My lunch with a business associate was my first time at ROOH. Check out the house special drink menu - its fun and special. The waiter was very friendly and had great suggestions and insights to the dishes.
I will definitely go again.

We love this place since we were still living in SF. We miss it so much, so we drove all the way up from the South. The food was amazing just like always. But it was very slow. We waited for 40 mins until our orders served. Nice ambience and friendly waiter.

We had a great time! Were seated in time, server was knowledgeable, manager had time to stop by. Tables were cleaned, often, which is rear! Feel that is a very good part of the service. Food was very well presented. The cocktails were nice, and above all my wine went well with the Gushtaba!

Really attentive service, flavorful and colorful food. Appreciated the vegetarian options. The bread was delicious, not greasy. None of the food was greasy. The cocktails were a lot of fun. The menu was a bit daunting but the wait staff was helpful in making recommendations and easy to talk to. Would definitely come back.

Divine food and drinks! Started off with the Pink City spicy cocktail ..loved it!! The service could not have been more excellent and the food was fantastic. We just ate at Jamavar in London and I liked the food better at Rooh! Make sure to order the paneer chili roll and dip it in the sauces ..explosion of delicious flavors. Tandoori ribs and lamb all great! Unbelievably reasonable if you just order from the small plates!! New favorite restaurant..best in the city.

Rooh has an excellent palate and interesting choice of cocktails and drinks and desserts. We were celebrating my fiancee's birthday and it was an amazing experience. We ordered a lot of food and surprisingly we devoured it all. 5 stars for service and food!!

Food is good but limited choices and it's not well crafted. Also the Indian tea is actually latte chai and not masala chai. The servers didn't know much about the food either. For the hefty price, not worth it.

Loved this place, my family drove up all the way from San Jose for my mother’s birthday and everyone loved the food, my family being Indian is really picky with Indian food and this place did not disappoint; our compliments to the chef and the staff, thank you!

We came with high expectations for a celebratory family dinner after reading the reviews and but left a bit disappointed. To be clear, the food and cocktails are excellent and if we had just ordered takeout, this would have been a five star review. I mentioned very clearly in the Opentable reservation that we were celebrating not one but two birthdays. The maitre de accommodated us when we arrived a little early, and after we made a request, even offered us the much nicer circular booths.

But things went downhill after that. After our menus and water was filled, our server came and right away asked what we would like to order. In a fine dining establishment you expect to learn more about their specialization and be walked through some of their recommendations. I think our puzzled looks made him realize and correct himself. The chef's tasting menu was not offered, nor mentioned by our server, so I assume it's not available on Sunday's which is unfortunate. He did not write down the drink and appetizer order but then returned twice to confirm if he got that correctly. On his third trip, he informed us that the new pork rib appetizer he sold us on is not available. The appetizers arrived quickly, but even after another ten minutes passed one of the cocktails had still not arrived. While the appetizers were clearly sized to be shared, they provided no serving spoons. When they asked about dessert at the end, I realized they had clearly forgot this was a birthday celebration and finally when they bill came it included the items that were 'not available'. One more trip back for our server to the register to correct.
I spoke with the maitre on our way out and he was courteous and interested in the details.
But what should have been a memorable family experience was not because of the haphazard service.

My second time at Rooh. Unfortunately not as great as the first time, hence the 4 stars instead of 5. I came here again mostly for the cocktails, but They changed the cocktail menu and the new ones are nowhere near as tasty as before.
The food was excellent with the exception of the scallop dish, the scallops did not taste fresh enough to me.

This was our second time at Rooh in two months. Celebrating special occasions both times (anniversary earlier and a birthday this time). Specific data points why I rated them low:
1. The server this time didn't introduce himself. The next time he came around, politely asked him by saying "Sorry, but didn't catch your name earlier." And that's when he said "Oscar".
2. We loved the Kulchas during our first visit back in August -- so ordered those this time. Also wanted to understand what Chicken Malai Kofta is from the Small Plates section. Oscar didn't appear to be knowledgeable about it. When asked him if it was a curry, he initially said yes. When we asked would it be as curried as say Butter Chicken -- he said no. We ended up ordering it but ended being totally something else -- and extremely small portion size.
3. Besides not introducing himself, Oscar didn't ask us if we were dining for any special occasion or such. We ourselves didn't want to share with him without him asking (since we had it included along when we made the OpenTable reservation that we are celebrating a birthday -- and expected Rooh to be aware of it). Anyways, we drastically scaled back our order -- had few kulchas along with Chicken Malai Kofta and stepped out for some fantastic food hopping in other parts of the city.

With the recent experience, I doubt if we would head back to Rooh the third time.

Food was very - interesting combination of flavors. Prices are reasonable. Service was very disappointing. Half the beer order was filled with warm beer and discovered keg was being refilled and remaining order would take half hour. Other service mishaps too. If they can fix the service issue, this would become an excellent restaurant

The food was excellent - the best Indian food I have eaten in a restaurant in a long time. Each dish had excellent flavor and lot of creativity with use of local ingredients. Even a simple dish like pulao was very good with the use of quinoa and multiple rice mixtures. Will be back again !

The restaurant had a/c blowing hard which made the wait for the second appetizer of 45 minutes seem even longer. Am happy that I didn’t get sick afterwards.

Good wine list but we unfortunately started with cocktails that I didn’t like. If server were to take the cocktail away and asked to take wine order, we might have had more enjoyable meal.

Found this on OpenTable---very enjoyable Indian food, well prepared and particularly good service, with an intelligent, informed, and elegant server. Food was spicy! We were delighted and you have been warned lol.

Chutney sampler was delightful; Monkfish was well prepared, not overcooked, and well spiced. It's a touch noisy and a touch pricey but we'd go back for sure and take friends.

Must be on target for its cuisine; the table next to us was a group of Indian engineers as was the table behind us. On a Thursday night, tables were well filled.

Had a really good dinner until the fire alarm went off for over 20 minutes. Ended up leaving 1/2 the food because it was so loud and gave me a splitting headache. No one, not even the manager offered to come so much as a drink for the inconvenience and leaving 1/2 a meal uneaten. Worst customer service I’ve ever seen.

Open table did not take into account the special notes like allergies and birthday. The staff was unaware. Server did not even tell us what the portion size would be and what it would come with. Lastly if your kitchen closes at 2:30 I don’t think you should take reservations for 2pm. Felt like we were rushed into the whole thing. Over all did not think it was worth the price.

Rooh is excellent from the first interaction on the phone to the service at the table. Unparallel. We have a daughter with many food allergies so I called Rooh to check if they could accommodate her. Our daughter has allergies to peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, dairy, and wheat. The manager on the phone said no problem and the kitchen would make sure no cross contamination occurs. I was skeptical only because most restaurants couldn't do this. This reservation was to celebrate my wife's birthday, and she loves Indian cuisine. We arrived, and the manager remembered my phone conversation, read the notes from OpenTable, and had the chef come out and explain that the kitchen created an allergy-free zone as well as a dedicated server just for my daughter's food. This treatment is beyond our expectations! After all of this, they remembered my wife's birthday and gave us each free dessert! The food was amazing. It's a modern take on Indian cuisine. The flavors are very pronounced, but not overbearing with heat from the spices. My daughter had a special melon and tuna salad, Beef rib - rice - veggies and a mint coconut sorbet with strawberry jelly. She was over the moon. It was the most flavorful meal she has ever had! We loved the Paneer Chili Roll, Potato Doughnut Tikki, Traditional Butter Chicken, Lamb Shank, and Lobster. Yummy. Thank you so much to the team at Rooh, the service, Chef Sarkar, and the staff. Amazing, kind, and talented people! We will be back. - Frank Mong

Service was a little slow at times but the staff was super friendly and very helpful when were were choosing items from the menu. My boyfriend is Indian so the spice was necessarily up to his standard but since this is more of an American/Indian fusion I thought it was delicious! We got the califlower and potato tikki - both were delicious and flavorful. We also go the the butter chicken which was so taste . Naan was just ok
Would definitely come back again if in the area !

The Quinoa Pulav was not up -to the mark. Me being a foodie and tasted food in Michlin star restaurants and traveled India and Europe to taste food in fine cuisines, I was surprised by the carrot's texture in The Quinoa Pulav. It was kinda chewy and not a good texture to strike. A lake of brilliance.

The Dahi Puri was out of the world, taste, presentation, texture . Yes i give 5/5 for that

Rest of the dishes are okay including lightly tasting ice creams.
