While the food is rather unconventional, best Indian food my family has ever had.

It is listed on OpenTable as an exceptional restaurant, the dinner I had there a couple of days ago did not confirm that. First, although the place is listed as an Indian cuisine restaurant it is not. I suggest to change the category to Indian Fusion or similar. Despite the fact that Indian spices are lightly used in certain dishes overall I would describe the food as eclectic with light Indian influence. We sampled two appetizers, the cauliflower and the soufflé ones. Cauliflower was quite tasty, the soufflé highly recommended by the waiter as the best on the menu was nothing to write home about. The beef ribs I ordered as a main course were full of filthy fat, absolutely tasteless and I was a step away from sending the dish back. The other entree was OK but not more than that. Desserts were non-Indian again (a small cake and a piece of pie with a scoop of bluntly tasting ice cream), I would rate them average at best. A bottle of Fuller's Ale was the highlight of the dinner and that says it all. The service was good but they should tone down the hype about their food as it doesn't match the reality.

Fabulous dinner at Rooh, which we had never tried before. This is not your typical Indian Restaurant. Yes, it does serve Indian type food, but much more "updated" than the usual fare. Everyone loved their main dish from the mushrooms (vegetarian) to the Lamb Shank and the short ribs. It was all delicious. Appetizers were a great and unusual start to the dinner as well. We had the oysters and a chicken cheese fondue. We commented that if the man dishes were as good as the appetizers, we were in for a real treat. They did not disappoint!. It was all delicious. Service was a little spotty, but it appeared that they were a little short handed. Nevertheless, we thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Rooh

Love the food here, always creative and delicious combination of traditional flavors mixed up in new ways with untraditional themes. The octopus was amazingly tender and flavorful with the spices and sauces 😋and the deserts are equally as creative and tasty

We liked their snacks, specifically tacos. We ate vegetarian food and overall all of us really liked it. It is different in taste.

The restaurant took our reservation for 9:30pm on Dec 31 but seated us after 10:30pm. When asked about the delay the hostess was extremely rude and informed us - it is out of restaurant's hands if the existing diners don't leave. We had to agree to a $50 per person no show but we were on time and at least expected a kind word or apology. Eating out at an upscale restaurant is all about service and taste. Bad service left a bad taste.

We had a fabulous New Year’s Eve dinner in our first (but not last) visit to ROOH. We had the four course tasting menu and couldn’t finish, although we wanted to because everything from the canapés to the tapioca dessert with truffled ice cream was amazing. Best garlic naan I’ve ever tasted. And our waiter Byush (not sure on spelling) couldn’t have been nicer. A perfect dinner.

Outstanding food paired with mediocre service leads to a meh experience. The server brought the first dishes before the drinks were served...and he seemed puzzled that I had a problem with that. Then 4 of the 5 dishes we ordered were served so fast that it pretty much guaranteed that half of them would be cold by the time we got to them. They were. After the 4th one was thrown on the table we asked the server to slow it down.

I had planned on taking my significant other to Cirque du Soleil and dinner as a Christmas gift, and cast about for a restaurant near the AT&T Park venue. Knowing she prefers vegetarian food, I reviewed menus and thought Rooh's offerings were the best choice. We eat Indian food fairly often, so I felt that Rooh would be well received. And I was not disappointed. We ordered the Chutney Sampler (3) to start and were blown away! We loved the tastes of every one! And that was just the opening act, for we ordered different menu items to share, a common practice with us. All were wonderfully tasty. The Black Dairy Dal was delicious, especially when paired with the Garlic Nan, and the Grain and Vegetable Pulao was fantastic. We were literally savoring every, single, mouthful. Seldom has a dining experience filled me with such joy. We left Rooh with our spirits soaring, properly prepared for the world renowned acrobatics of Cirque du Soleil.

Above average Indian fare for exorbitant prices. Presentation is interesting but the flavors are no different than a lunch buffet. Portions are small for an Indian restaurant. Pomegranate pork ribs stood out, Pullao was interesting but the Keema dish had excessive salt and was nearly inedible. Wine list by the glass is limited. Errors on the wine bottle list were quite obvious and surprising (e.g. misnamed, missing the last number of a vintage 201_). Setting was modern, service was passable. Unlike other aspirational Indian restaurants, the air circulation left much to be desired. Be prepared to smell like naan and butter chicken for the rest of the day.

It was sadly a letdown this time in December about the food they had. The place changed the menu since I visited last in October and was not as relishing. Me and my husband had a wonderful experience last time because of which we thought it'd be special to give my brother a similar experience on his birthday. However, it did not turn out as we expected. We ordered all vegetarian selections- Tandoori carrot and sweet potato, Pumpkin souffle for appetizers with a couple of drinks. The mains included Raw banana kofta in poppy seed gravy, pinwheel paneer, goat cheese and pea kulcha and tandoori roti ending with besan burfi for dessert. While the drinks served were really good, the only thing we liked in food department was pumpkin souffle in appetizers and raw banana kofta in mains which was true to the restaurants name and image of interesting fusion food. Rest all was plain disappointment. The tandoori carrots did not have any tandoori flavor, paneer was hard with a gravy one can find at any average Indian restaurant, the breads were too chewy, not with enough stuffing and even little undercooked. While I appreciate the effort in the dessert, it wasn't tasty as well with chocolate, besan burfi and thandai icecream not getting along at all. The less than average food with very limited portion size and experience was not worth my money at all considering the restaurant to be a highly rated fusion Indian cuisine. To our further disappointment, my husband went again to give one more try after a day and took his office client and colleagues where he ordered an array of non veg dishes which was again a letdown barring a fish appetizer and butter chicken. I am not sure if I'd ever visit again considering my first time was such a memorable experience and next two completely opposite.

Our waiter had quick & easy knowledge of all the menu items we asked about. He asked if we had any allergies at the drink ordering stage - which turned out to be really important. My friend has a nut allergy, and one if the house specialty cocktails she originally ordered had coconut syrup on it.

Cocktails were original, had Indian influences and were delicious! Food was also delectable!

Reservation at 8pm for a high table... all were open when we arrived, but they insisted we wait for a table... so we were left at the bar for 15min without a bar tender even asking if we wanted any water. Bar was completely empty. When we finally sat, we were rushed. We ordered appetizers, the server told us the kitchen was closing for main meal. So we ordered... then when the main meal came, he told us that the desert is last call now. Just rushed the whole time. Don’t let us make an 8pm reservationists you’re going to rush us to eat. Not good... Hesitant to go back

The food was so delicious - all of it! And the cocktails were over the top. I had to stop myself. I had the short ribs which were like butter and my husband had the lamb shank. So tender it fell of the bone. We will definitely be back!

Everything was excellent..... food was genuinely good... and I have dined at Gaggan in Bangkok and Bukhara in New Delhi..... except that once we were finished with our meal and paid our bill.... almost $600 for 4 people... we were asked to leave as they needed the table..... that was not cool.... lost a lot of respect for a first time experience.... that is a big turn off... especially as we had guests with us visiting from LA that we had not seen in 3 years.... very transactional and not good for relationship building with customers....
