The Rookery’s ever-changing menu features weekly fresh fish specials, beef & bison steak, specialty salads, housemade soups, and other creative dishes incorporating fresh seasonal ingredients from local producers. Including some of the best vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options you’ll find anywhere. Our full bar offers a great selection of regional microbrews, premium liquor, and more than three dozen fine wines.

But it’s not just exceptional food that has earned the Rookery a reputation as one of the most distinctive restaurants in northern Wisconsin. The stunning oversized nature photography prints on canvas that grace the walls of the restaurant lend a unique aura of beauty and serenity to your dining experience.

The Rookery offers an intimate atmosphere for business meetings, corporate retreats, holiday parties, wedding dinners, and other special events. Our main dining room can comfortably seat up to 36 people (with a hidden movable wall for privacy) and our private dining room behind the bar can seat 16. Or book the entire pub and restaurant for groups of up to 50. Outdoors, our garden patio seats 20 people at four tables clustered among beautiful native plantings. Your group is welcome to select from among the creative dishes on our regular dining menu, or we’ll be happy to prepare a special menu just for you, including all meals from lunch to dinner, appetizers to dessert.

Summer 2017 marks the Rookery’s sixth full season of live outdoor music, with free performances every Sunday afternoon (2-5 PM) from June 18 thru October 1, and every Friday evening (5-8 PM) from July 7 thru September 1. Check out our music calendar at www.rookerypub.com/live-music-calendar/.On Sundays we feature a special patio grill menu. The grill fires up at 1:30 and the music begins at 2. On Fridays we serve from our regular dinner menu no matter whether you choose to dine outdoors during the music, or listen for awhile before moving indoors to eat.All outdoor seating and dining is first come first served so we recommend you arrive early to secure your spot!

This place is a hidden northwoods gem! If you are in the Cable area you simply must give it a try. We’ve eaten here many times over the years and have never been anything less than thrilled with our meal. Beautiful decor, excellent food, a nice wine list, great service, and the best greeter anywhere (Arwen the Black Lab) all make for a memorable experience!

I came back here for the second time because if their unique fried bluegill and soba noodle appetizer and it did,not disappoint. My main was northern pike piccata also delicious. For dessert the flourless chocolate cake cannot be beat. Heaven on a plate. Service was excellent. Thank you!

We'll definitely be back! Best prime rib EVER! Red Snapper was so good! Grilled Watermelon w/Feta - Need I say more?! Fantastic atmosphere, service, food, and friendly staff!

This is a fine North Woods dining experience, but with the time it takes to get your food the experience is over and gone south! The Pork Loin was terrific! The Root vegetable rissoto was a mess, uncooked butter and no vegetables F-. The waitress was upbeat and nice but the overall experience was a big let down. The grade was a solid "D" for don't.

Fabulous place...with a lovely wine list. Food a little pricey but also delicious. The musician they had for New Year's Eve was a nice compliment to the entire evening.

We went for a birthday celebration. Food was out of the ordinary, so unexpected for a Pub:) Desserts were wonderful, we had the Key Lime pie, so good. If you are looking to have a dining experience to remember, eat at the Rookery!
