Overall, it felt like the bartender didn't want people there. The process of checking in, getting the code, and finding the room was engaging and fun, adding to what I hoped the experience would entail. I was there with my significant other to celebrate a birthday. The room size and lighting were on par with other premium lounges we’ve been to but the biggest turn off was blaring techno music that was much too loud for a space that intimate. We struggled to hear the bartender over the music but realized his first words to us were, “It’s a set menu” and that seemed off-putting and standoffish. With an empty room, I would have appreciated if he explained the taste profiles of the six drinks they offer but he wasn’t much for conversation. We both ordered the “Gion” and were less than pleased with the drink. The drink was finished using a cocktail smoker kit and I’m not sure if the wrong type of wood was used or if it was burned too long, but it left a pungent aftertaste. The volume of the music remained constantly obnoxious, as did the contrasting playlist of hip-hop meets techno. Two couples and a group of four friends walked in after we had our drinks. Not wanting to be the last two people in the room, I watched six people leave before deciding to follow suit. Of those who left, including us, no one went back for a second round of drinks. Unfortunately, after the experience I had, I can’t refer any friends and family here. I suggest they add a couple of beer & wine choices for individuals who can’t find anything on the menu they want to drink. Maybe the bartender was having a bad day but he didn’t facilitate a pleasant experience either.

They should practice crowd control if they want the space to be thoroughly enjoyed. I made a reservation expecting to fully enjoy a cocktail and ambiance but there was none. The drinks were good but the staff making the drinks wasn’t engaging and didn’t know the titles of the drinks. They preferred we said which number. As someone who writes about businesses for a living, I was hoping to get more insight on the space and cocktails but that unfortunately did not happen. Our interaction lasted less than 30 minutes. I wouldn’t suggest this place for a group. This some place you show up solo or just with a plus one. It’s a very tight space with limited seating. Not sure I’d put this on my must see list.

Hey there! Thanks for visiting us and for taking time to give us your thoughtful feedback. Your advice about crowd control was spot on, and I appreciate you taking the time to let us know. Since reading your review, we started limiting the number of guests, and the results have been wonderful. The space is much better and more fun with a steady flow of customers. Thank you again for checking out our speakeasy. We hope that you'll give us a try again!

Limited drink menu, drinks were overly sweet and didn’t have a good flavor profile to make it a speakeasy.

Hi there! Thank you so much for visiting us and for taking time to give us your feedback. Since you last visited, we've modified our cocktail menu and added a wider drink variety-- including more liquor-forward drinks and even a tequila option. We think that you'll love our new, unsweetened cocktail options if you visit us again!

This is the weirdest place. They took a hotel room and converted into a “speakeasy”. I wouldn’t call it that. It seems like an afterthought and there is room for maybe two groups.

A WHOLE VIBE!! Perfect for grabbing a drink after/before dinner. There is no food, only a drink menu which consists of 4 drinks! THEY ARE ALL BOMB!! This is more so for a great experience; a place to unwind, sip on a cocktail, & hear some good tunes. Bartender/DJ was super sweet & attentive. You go to the front desk and ask for room 520, they give you a card with a code, & you have to find the room to unlock the hidden gem. Definitely worth a visit, we will be back!! ENJOY!!
