About Rooster's A Noble Grille
North Carolina chef and restaurateur, Jim Noble founded Rooster’s: A Noble Grille with the intention of being relevant without being trendy and to impress without being pretentious. That commitment has carried us through two decades and continues to lead us on today.
Knowing that simple food is harder to execute given there is nowhere to hide the flaws, we go to great lengths to source quality ingredients from local farmers and purveyors. We then take all the time necessary to develop their flavors —using both European and modern techniques—always working from scratch.
Our menu features tried and true staples like our spit-roasted chicken cooked over open fire as well as progressive daily specials and elevated bar bites featuring Executive Chef John Bobby’s latest experiments inspired by the seasons and regional ingredients.
At Rooster’s, you’ll always find something new served with an honest commitment and consistently warm care.

Rooster's A Noble Grille Ratings and Reviews
I brought my wife and daughter here for an early Valentine's dinner. This was our first visit. Our waitress was great and knew the menu well.
We small plated it and shared about a dozen different dishes, all of which were superb.
A little noisy for a guy like me who doesn't hear all that well anyway, but it was a great meal made even better by the service we got, and the company I had with me!
We have always enjoyed Roosters, but this was our last trip as I found out after my reservations were made that the owner had said some derogatory comments concerning the LGBT community in Charlotte. And if feels this way I do not have to enrich his pockets.
A group of 5 visited Nobles on a crowded Saturday evening, but our reservation was ready as expected. Our server was knowledgable and very attentive--made some great suggestions-- and the food/wine was all really good. My out of town guests commented multiple times on the quality of the food and experience.
Everything was great with the food. I ordered the strip steak and wasn’t disappointed. The server recommended the mac n cheese as a side option. Again a solid choice. After making my way through the dessert the place started to fill up with smoke from a hood failure in the kitchen. By the time I was finished with everything the entire restaurant was enveloped. I am surprised that they didn’t evacuate the place knowing it could make everyone very sick. Other than that, I would go back for another meal.
We went for lunch on a Wednesday and there weren't many people there. We were given lots of attention and the food was consistent as usual. I wasn't wild about my sandwich which had some kind of horseradish spread and beef but the hanger steak my friend had was great. I think they are consistent and have most things figured out. Watch busy times, it can get dicey when they have large parties in the back. I love the open kitchen and laid back atmosphere. Enjoyable!
We were very disappointed in the service we received; everyone at our table had ordered iced tea - in a place like this, your glass should never be empty which ours were for quite a while before being refilled. The food portions were surprisingly small - definitely not worth the price. We decided this would be our first and last visit to Rooster's.
Great food, slow service. Fun, vibrant atmosphere and comfortable decor. Meals were delicious, but it seemed like we waited the entire night. Food took an hour, and each time we requested another drink or the bill we wouldn’t see our waiter for 15 minutes at a time. Would return, but will try it over lunch rather than a busy night.
I had not been to this Noble's location in several years, reason being that the last time I went there it was not good. I was so disappointed in my meal. The menu item was blackened filet salad with roquefort dressing. It would characterize the steak as "filet croutons". The dressing was absolutely tasteless and the quality of the greens was poor. Nobles used to be the flagship of fine dining in the Triad but no longer.
We went for my birthday this year. The atmosphere was great (Saturday, during the Holidays) so it was hard not to immediately be impressed. I've cooked in quite a few kitchens, as well as own a catering company, I ordered the Duck Confit. It was honestly just ok. It was a bit overwhelmed with salt, the fried green tomatoes needed something to balance the acidity, and the mushrooms in the rice were pretty hard and not cooked through.
My husband had the half BBQ chicken and a salad and it was very good. Great balance.
We also ordered a cheese board and I always appreciate when you are able to pick the cheeses and meats. The gin and juice sausage was incredible.
There is a an unhurried pace for your meal here. Our server Wendy was gracious and left us plenty of time for ordering and eating. The Friday night vibe was energetic, but not too noisy or boisterous. The food was fantastic, the portions a reasonable size, and the range of choices was nice. The only problem is that I couldn't possibly order everything I wanted.
We made a reservation and they put us right beside the kitchen. There were people shouting all around us the whole time. The service was very disjointed. There was clearly some sort of conflict between our server and the food runners.
The salads are TINY and they are ok. Nothing creative.
I️ got a basic salad with salmon. He asked me how I️ wanted my salmon prepared and I️ said “medium well.” It was completely over cooked. Not ok for a $16 piece of salmon and a handful of lettuce.
We patronized this restaurant for over 20 years. Things have changed drastically, and not for the better. When we returned this weekend it was an epic fail. Despite our OpenTable reservations, we were seated in a backroom for "overflow" (according to our hostess). Each table in this room had a different server who was also waiting on tables in the main restaurant. Service was slow to non-existent. My husband was given a glass of water that was less than half full, with the promise that they would return to fill it. It took 20 minutes and more than one server passing with the water pitcher to finally get that to happen. We were served cocktails and bread, then our server disappeared into the main room. We were there for over 40 minutes with out placing our food order, though we tried to get someone's attention. When the waitress finally returned, we asked for the check, which they waived. We left and reclaimed our evening by getting dinner at a different restaurant. We will NOT be going back.
