Rooster's Wood-Fired Kitchen - South Park Ratings and Reviews
The service, taste and presentation of food excellent. VERY disappointed of size of portions then price of those small portions. Third visit since it was open.
Even though this is a small plate restaurant it feels like you are getting cheated on portions.
Even the $7 individual salad, in an 8" diameter shallow bowl was there enough you could share. There was a meager small portion of lettuce with just a few thinly sliced veggies. Strange as lettuce isn't costly. Come on' Nobles!
Other main portions were also small not really shareable sizes. Such a shame as food was tasty you wanted more but we both felt cheated by Noble's management that the portions were small not because it was a "small plate" restaurant but because they want to increase profits.
2 @$11 glasses of wine, no dessert, 20% tip. $100 for 2, left hungry and we are not big people.
We met 4 friends from out of town in Charlotte for the night. We drove from Greensboro. A variety of menu items ordered including the sides of pan-fried corn and mac and cheese. Everyone loved it all. First time for the brisket burger which was fantastic. I convinced my guests to have the coconut cake for dessert and it was a winner, as was the caramel brownie.
Great ... fun and friendly server and staff .... consistently good.
I've gone to Rooster's several times over the past few weeks, so this time we decided to bring my mom along. The beets special was amazing, as was the cabbage. Mom had the brisket burger since I had been raving about it and she was not disappointed. We each had dessert (coconut cake, apple pie and sweet potato gelato), so we were really stuffed by the end of the meal.
The ever-changing menu has us addicted.
We'll be back.
We were very disappointed with the Caesar Salad. We have always loved going to Roosters for this salad. They have changed the Romaine to Kale but did not tell us when we ordered it. We did not like it at all as Kale is not Caesar salad and sent it back. We finally told the manager about it and he said they no longer had Romaine lettuce in the kitchen. He agreed with our judgement but the chef decided that "people needed a change." He did not listen to old adage
"If something is successful, why change it?" We will not go back to Roosters anytime in the near future.
I'm loving Rooster's. I've been going on a regular basis for a few months now because I'm addicted to their ever-changing specials menu. They've turned me on to all sorts of veggies that I never knew I liked! Who knew that I like beets? Well, I do if Rooster's prepares them. Never disappointed in any of the menu items at Rooster's. I'll be back next weekend!
My husband had the tomato basil soup which was very tasty. He also had the wings with the dry rub. I had the salmon and we shared the potatoes au gratin. We both enjoyed everything and the serving sizes were more than ample. The restaurant has a cool vibe and the service is very good. Will definitely return on our next trip to Charlotte.
Rooster's South Park is the kind of place where you always ask yourself, why haven't we been back sooner. This evening meal was great. The service was super. It appears Rooster's hasn't followed the trend of barely enough servers to just keep up. Plenty of folks helping each other. We shared an iceberg salad which was much better than eating a whole one. Very good. My wife had the duck confit which was excellent. My hanger steak was as good as usual. Our two sides were mushrooms and fried corn. Both very tasty. Our server was very good, attentive, friendly, not overbearing. Perfect...
We'll be back sooner!
They were great about accommodating my party of 7 at the Southpark location even though I had inadvertently made reservations at the downtown Roosters by mistake. They did have to put me in a back room that was extremely loud. Our food was great, and initially the service was very attentive. As our meal progressed, our service level dropped a bit and there were long waits between visits to our table. All in all, it was a good meal with decent service.
Food was delicious, as always. Brisket burger was wonderful, half BBQ chicken moist and delicious, sides are expensive, but the fried corn is a winner. Requested a back quiet table, and they seated us in quiet private dining room away from the front room din. Service was enthusiastic and lovely. Very nice experience.
