Need to book at 10:30 AM?Other great restaurants with availability.
Had a bad dish with the scallops- tasted like bleach and then I got immediately sick after. Pork chop was awesome. Crem brûlée also awesome
Cool, modern interior. Best food in Dayton. The quality could compete in any city. The warm mushroom salad was delicious. The pork chop was sincerely the best I have ever eaten.
This was our first experience at Roost and we very much enjoyed it! The goat cheese board was phenomenal, the drinks were delicious, and my fiancé’s Milanese chicken was fresh and tasty. I would like to comment on my swordfish, however. It came to me luke warm, which was a disappointment. We notified the server of this who offered to return it to be reheated- but, I know once this is done the food wouldn’t be the same and possibly worse. So, I opted to continue eating my luke warm meal. I would like to state that it was tasteful, but not to the standards as I would expect for this type of restaurant. I guess moral of the story would be not to order a chicken dish and a fish dish at the same meal, maybe prep time had something to play into it. Overall, it was a good experience.
Server was great and very friendly and checking enough but not too much on our needs...food was delicious...salmon as main course and scallops appetizer; both fantastic! Will be back and will recommend to anyone...
We were the first ones to the restaurant a little before 5 PM. They sat us at the table next to an exterior wall. My guests had to wear their winter coat the whole entire time and left them disappointed.
I know for sure that they put hundreds of thousands of dollars in renovations but they should’ve taken care of the older part of the restaurant when they did the new renovations.
This was one of the best meals of my life.
Food was stellar. Filet and pork chop Brussels sprouts goat cheese polenta garlic bread wine! It was all delicious! Service was great and ambiance was on point. It was perfect for a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner
Meh. Not exactly what I would’ve expected from all the reviews I’ve seen. The service was good, but the food was so-so for what I paid and there was absolutely no privacy with the tables being as close to one another as they were. If I wanted that kind of experience I would’ve gone to Cheesecake Factory and saved some money. Not at all worth the prices...
Fast friendly service! We brought our 3 kiddos which is probably not the norm, but everyone was super nice and accommodating!
Wonderful dinner as always. Loved the goat cheese appetizer.
Food was excellent. Great service. Love this place.
We waited forever to get refills on our wine glasses that stayed empty most the time. The food came out very cold. My filet was very overcooked and the chef told me she disagreed well I just had went to flemings two weekends before and ordered medium filet there as well. They were about 3 stages away from each other. So someone is not correct. My boyfriends swordfish was tasteless. We had 125 dollar gift card. We both left starving but told them to keep the whole giftcard we would not be returning.
Our server was exceptional. Our food was prepared perfectly. Great experience. Recommend highly
Service was good, our waiter was very nice. We sat next to a window that during warm weather could probably be opened. In February it was almost uncomfortable. The food was good. My husbands dinner was almost cold. Not sure why the other two dinners were warm but could have been warmer. My husband did mention to the waiter that his dinner was cool. The waiter apologized and offered to fix the problem. My husband declined. We were offered a dessert, got chocolate cake to go.
Overall a nice dinner.
Great value for the money with the restaurant week menu. The ambiance of the building adds to the overall effect.
There for Winter Restaurant Week - everything was fine except felt it was too expensive for type and quantity of food received. Chose the most expensive option ($34.20), and the entree had only 2 scallops with a large portion of noodles, no vegetables. Flavor was excellent, but should have had at least one more scallop and some vegetable for the price. The onion soup came in a very small, squatty jar (smaller than 3" square, 1.25" high), filled largely with onions, a small amount of broth and very little cheese. Bomba spumoni ice cream dessert was excellent. Service was excellent.
Great atmosphere, good food and drinks!
Service and food was great!!!!
Very nice evening spent with family. Excellent and attentive service. Delicious dinner. We will return. It’s on the pricey side since salad and sides are a la carte but they were worth it.
The food was amazing. My sister who has been to Italy said her pasta was as good as some she ate in Italy. Service was amazing and the restaurant has that cozy feeling that keeps you coming back.
Excellent food and service as always! Thanks for a wonderful evening!
We went to Roost to celebrate my daughter's 24th birthday. Excellent service by Matthew!
Our food, wine and desserts were incredible. Very nice experience for our celebration.
Roost has very good, mostly Italian food in a very relaxed setting. My heritage breed pork chop on a bed of polenta was very good. The server was attentive and knowledgeable on the menu. The wine list had a lot of I Italian wine at a variety of prices. Roost has valet parking which is handy since the Oregon District relies ons tree parking.
Wonderful food! Our fourth time there in just a few months.
1st rate dinner - food was excellent and Ian's service was also. We would eat at Roost more often if they rotated dishes on the menu more often.
Great cocktail great food always consistent great service.
We have been here before but it seems to have changed. Ordered the pork chop along with my son and we both were disappointed. Tasted my wife manicotti and felt it wasn’t anything better than what you can get at Olive Garden.
House wine at the bar before dinner was greatly overpriced! $16.00 a glass??? Will not be back.
As usual the food was very good . Our service at dinner was exceptional. We like the big city feel of the restaurant.
The bar is very nice with an terrific staff .
Very nice experience, professional/friendly service from everyone. Wonderful food.
A little too noisy but maybe the people next to us were loud talkers.
We had a perfect evening at Roost. From the cocktails at the bar to the dessert - food, service and ambiance was great. Love their bread and dipping sauce and the artichoke appetizer is amazing. Loved their scallop dish and my husband thought his salmon was excellent.
Had the fish special which was outstanding. Service was great as well
Food was not as good as usual.
We were celebrating our 46th wedding anniversary and had a wonderful experience. The chicken and the scallops were superb and our server was friendly yet professional. A very welcoming vibe and we look forward to returning!
Roost Italian is one of our favorite restaurants in the Oregon District of Dayton, OH. Their creativity with their menu and the quality of the food is top notch! Wine list is exceptional. One of our favorite things about Roost is Brooke and her husband Chad. Brooke is such a fun, attentive and engaging server and always takes such good care of us and our friends. Her husband Chad backs her up with attentive service to all her tables. A very kind couple and an asset to this amazing restaurant. Highly recommend dining at Roost!
Exceptional menu, presentation, and wait staff! One of the best restaurants in greater Dayton area.
Lots of good things about this place, I would definitely visit again!
We so enjoyed our evening, we were with our son and family . The back room was perfect and Ian was most attentive!!! The food was delicious!
Overall experience was very good, my wife ordered the Salmon which was awesome, I ordered NY strip steak, one of the specials for the night , and it was somewhat chewy, probably should have gotten the filet, service was good (Ian), will go back and try again..... 👍🏻
We initially were in a very loud room and asked to move. The only option was the bar, which was fine.
The food was very good, but it’s the most we’ve spent on a meal in Dayton for quite a while.
At the end of the night, the owner emerged from the back and camped out at the end of the bar. Didn’t say a word to any of the customers. Kind of odd for a little restaurant in a little American town.
We were going to the convention center to watch our Granddaughter dance in the Nutcracker. Since we had to make showtime and with limited time, our waiter made sure we were served in a timely manner and we made the show with minutes to spare. The food was delicious, the show amazing, could not have been any better!
