Rooster's A Noble Grille
Knowing that simple food is harder to execute given there is nowhere to hide the flaws, we go to great lengths to source quality ingredients from local farmers and purveyors. We then take all the time necessary to develop their flavors —using both European and modern techniques—always working from scratch.
Our menu features tried and true staples like our spit-roasted chicken cooked over open fire as well as progressive daily specials and elevated bar bites featuring Executive Chef John Bobby’s latest experiments inspired by the seasons and regional ingredients.
At Rooster’s, you’ll always find something new served with an honest commitment and consistently warm care.
Tamara was absolutely divine! Very knowledgeable of the menu and made multiple wonderful recommendations.
The crab cake was unremarkable and the succotash tasted overcooked/burnt. Salad was excellent.
My favorite restaurant
Food is always awesome. Great place for a quiet date night.
Great shaded patio for lunch. Server Chandler was attentive and very accommodating to every request. The food was great as always and never disappoints. The menu had a great variety of choices for lunch. Food came out hot and great portion size. We will be back very soon.
Rooster’s is my favorite restaurant in town. Great for a date night or nice night out with friends/family. The food is always exceptional. Best shrimp and grits in town! I had the vegetable plate which was delicious. Never disappointed!
Excellent Dining experience in all respects. Service was superb.
Ordered 2 luncheon-portioned grilled salmon salads. The salmon was generously sized and cooked to perfect temp. The blue cheese dressing (my choice) was amazing; homemade and decadent. The salad greens were minimal. Our service was stellar. My bill with tip: 2 salads, (we drank water), $64!!!!
So, would I recommend Rooster's/Nobles to a friend (asks OpenTable)? Sure, if their surnames is Bezos. Seriously, Winston Salem is not NYC, San Fran, or heck, even Raleigh. Yeeeesh.
It was a special night, old friends were in from Atlanta and it was my birthday. We all enjoyed the food, wine and chance to sit and talk until late into the evening. No one made us feel rushed to leave. All courses up to Atlanta fine dining!
Food is outstanding, service is even better Wendy is one of the best servers we have had anywhere. Thats the good. This place is over the top LOUD. We go to dinner with our family and expect to be able to carry on a conversation. In order to do that in this place you have to shout at your dinner partners. The tables are jammed so close together it becomes difficult to even get to it. Noise level will keep us away and thats a real shame because everything else is so good.
What a wonderful place! Food was excellent and service was fantastic. Great attention to the details!
My experience is usually phenomenal this time wasn’t that awesome the timing of the waiter was way off we really didn’t get to place our order until like 30 mins after getting there he was pretty busy but the flow of things was just off i had to mention to him that it is in fact a weekday though we were there for my moms birthday we wanted to get out of there in a timely manner. The birthday surprise was awesome i ordered the wings this time and they were burnt and salty. My mom got the veggie platter and complained also about the salt content on her asparagus, idk this visit just wasn’t what it’s been like the previous 3 times i visited.
Great place to celebrate two birthdays in our family! Everyone who intersected with our table were great. Only thing lacking were the desserts.
Not bad but not great. Service was only so-so. Mixed feelings on the food - some very good and some not so good. Crab cakes - very good. Jalapeno corn pudding - terrific but not really a pudding. Pasta not so much. Good selection of side dishes. Ambiance was very good. Might be spoiled by some of the other places we've been but we felt Rooster's fell short of them. The menu was odd. It had a burger and sliders mixed in the entrees. Guess that's OK but they had some things in the 'small plate' section that could have been in the entree section (crab cake with succotash - which, by the way, was excellent). You just had to read the menu very carefully, didn't seem to be well laid out. Service wasn't great. Had to ask to have the extra 2 place settings removed from the table. Half way through dinner another server came by, threw a drink menu on our table, and said she'll be back with menus. It was fairly obvious that we already had menus. We also tried a slice of buttermilk pie - terrible. Didn't seem to be fresh and you could barely cut the crust. Gave up on the crust after the first bite. Such a shame, it is a beautiful place. I'd recommend more (much more) training for the servers, improving the menu layout, and upping the food quality just a bit to justify the prices ($41 for a small filet mignon with a few small potatoes). Rooster's has the potential to be really good, just need a little tweaking. Unfortunately we'll be trying other places in the future.
From the second we walked in, service was amazing. Phenomenal menu options with exceptional preparation and presentation of everyone’s meal. Great experience each time we visit Nobles.
My wife and I had dinner with another couple. The food was unbelievably good. The desserts were great and the service was excellent. I would Highly recommend this restaurant if you looking for fine dining.
Wonderful, pleasant and attentive waitress. The food was delicious. I appreciated offering a taste of a beer before ordering. We will be back but only for special occasions because it is pricy. Tracie
Waiter was very “green” and not tuned in to guests. He did not watch table. He cleared one guests plate before others had finished eating.
Food was excellent.
Small portions. Food was very very rich.
Great desserts and great drinks.
Food was solid, not spectacular. Portions were to the larger side. Restaurant was beautiful. Service was a bit slow though restaurant was only about half full. Wine by the glass options a bit underwhelming. 4 or 5 restaurants that i have been to in the area would rank ahead of Roosters.
We had a fantastic meal and John was great attending to our gluten-free needs and get us out of there in a shorter timeframe, which we needed!! Will be back many times!
We have been long time patrons of Nobles and then Roosters. Unfortunately the restaurant has lost its cache. Not the dress up festive place to go in the past. Roosters is a lot more casual, kids in gym shorts and tee shirts. The last three times to Roosters the food has been poor (with the exception of one order of salmon) and the wait time after placing the order, terribly long. The menu is confusing and not as appealing as it used to be. We hope changes will be made.
We've been going to Noble's for probably 35 years. We've never been disappointed. (And it's the best New Year's Eve party in town!)
Rooster's Noble Grille never disappoints! The food and service are always outstanding. What a great restaurant!
This restaurant is great for friends and romance. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is contemporary and clean but very warm and inviting too.
The food is always very very good and we like to dine here often. Our only complaint is the noise level. It is difficult to hear the conversation at your table because of the excessive noise in the restaurant. This time we ate outside and that is much better, even though you still have to hear the roar of the air conditioner.
The service was not very good on this visit. It took about 10 minutes before the server greeted us at the table. The 2 extra place settings remained on the table until we received the salads. The bread and olive oil remained on the table until we finished the dessert.
One of the dinners had to be recooked do to an allergy. The steak was suppose to be medium rare which it was the first time but the recook was raw/rare. The kitchen still sent out the steak even after slicing it and knowing it wasn't the correct temperature. This new format of pricing the entrees and all the sides are priced separately is unacceptable. Rooster's is not a Tapas Restaurant...price the items as a complete meal!
This dinner cost $150 and it was overpriced. One guest didn't even eat their meal.
The atmosphere was sophisticated but not stuffy. We noticed when we first sat down there was no salt or pepper on the table. And this was because, as we would soon find out, the food was seasoned to perfection. The plates were generous in size and the service was impeccable. Some of if not the best food we have ever eaten.
Ordered steak medium and it was cooked well done. Enough said
Hannah was awesome. Food has great flavor. Wine list had value.
We enjoyed dining at Nobles to reconnect with old friends. The food was delicious and the service was great!
we dined outdoors and it was magical evening with Patrick as our server. He knows the menu so well and knows how to sell but not push. A real top notch professional! All of our meals were excellently prepared giving pause to something wonderful happening in the kitchen. John has mastered the art of a perfect front and back of the house staff who work seamlessly for a delightful dining experience. KUDOS!!
My first lunch experience at Noble’s was no different than dinner. Food is fresh and perfect; service is top notch.
Wait staff was friendly but nonobtrusive. Food was ok, but took a very long time to get to us, and it was just sandwiches and fries, with very few patrons in the restaurant. I’ve been to Roosters in the evening and enjoyed it. I wouldn’t go back for a lunch though.
It was great. Wine menu extensive. Lots of different meat options. Veggies a la carte.
Our server was terrific... attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Each item ordered was prepared perfectly according to individual needs. Upbeat atmosphere, too! Definitely a"go-to" place!
Food was amazing. We sat next to a big party so it was VERY loud. That was our only complaint.
Went to lunch, food was good way too over priced for the quality and quantity.
Wonderful music, service and food on the patio! Thank you!
Loud, tables close together, slow service, overpriced
