Rooster in the Garden Ristorante
At The Rooster in The Garden Ristorante we always say, "Eat well, laugh often, love much!" Nothing else expresses a complete surmise of the Italian way of living than for us to bring you what we love the most. We lovingly make our pasta daily, by hand. Our culinary philosophy is firmly rooted in the Italian tradition of seasonality and the integrity of our ingredients. Inspired by mother Italy, our menu is both traditional and modern. We spend an enormous amount of time sourcing ingredients, we derive great pleasure in working with local producers to bring the best product to your table, and what we can't find locally, we source in Italy through a network of family and friends developed over the course of our lifetime.
Our first time, dinner on a Monday night. Very good cocktails, adequately priced. Recommend the Cucumber Martini. Pastas were very good, some of the best gnocchi we’ve had. Carbonara was authentic (no cream), and taste was right, 4/5 stars. Panda cotta dessert was good, described as covered in chocolate ganache with pistachios on top. Turned out to be a pistachio panda cotta (positive surprise, but not if you planned to pick the pistachios off the top), and chocolate layer was minimal, 3/5 stars.
Minor nitpick: excellent bread is served with a little bowl of a lot of balsamic mixed with a bit of olive oil, rather than the other way around. When we asked for more olive oil, another identical bowl was delivered. Chef’s terrific bread would be much better served by giving diners a bottle of good olive oil and forgoing the balsamic altogether.
Major bone to pick: we almost always enjoy a bottle of wine with dinner. Wine here was priced across the list at 3 times retail (Whitehaven Sauvignon Blanc, $14 at store, was $45. Cloudy Bay, $25 retail, was $60). Wines seemed to be priced either for a clientele that has no clue, or at price points designed not to sell. Either way, seemed like an arrogant move.
Will return, possibly drinking our wine before or after.
The food was delicious. The server checked on me and my date every so often to make sure we loved our dish and it was an environment that i would love to go back to again.
Our experience was amazing. The food was absolutely delicious and we loved the 50% off wine special. Our server was extremely knowledgeable and personable.
We really loved our experience at your restaurant. Service, food and atmosphere was perfect. Definitely will return. The gentleman playing music was a bit too loud, but we managed to hear each other okay.
Unfortunately they have made some changes
Great place! Great food and service too!
Food was phenomenal, will definitely be coming back in the near future
It was surprisingly delicious! I had the wild caught salmon and Brussel sprouts and a bruschetta app which was soooo good. He had the pear gorgonzola salad and homemade pasta carbonara. We opted to sit outside on this lovely night and it was mildly entertaining listening to boom boxes drive by lol
Our server Leah was a doll...def going back!
Charming restaurant with caring service, a nice menu (Italian) and a good wine list. Well located in the heart of downtown Fort Pierce.
Delicious food, great service! Perfect for brunch.
Great service, & absolutely delicious food! The only negative was that we thought it odd that bread or a salad course was not served along with our food (especially being an Italian restaurant). Great place for a date night or special occasion. We will definitely go again!
Family gathering
This place was special. The carbonara was the best I have ever had.
Recently updated great menu prepared by this young chef that recently joined the kitchen staff. The homemade pasta is top notch. The Saturday and Sunday Brunch are amazing and very affordable. I suggest everyone to give it try.
Great food and service. Not loud or congested. This was appreciated by my wife and I as we don't dine inside anymore. Wanted to try the restaurant so we made an exception.you
First visit to Roose
Loved it-had the gnocchi-yummmy. Very soft -just had oral surgery earlier in the week and I was able to eat. Great service. Lovely ambiance
Second visit but first time for brunch. Food and cocktails were delicious! Our service was excellent.
High quality, fresh food. We enjoyed our meal from beginning to end.
Service was excellent! Very expensive. Should have a lunch menu. Can’t afford to eat there too often.
Michael was our waiter and he was absolutely fabulous!!!
The food was absolutely delicious! We heard there was a new chef and wanted to try this spot out. It was not busy and the all employees were wearing masks. We had the calamari, which was wonderful but for our main course we ordered the special, which was a Scallop and mushroom gnocchi - OMG absolutely delicious!! The bread was also wonderful!! Will defiantly be back.
We LOVED it. From our initial greeting to the final goodbyes the staff could not have been nicer and very efficient. The food was great. The focaccia bread to start was very obviously house made, crunchy and perfect for dipping in the oil and balsamic. four different pasta dishes were ordered, each more delicious than the other. We were there on a Tuesday night and the 'special' was tiramisu after dinner. OMG - one of the best. It was also during the Covid-19 restrictions, so it wasn't crowded at all, so my assessment of the noise level might be off. But I would unhesitatingly recommend it.
Coming from New York City, this reminds me of my old home, artsy and great food! Thanks for taking us at 3 when they close and giving us a great experience! Will be returning soon
The menu has changed. It is Italian now. Before it was a variety of items. Both were and still is very good. I thought it was over priced. I had yellow tail snapper, which was tiny but excellent for $26. If I wanted a salad or a vegetable, that was an extra charge. My husband had NY Strip steak, which was also excellent, for $36. Again, just the steak. An upcharge for any sides.
Our first time here, had a wonderful dinner and service was excellent! Will definitely return.
Dinner prior to theatre. 6 people with varying tastes and appetites. Menu satisfied everyone. Service was excellent.
My husband and I overall had a great experience. We did have a bit of a wait on service but once that began it was a great dinner and dessert! I recommend their burgers. They are farm to table and it was delicious! Oh and their peanut butter pie, YUM.
Our waitress was very attentive and good. Lights were a little bright, but they dimmed them for us gave it better atmosphere. The Hamburgers were great and so were the truffle fries.
Food was fine, but disappointing considering reviews we had read.
This was our first experience dining at this restaurant. We had reserved a table for six for 5:15 as we had tickets for a Sunrise show starting at 7:00. The restaurant was very busy and our server recommended the 3-course "pre-show special menu" in order to make showtime. The drink order was very slow in coming and then the salad course was equally slow. By the time our main course came, we literally had to eat as quickly as we could and had our dessert boxed to go. Having said all that, the food was excellent. All the ingredients were fresh and tasty. The grilled mahi was flaky and hot off the grill accompanied by a bean and corn salsa, yellow rice and fresh spears of asparagus. I enjoyed every bite even though I had to literally wolf it down. I will enjoy returning for a more leisurely meal another time.
Great little restaurant, new to us! Good menu. Attractive.
We had made a reservation a few days in advance and still had to wait for a table. We sat outside waiting for well over 15 minutes for someone to ask if we wanted drinks. Eventually a member of our party went inside and asked for someone to serve us. In our server's defense, it was a busy night and they appeared to be understaffed. We were looking forward to a farm to table experience and it was disappointing. One member of our party sent his food back twice. My husband did enjoy his steak and thought it was done perfectly.
Fresh, flavorful, inventive. Rooster in the Garden is upping the downtown Ft Pierce dining game and they came to play! Brought three generations of family here for relaxing dinner pre-concert and was pleasantly surprised that they had a special 3-course menu in anticipation of the event. Menu included variety of options to appeal to even our pickiest eater. Family raved - and walked away full and content. Will definitely be returning and highly recommend you give it a try too!
Service was not only slow but lacked attentiveness. Caesar salad was ordinary, FF were cold and likely frozen not fresh, fish was ok.
Would not recommend or return.
Food was fabulous! Well above my expectations. The Valentine’s Day modify menu was perfect.
We were a party of 12 and Rooster was very accomodating. Service and food was very good. Noise was minimal, although it wasn't busy. Very comfortable atmosphere.
Our large party came as far as Orlando and Delray. We are family and hadn't seen eachother in over a year. Rooster was kind enough to let us linger long after lunch. We appreciated that and will return next year. Thanks, Rooster!
First time visit to Rooster In The Garden. I dined alone and was made to feel comfortable and welcomed from the moment I arrived. The hostess was kind, the wait staff was excellent and the food and cocktails were both top shelf! I live one hour away but will return soon for another wonderful dining experience!
Very nice place run by the Steakhouse next door, which meant that some of the steak items were on this menu as well.
Food was very good, service not the best, but just OK
Absolutely horrible. The service was the worst. They were very obvious about rushing your order & getting you out as soon as possible. First I asked for a glass of wine. It was served to me in a champagne glass. When I asked for a wine glass, because I had asked him to put ice in it & that glass was too small, he brought the glass & when I poured the wine into that glass it was barely 1/4 full. That was $9. They quickly took our dinner order. He was in Such a hurry he started to walk away before he asked the last person in our party what he wanted for dinner. Appetizers were served & still no bread which we asked for twice. My husband & I both ordered soup of which our soup & salad were served at the same time. My soup was cold & I sent it back to be warmed. By the time I got my soup & started eating it they started bringing the dinners. At this point I haven’t eaten my salad yet as I like to eat the soup first. With my dinner in hand the waiter stood there while I was eating my soup waiting for me to finish it. I nearly chocked my soup down. I ordered prime rib which was overcooked & COLD! Sending it back to warm would have only made it more overcooked. I had to ask where my rice was which when I got it was also cold. I still hadn’t eaten the salad. When they cleaned the dishes away which I told the waiter the dinner was awful & I only ate a very small piece of it he had no comment except to ask how we would like to break up the bill. We were 3 couples. He never even asked if we’d like coffee or dessert. So to be a thorn in his side I asked for coffee as did others. We complained to the manager & never even got an apology. We were not even offered a cup of coffee, a piece of cake or a drink for our troubles. Terrible! DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY!
Pat, I can't apologize enough for your less than stellar experience at the Rooster in the Garden. However, I can assure you that all of these concerns have been addressed and corrected with our service staff and culinary team. If you would like to reach out to me, I would like to offer you an opportunity to revisit our establishment to see that this experience was anything but typical. Thanks, Eric Weber Director of Operations
