Had an delicious birthday dinner on a Saturday night. The server was excellent but the meal took awhile to arrive to the table. Our appetizers came out lightening fast but then we waited at least another 45mins-1hr for our entree. Overall it was great just on the slower side compared to past experiences.
Our favorite restaurant!
Great dining experience
Great service and delicious food. Definitely recommend!
With the outdoor noises we could not hear each other’s normal conversation without yelling. Others in our section did the same so very distracting and uncomfortable.
Terrific food and service! The ravioli was delicious. The wine was excellent. The atmosphere was very nice on the patio with doors open. Looking forward to going back soon!
A perfect evening for business colleagues to meet, drink, and share a great dinner, in an atmosphere that was ideal for conversation. Thank you!
This was our first time at Roost and we were so pleasantly surprised how wonderful it was! The food was delicious as was our service from Lizzy! We will definitely be going back to Roost.
Great food and service but a bit overpriced. The ambiance wasn’t exciting at all. You could touch the person at the next table over with your elbow. If they removed one table and spread out the rest evenly, it would make it better.
The lasagna was burnt on the bottom making it hard as a rock. Frites, meatballs, and my wife’s meal were really good.
First experience at Roost and it was great. The menu was diverse and everything we had was phenomenal, from grilled artichokes, scallops and salmon, pasta, cocktails and dessert. Our server was very knowledgeable and helpful and had great suggestions. Highly recommend enjoying this place.
Mediocre at best overall. Goat cheese board off the shelf from DLM, rainforest crisps and fig spread....scallop appetizer good, wine was nice but pricey, filet so:so, dessert was great. Nothing new on menu for years now...
No air conditioner!
It was too hot / not comfortable!
Foot speed was very slow!
The menu is a little limited, but the food is excellent. The service is very good. The atmosphere is good. A little pricey. Definitely a foodie place.
We were 4 on our party.
We all had a very good time.
Salads were quite small. Main course was delicious and a reasonable size.
Waiter could be a little better informed about the provenance of the food ( salmon in this case) , specially since he said he had been there for 7 years .
We have been to Roost Italian several times for personal outings and business meals and have always had positive experiences, especially with the service. We like the unique offerings among the cocktails and have found certain dishes to be favorites, including the scallops, the swordfish steak, beet salads, and some of the pasta dishes. Only thing we missed last night was any acknowledgement of our wedding anniversary, which I had written in the space indicated on my Open Table reservation. This was not a question of needing anything special in the way of food, but I was surprised that the event was not acknowledged at least in some small way. We enjoyed our celebration in any case.
The food was delicious and was beautifully presented
Great service! Excellent preparation of the meals.
Delicious anniversary dinner on the enclosed patio. Attentive and knowledgeable server. We enjoyed everything - only complaint is that it is pretty pricey. But 5 stars on everything else!
Our server Leslie was awesome! So nice and knew what wines to pair with the food. The food was excellent!
This is the second time we've eaten at Roost. Both times were fantastic. The food was so fresh and flavorful, it did not disappoint. The service was outstanding. The server we had was so friendly and had so much knowledge. We were very impressed. If there was anything I would suggest it would be to have more space so the tables aren't so close to each other. The atmosphere lends itself to very romantic evenings but you are sitting much too close to the next table so very little can be said that is not overheard.
We still enjoyed the evening very much.
The food was amazing! I now consider the Mushroom Crusted Scallops the best thing I've ever ate.
The goat cheese board was amazing! Great place to go for Father’s Day!
The server was very knowledgeable and helpful . The appetizers were excellent. The entrees were very good . I thought the sauce on the steak entree was very salty . So did my dining partner . That was really the only issue . The service was a standout .
They ran out of the main entree, lasanga right after opening. So could not get what i ordered. Overpriced and small portions.
The room we were in was very loud,
It was good as always.
We visited Roost for our 1 year anniversary! Everything was fantastic. We got the spaghetti & lasagna. All delicious! Service was fantastic & the atmosphere was romantic and calm :)
Appetizers were delicious risotto fritters and scallops, the entrees were pretty good, could use a touch salt and pepper. Filet and my wife had a chicken Alfredo dish.
And the creme brûlée tasted great but it was only only like 2 maybe 3oz of cream kinda felt ripped off on dessert.
Wife had a drink the Sicilian was great too.
Overall fantastic; service a little slow to start but great meal , great food ! Would return !
Great atmosphere and the cocktails were amazing! Will definitely recommend!
We had a great experience from the service to the food!
Wonderful Sunday night dinner for four! We each ordered (and shared) a different meal & each was comparably delicious. Cocktails & wine were excellent. Our server, Ian, was knowledgeable & provided just enough attention to make our meal enjoyable. It as been a while since we had been to Roost and we all left wondering why we had taken so long to return!
Found roost on open table. Charming restaurant with outstanding food. Best wine list I have found in Dayton!! Would advise all to visit.
Roost Italian was one of best dining experiences I have ever had and especially in Dayton, Ohio. A great celebration for local talent and food.
All was good. Still, the scallops would have benefited from a more thorough cleaning of “grit” during prep.
My husband and I went to Roost Italian to celebrate our anniversary. Brooke was our waitress and she was phenomenal and personable. The food is amazing quality and I wish I lived closer to go more often!
Everything was great! We will return again!
Dining at Roost is always a special treat. The food is unique and delicious. Staff professional and friendly. First class all the way!
First, we had to push our reservations back 45 minutes, and the hostess was very accommodating. Our server was awesome, Meg, came to our table right away and gave us excellent service throughout. My son ordered the pork chop and loved it. My husband and I however were disappointed with the pasta special we ordered. It was angel hair pasta with beef tips, Brussels sprouts, sugar snap peas, and red peppers. When the dish arrived, it was a heap of darker (the terryaki sauce)angel hair pasta, kind of clumpy. Very little beef, and I did not see any Brussels sprouts, or red peppers. There were a few peas, but they looked like snow peas. This dish would had been so much better if it had the vegetables as advertised, and half of the pasta. First disappointing meal I have had at Roost.
