Rooster's Wood-Fired Kitchen - Uptown
Food was phenomenal full of tasty surprises even the most basic items were amazingly prepared. Great location, ambiance, they even validated my parking. Can't wait to go back!!!
Food is good but I was disappointed with the service. The manager had to get bread for us after we had asked the server. Didn’t see our server much at all and we had to stop another server who wasn’t working our table to refill our drinks.
Great food, great service. A little noisy, but we were in a booth so we were able to talk easily. Really enjoyed the selections. We had scallops, salmon, pork chops and ribs. Everyone enjoyed.
Great service. Wonderful food. Perfect for pre-opera.
Great waiter, had a very descriptive command of the menu and drinks!
Graduation celebration with family. Service was great, answering lots of questions and keeping everyone happy. Smoked wings were fabulous. Everyone had something different and all loved their entrees. We had a special cake for the occasion and they brought it out, along with utensils to cut & serve it. Be sure to try the salmon cakes, onion rings, burger & yes, even meatloaf. I believe they even have GF options. Loved that it was casual, but we still could be dressed up.
That was my first time but it sure won’t be my last. Great experience!
We were disappointed by the specials tonight. $32 for a 4oz flounder over carrots. Service was not engaging and not available when we needed anything.
Food is consistently delicious ! Our server Grant was fantastic!
The duck breast was very good but I sat with an empty wine for 10-15 minutes.
Rooster's is one of our favorite restaurants anywhere.
The standard fare is wonderful. The fried corn is the standard against which all fried corn should be measured. Their hamburger (brisket burger) is incredible. The menu is extensive and varied and has something for everyone.
When they create new or occasional menu items we always pay attention. Recently they offered duck mousse which rivals fois gras in Paris.
Their cocktails are very good and they have a great wine list.
We never fail to eat their coconut cake for dessert... it is a standout.
The staff has always been attentive and knowledgeable about their offerings and certainly add to the experience.
Our server, Keith, was very knowledgeable about the menu and very personable. We also found out he grew up about a half hour from our hometown so it was great to connect with him on a more personal level!
Service was extremely slow. I ordered Mac and Cheese, it was $10.00 for a small bowl. I was thinking
It was going to be the best I had ever eaten. The noodles were firm ,needed to be boiled about 4 more minutes. There was no seasoning, not even salt or pepper.
The reason I gave ambiance three stars was because the smell of grilled broccoli permeated the second floor. We were seated near the open kitchen and perhaps that is why the odor was so offensive.
Such an amazing experience. Service was outstanding, our server Eric was very attentive and had a good sense of humor. I ordered the duck breast and it was cooked to perfection. My sister had the steak and my husband the duck sausage. Everything was delicious. We will be back. Thank you!
The duck, Brussels sprouts and beets were all excellent. Very good choice of ice cream and sorbet.
Great service and food! Love the aesthetic of the place as well!
Post-wedding dinner I won't forget. Food was pricey but a la carte so worth it. Service was amazing. The kitchen is right there so you can see everything being prepared for you. The wine list is impressive. Even the bussers are observant and friendly. Definitely coming back for anniversaries and holidays.
Everything was terrific but our waiter Ricky, was incredibly knowledgeable about the food and wine and helped make our evening really memorable. We will ask for him to wait on us next time!
We had a great dinner and a great waitress!
Food was fantastic, loved the aesthetic of the restaurant too. Our server was a bit unfriendly and curt but I would definitely recommend it overall!
Rooster's, as always!, was a great choice for dinner downtown before a Broadway Lights performance. The food is consistently excellent and the staff accommodating and fun. It's hard to make your entree selection, because the menu contains so many dishes (hanger steak, shrimp, scallops) that are our favorite. And each person in our group selects a different side dish so that we can share.
Our server Grant was very knowledgeable with the menu and gave us honest recommendations. The food was fantastic.
I tried the duck breast for the first time and it was delicious!!
We ate at Rooster’s before heading to the theater. Our server, Shannon, was superb. She is the epitome of a professional waitress. Every item ordered was tasty, fresh, hot and right off the stove.
Awesome service and delicious food. The Brussels sprouts and au gratings were the perfect sides to split. We had the hanger steak (a tad chewy) and short ribs (delish). We’d definitely come back!
Great food, perfect portion, great service, zero issues.
Service was quick this time. Kitchen staff very loud. Shouting out order ups. Very annoying. Food is good but pricey.
great food and fun place! The menu and service is superb!
Love Roosters every time I’m in town. This time around was a little less enjoyable than normal because my colleague found a long hair in her kale Caesar salad. Since it was the first item that came out, it ruined the ambiance of the remainder of the meal. Server and manager were very accommodating in taking our salads away and getting us a couple of new ones. They also didn’t charge us for the salads. That was very much appreciated.
Keith was great. “yellowtail” (if it was that... never seen one that thick... used to catch them a lot...) was pink and tough in the middle. ya gotta cook it thru... duck ham, amazing. brussels sprouts, amazing. keith was great.
Good restaurant for night on the town. Easy access and unique dishes. Just remember to say you are going to Roosters when you park in the deck otherwise you may end up paying up front fees for parking during special events. Remember to get your parking validated by Roosters.
Stellar location for performing arts access,a fun crowd of people and interesting ambiance were not enough to offset average service. 4 pieces of very dry bread with only olive oil and no salt, pepper, herbs or balsamic to nibble with it started our dinner. Cocktails are uptown prices - metro high. In our party of 4, 3 of the large plate orders (and they were all different) were so salty they were not edible. We did not have time to wait for another round of food so we ate the sides, paid the bill and left. Really a shame as we had been here several times before and been delighted...
This was my second visit to Roosters, the food was not as good as the the first time, and maybe it was because of my selection but also the location of the table was not ideal it was back near the door to the kitchen and bathroom way back in the restaurant, they need to see if they can shield the kitchen door from the folks in the restaurant.
Very noisy and even though we had a reservation we still had to wait about 20 minutes for our table, which didn’t really start things out on a positive note. Dinner was good, but not outstanding. Might try it again if I’m back in town.
The food was AMAZING, service was excellent and the ambience was perfect for a girls night out. Definitely on the pricier side but it’s worth it!!
I ordered the Hanger Steak and the Peas. The peas were excellent. The steak was on the salty side. Our friends were with us and he got the Steak too and said the same thing.
$25 for a piece of salty steak and includes nothing else. I guess maybe I am just cheap.
My husband ordered the pizza and he loved it.
This place is something else great food.
Food was excellent!! We really enjoyed our dinner here. If we lived in Charlotte we’d be regulars.
