on a busy Friday night without a reservation.
The food also exceeded expectations, which were high based on the reviews that my son and I had read. We had calamari for an appetizer. It was tender and cooked just right with a good marinara sauce. My son had the hangar steak, which he devoured after saying that it was cooked just right. I had the smoked chicken wings, which were juicy with a crispy skin. Really tasty. My son and I shared two sides, asparagus and mac and cheese - both very good and it is difficult to get fresh asparagus cooked just right at a restaurant.
To top things off, my son had the brownie and vanilla ice cream dessert (which I shared a bit with him).
All in all, it was a great night out at Roosters. My son and I had a lot of fun and really enjoyed our meal.
Our expectations were totally surpassed. My wife, and this is GREAT testimony, said that this would be a good place for special meals like anniversaries, birthday's, date nights, etc. Absolutely loved the food from salads to entree's and sides...The Mac & Cheese and the fried corn were superb.
The food here is spectacular! Our server was very knowledgeable as well. Only drawback I'd say on the uptown location is the frequency of large groups on business meetings. This can slow down service.
It was a crazy busy night with the CIAA basketball tournament. Traffic, parking, and packed restaurant. Our waiter was too busy with larger groups to pay us much mind. We will not be back again.
Great food. BBQ chicken was excellent. Austin was our waiter, and he provided great service.
If you love roasted beet appetizers this is THE place. Dee-lish. Same for their incredible brisket burger and its generous portion of fries. My wife had the hangar steak which she loved. Consistently wonderful. And last but not least was our server, Eric. Attentive, courteous, fabulous.
The food was great and friendly staff! I’ve been here before but my date had not and she loved it. Great time here and good laughs with friendly staff
Great ambiance! Servers very friendly and helpful! Had a great experience- will definitely be back!
As always, our recent visit to Roosters Uptown was outstanding. Roosters is consistently one of the best dining experiences in the Queen City. We took a visiting friend this time and he loved everything! Great Staff and excellent food. You can't go wrong.
Overall the restaurant was what I had expected as I and my colleague had gone there for lunch the previous day. The food was great the service was outstanding and the host/manager was very accommodating and friendly. So we suggested that our team go there for dinner.
We were greeted by the server we had for the lunch the previous day who was hosting or managing however the manager/host that greeted us before was not there. While they did accommodate our seating of 10 the service from that point went down the hill. The servers we were assigned were very rough in how they handled our group. It was though they knew that they were going to get tipped so no extra. Here's your drinks and here's your meal oh and by the way if you want dessert we need to know ahead of time because it takes 20 minutes to prepare.
The lunch service was great! The host/manager or owner was so wonderful! Maybe it was the night servers? I don't know? I would go back there definitely for lunch but not in the evening as I would not want to chance getting the same 2 servers!
Our server made great recommendations. We loved everything we tried. Great spot!
My parents are in town and we had to take them to my favorite restaurant in Charlotte!
I normally love Roosters but on this last visit to the uptown location i was a little disappointed with the food. I tried to order the kale Cesar salad but they were sold out. I ended up with another salad that had squash and was good, just not what I had a taste for. The mussels were fair at best. They used to serve these in a butter sauce that was to die for. Now they have changed the recipe to a coconut sauce - i wasn’t a fan. Plus the bread they served it with was too dense. Also, many of the mussels did not open. Service was excellent - friendly and attentive.
What a nice time. Dining with old friends I hadn’t seen in a decade! Rooster was the perfect place! A warm relatively quiet atmosphere, food that was a “pallet pleaser”, and valued by the pound!
Best barbecued chicken ever. Mac and cheese side was great too.
Disappointed in the ok service, fair-bad presentation and minute portions. At these prices a 25% increase in food and 50% increase in server's attention would have gotten rave reviews. Sadly it was only fair and I would not recommend it.
My husband and I were out for date night and had such a great experience here! Our server, Shannon, was fantastic - friendly, attentive, energetic, and very knowledgeable. The food was absolutely delicious and we will definitely be back again!
We went to Roosters for dinner. Two of the four people ordered the chicken which was initially serve cold; when the replace order arrived the meat was overcooked and dry. My wife ordered the duck which was cooked exactly to her taste but was overly seasoned with pepper. The fourth member of the party ordered a hamburger which was both hot, cooked as ordered and quite good.
All and all the experience was not good and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for anything more than a hamburger. Highly disappointed.
I ordered the one-quarter chicken natural, no barbeque sauce. I can honestly say it was the worst tasting chicken I have ever had. I think it may have been tainted.I could not eat it. My wife ordered the one-quarter chicken with barbecue sauce and although hers was better, it was also undercooked in spots. We will not be frequenting Rooster's again. Also the place is too noisy to carry on any conversation, at least where we were seated. Waiter was good, and the drinks were good, but that was it.
Our group enjoyed our first Rooster's visit. The food was very good, the service was fantastic and we were super close to the Booth Playhouse, where our activity was held after our dinner. Great place for a date night dinner.
Picked Rooster’s at the recommendation of a friend and so glad we did! Ricky was fantastic tonight! He was very patient when he had to describe the charcuterie items more than once to us and when we were indecisive about our main courses. All of his recommendations were delicious.
We were very pleased with our experience and definitely will be back!
We went to Rooster's to celebrate a late valentines day dinner, and there is a lot of variety with the food, and it was very good. They brought out bread for us while we decided what we ordered, water was refilled very quickly, waiter was great, wine and beer list were very long and very tasty, Mac & cheese came in a cute small cast iron and was very good. Reasonably priced, some things were on the more expensive side but they had a lot of options that were not expensive at all! Will definitely be coming back
Our waiter was awesome. He was very attentive and gave great suggestions.
Great service and food but loud!
My wife and I really enjoyed our experience, the only draw back was our reservation was at 7:15 and got seated at 7:35. But it was valentines day, we had drinks at the bar while we wait. We will be back. Recommend the cheesecake desert.
Food was impeccable as was the service. Knowledgeable, friendly and attentive (but not too much) waitstaff. Would highly recommend!
Chicken was lukewarm
Went to dinner before a concert. Short walk from the Aloft hotel and then to the arena. Had a reservation and they seated us promptly upstairs. Our server provided very good guidance on our beer order from their own offerings. Appetizer was their wings which were very good and hit the spot. and we split a salad. We also were provided fresh bread with olive oil. My wife had the burger and thought it was excellent. I had the shrimp, which were ok. Seasoning was not very memorable and the shrimp were on the soft side of being fully cooked. The onion rings we ordered were ok, nothing special. Atmosphere was very nice. Had a seat were we could see the kitchen and wood burning oven. It was a rainy night but on a nicer night they have outside seating. If we happen to go again (we were visiting from Raleigh) we would stop in but I would try something different on the menu. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and beers which helped. The staff was attentive in clearing or table after each course.
We had a party of 6. Made reservations on the web and it worked perfectly! Got to the restaurant and was seated right away. Food was very good although it is a little pricey. All n all it was a nice experience.
Great food and atmosphere. Our waiter was fabulous.
