Rooster's A Noble Grille
Knowing that simple food is harder to execute given there is nowhere to hide the flaws, we go to great lengths to source quality ingredients from local farmers and purveyors. We then take all the time necessary to develop their flavors —using both European and modern techniques—always working from scratch.
Our menu features tried and true staples like our spit-roasted chicken cooked over open fire as well as progressive daily specials and elevated bar bites featuring Executive Chef John Bobby’s latest experiments inspired by the seasons and regional ingredients.
At Rooster’s, you’ll always find something new served with an honest commitment and consistently warm care.
Food was good BUT WAAAAAAAY over priced.
Wonderful music, service and food on the patio! Thank you!
Loud, tables close together, slow service, overpriced
Appetizers were meh. The arugala salad was too light on the mozzarella and basalmic glaze, and the croutons were far overdone. The peaches had potential to be a great fish but 90% of the peaches weren't ripe enough. The lamb pasta was absolutely delicious but a very small portion size, which i wish the waitress notified us about beforehand after we stayed we we're splitting.
Also none of the dishes were split ahead of time after we stated we were doing so.
The ambiance was awesome, we will be back at some point and hope some of these issues are ironed out.
I made a reservation on OpenTable for last Friday night for my family (8 people) who were in town for a white coat ceremony for Wake Medical School and arrived at the restaurant to find the restaurant was closed for the night. I should have been contacted by Nobles or notified through open table if our reservation was not going to be honored. Instead I had to scramble at the last minute to find a place for dinner for 8 people on a Friday night. It was very disappointing.
Our meal was great the food was wonderful and our server “MACY”. was fantastic
We’ve dinning at this location for years and have enjoyed great food and service, unfortunately, and I hate to give bad reviews our experience last Saturday evening was beyond disappointing.. firstly the menu was very limited due to renovations starting the next week, we had to return our Shrimp Bisque starters as it was bland and barely warm, and basically pretty disgusting..we were offered the Tomato Bisque as an alternative and this was somewhat better, my Lamb Pasta was extremely Vinegary and also barely warm, the rest of our parties food was in their opinion so so but definitely not up to par.. we mentioned this to our server ( whom was the only good experience of the evening ) he told us the restaurant was about to close on the Monday after the weekend for renovations so the Kitchen had little fresh food as not wanting to have perishables leftover so we felt that we were being served anything left in the fridges to get rid of it. Not Good.
Food is too expensive for the portion you get. Also, most entrees, while priced 15 or more, do not come with a side and the sides are 6.00 to 8.00 a piece. We did, however, enjoy the service of our waitress. He eas knowledgeable about the menu items and gave great suggestions.
My husband liked the shrimp & grits here less than at other restaurants because the grits were larger and the sauce was a bit different than he was accustomed to. He will order something else next time.
Anthony was remarkable
The hostess and waitress were very good! Food was excellent, both appetizers and entre
Overall the food was very good. However, the salad was heavy with dressing and the wine pour was small.
Entrees were good. It was difficult to hear because of noise level. Actually prefer lunch here.
Met a friend, set outside on the shaded paitifood and service was excellent
Slow service and food wasn’t up to par!
Great food, service and atmosphere.
Not only great food and service. More than fair pricing for the high quality.
Service is always top notch and the food is always delicious. There is no view and the seating is very close together but you feel pampered by the staff.
Best food and service in entire state
Overall it was very good, but there was a little mixup in our order and it took a while to get it resolved. The food was good. Nice venue. Relaxing.
Best food in the area. I love their menu because it is so unique. I also love that they use fresh local ingredients in all their recipes.
Our server was excellent - polite, professional and friendly. Very knowledgeable about the specials and was able to answer all our questions.
We had 8 people at the table and the service was quick. The food delicious!!
Waiter Patrick was the best!
This was our second trip to Rooster's, and it was wonderful. My husband and I lazily made our way through the menu and ordered slowly. The waitress was very accommodating and made fantastic recommendations. The food was excellent, especially the white fish and the seasonal salad. We will be back.
Fantastic food, a bit crowded, but definitely worth the price. I loved it
Actually, the food was, to my taste, surprisingly uninteresting. Only had soup and a salad, though, so not a lot to critique, but the salad was really bland but for the olives. My wife had fried oysters in her salad, and they were nice, but not exceptional. Lettuce was crisp, but Ceasar dressing (probably house) and croutons lent nothing. Soup did not set itself apart. My wife, however, did thoroughly enjoy her salad.
However, after being in place for several years now, the restaurant itself was not particularly busy at 6:45pm on Saturday night. If I'm the manager... too many still empty tables. Surely the Saturday night crowd knows it's there. Oh, and the seating... along the perimeter... the wall, was inconsiderately close. Hard for the wait staff, and especially hard on the guests. We felt sorry for them as we watched. Waitress indicated the filet mignon is 7oz. and a choice cut. $41.00 seemed a little out of line, but who knows, it may have been outstanding making it worth every penny.
Anyway, second try, so will not return.
Great food and service. Expensive. Good location. Nice ambience.
Awesome food and great service!
i had a reservation. we were seated and there were no menu's available. we had to wait
for someone to acknowledge we were even there. we were given bread and nothing else.
the decaf coffee was barely drinkable.
the only good thing was the food and dessert. i did not leave very happy because it was
my anniversary dinner.
The fresh catch special was excellent.
Always a pleasure to see staff members we have known for years. Nobles remains innovative with its menu offerings. We enjoyed the amberjack preparation and a la cart vegetables. Salads and desserts were seasonal and quite vibrant. I was especially fond of their take on a wonderful blackberry cheese cake with a touch of orange marmalade. Wine list is expansive and continues to evolve.
Impeccable experience, came in here with my boys for my oldest sons 22nd bday the food was absolutely amazing and so was the drinks and service thank you for a memorable experience 💝
Our server was prompt initially, but disappeared on us. We had to get up and ask her for bread and more wine. The surrounding tables were served 2 baskets of bread and they had arrived after us. I got up to ask her for the items when I saw her standing in back talking with the other servers. This the 2nd second time in a row we have had very bad service here. The food is good, but worth the price for the service.
Dined here after Wake Forest graduation. Not only was the food, ambiance and staff excellent, they showed such enthusiasm for our son's big day! Obviously it was a busy day with many parties there, but the food came out within acceptable timeline and with a smile. Can't wait to go back another time!!
Nobles does not ever disappoint. We celebrated our 11-year wedding anniversary here this weekend. Our server, John, was super knowledgeable and helped us select courses that were outstanding. The soft shell crab dish is the best thing in Winston right now!
Always a great seasonal menu, with interesting food combinations and great desserts! I love the patio in the summer. Excellent service, knowledgeable waiter, great wine selections.
Everything was incredible, especially enjoyed the oysters and wine. Service was also amazing!
Everything from where we were seated to the wine was bad. The salad had little flavor, the fish cooked poorly, and a waiter who couldn't manage his workload tried hard to seem skilled.
Overall a very nice experience, but a few small issues kept it form being outstanding. First, booth seating had masking tape covering cuts in the fabric, which made it look cheap. Second, there were several pieces of gum stuck under table, which is always distasteful, and should be checked for by wait staff. Waiter was friendly and attentive, but it took a while for menus to be ready, which seemed a little odd. Food was excellent, as has been our experience in the past. We love the meats, cheeses and olives, which are all top notch. This will still be a regular for special occasions for us, but a little more attention to small details will help to keep it at the top of our list.
Excellent and well prepared selection of protein, vegetable, salad and dessert items. Constantly refreshed, very nice presentation of both the dessert table and the buffet table.
Excellent, Excellent, absolutely Excellent... I took my wife there for our anniversary, and it was everything you hope for and expect; it was a dining experience. The filet and the porterhouse were incredible, Patrick, our server, did a superb job taking care of us, the maitre d' was very helpful and accommodating, everything was wonderful. Thank you.
Wow what a review! We try hard to hit a home run every time at bat, and it's great to hear the fans cheer! Patrick does a great job See you soon! John
Overpriced for small portions. Shrimp was overcooked. 2 of our 4 dishes were warm to cool. Bread pudding was burned. Made a reservation for my sons birthday but was put in some type of strange back room away from the restaurant atmosphere.
