We dined during covid times so had to eat outdoors...so it was quite chilly and windy.
Have eaten here several times and it’s always a treat. Creative dishes and great service. Not cheap but very well done!!
We loved it.
The attention was EXCELLENT
THANK YOU FOR AN AWESOME DINNER
Fantastic!! Rooh always raises the bar of upscale dining with some if the most delicious food and cocktails. Everything we ordered was delicious and uniquely creative. Saffron Pao was one of the best we ever had. Seabass , chicken Ghee roast were exceptional. The cocktails were the highlight of our dinner complimenting our dinner.
The desserts are a must try! Can’t wait to come back! Cheers to the whole team for an exceptional effort during social distancing dining.
Dinner for 4, Tasty food, outdoor seating, interesting cocktails, sumptuous meal.
Indian Fusion done right. Good balance!
Ordered one cocktail each, two small plates and two large plates and two desserts.
Quite filling and delicious.
Chilli Cheese Naan is a must try!
Approx 60$ per head
They took care of the place pretty well, social distancing and cleaning, given the post Covid circumstances.
Outdoor seating is nice, would suggest to get some coats though as it gets little chilly during sunset.
Overall a great place for dinner.
Great food and outdoor seating! Service was well done considering COVID19.
I ate at Rooh the weekend it reopened after the COVID-19 shutdown. They did a fantastic job of creating a good atmosphere with appropriate social distance. All the staff wore masks appropriately throughout our time. Not to mention the food and cocktails were fabulous! Would highly recommend.
The service food and ambiance all of the bases were covered at this place. Would definitely go again.
Good food but prices are pretty high for what you get. My girlfriend and I shared an entre with a small bread with 2 drinks and it was $100 before tip. Like what?
The service and food were great. I was not a fan of the Old Fashion, although it did have a cool “ROOH” branded ice cube. The food was all very good - especially the Paneer Pinwheel. The amount of food was also spot on - I tend to eat a lot and left feeling satisfied yet not overstuffed. It is a fairly small place, but doesn’t feel too cramped. It was not super quiet. But, it also wasn’t ridiculously loud, which makes it good if you are going to have a conversation. I thought it was a little overpriced for what it was. But I would definitely return.
I think some dishes were good and others were but it was way overpriced. I felt that this restaurant does provide a decent experience but may not be worth what they are charging for it.
There were couple of dishes that let us down - Butter Chicken and Duck haleem. Rest were good and lamb was amazing.
Lovely service and.extraordinary food !
Unfortunately they were out of the mushroom dish I chose from the menu. Would have been nice if our waiter advise us in advance at time of distributing the menus. Also , they did carry my go to after dinner drink, Baileys Irish cream; rather the substitute with lovely mango Indian version. Quite an experience for the palette as indeed was the entire culinary event Charming place and very fun cocktails. Recommended YES!
This was my third time at this restaurant. Each time the food doesn't disappoint. We had the butter chicken and the lamb entree. The flavors are awesome and trying to pick which I liked better is very difficult. My last visits we ordered other entrees and they were just as good. Not sure you could find a bad entree here. The only reason for the four stars vs. five was that the price is high for the amount of food delivered. I recommend this place if you are interested in good Indian food.
Food was amazing. The drinks were amazing. Our server Piyush have us some amazing recommendations. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal. It is fine dining but worth the money paid.
My boyfriend and I dine at Rooh on regular bases. It’s the best Indian restaurant in the Bay Area. Servers are super friendly. Jeffrey is always nice to us. We will be back soon.
Food is very good but mocktails were a let down. We tried Collins, it had no taste. Overall good service, great ambiance and excellent butter chicken!!!
We had the worst experience at Rooh SF on Valentines Day. I was really looking forward to eating here, as we have eaten here in the past and its usually always delicious. We chose the restaurant a month or so ago knowing they were not going to do a prefixed menu. I booked us tickets to an event prior to dinner and we finished early there. Very early so we went to grab a drink at a bar and called Rooh SF to see if we could come 30 minutes earlier at 930. We were told no. When we got to Rooh at 948 (our reservation was at 10) there were 15+ tables empty and set up. Hmmm and I couldnt have come in at 930? The menu ended up being fixed. A phone call I received the day prior to our reservation. And the cost 80 per person and 30 dollars extra for wine pairing. Thats fine. We don’t mind spending money on delicious food. However, the food was not delicious. It was a major let down and the wine pairing we could not pair as the wine was never brought until the end of course and once was completely forgotten about and brought for the second course after the first had already been eaten. It was a shame ! The restaurant at this point past 10pm was not busy. After sitting there for 25 + minutes waiting for the dessert course we let the waiter know we had been there for 25 minutes waiting. We waited for another 15 minutes and then just asked for the bill and left. We never did receive our dessert course. We paid 300 for the bill. It was a MAJOR let down. I am so beyond disappointed in Rooh SF. I am unsure if I will ever go here again.
Love the food, ambience and service.
Absolutely love Rooh! Food was amazing and service was great. Can’t wait to go back.
This is our 2nd time celebrating a birthday at ROOH. We love the cocktails and the service was great. There were a couple hit and misses for us. The duck (small plate) was a miss for us, it became cold real fast and it became thick like jello. Our favorite was the cauliflower, that was very good. I thought the portion of the short rib was very small and just felt for that price it could of been more. We just felt the portions were too small for the price. Overall, we had a nice evening.
Our server was extremely helpful with recommendations, and everything we ordered was stellar!
We went to this restaurant on a Monday night. It had been a long time since I visited this restaurant may be good for the wallet. I made a special request of Jain food items. The chef was able to comply by my dietary restrictions and make a few food items extremely delicious and pretty looking. I ordered the avocado bhel and Paneer curry, the avocado bhel had its own unique flavor and preparation was different from the tradition bhel.
It was a bit noisy for a Monday night but our server took good care of us.
Love the dinner, hated the brunch. No one took our order or stopped by our table for like 20 minutes. Multiple waiters were asking us about our selection. It got really cold all of sudden in the middle of our meal. Our food came out sporadically. It was just a very off brunch - which is funny because the dinners there are fantastic.
Reached at 8:45 for a 9pm table. I've been here before and wanted to try a few new things, so I booked a table during restaurant week. When we asked for that menu, they said they're sold out. We insisted on it and they absolutely said no. Said come back next time maybe. How could they have been sold out if each of the item is available on the regular menu? Typical sham to get customers to come in and then bait and switch.
We were offered a bar seat, but were told we'd have to wait for a table and were finally seated at 9:15
Absolutely horrendous! Our food took more than an hour and each server told us that they're not actually our servers.
Average and small portion sizes.
Overall, a very disappointing experience at 100$ pp.
We got a table by the restrooms which was very disappointing. The food was mediocre and nothing innovative. They haven’t changed their menu much.
Loved Rooh. Excellent cocktails to pair with delicious food. The portions were generous and the flavors were on the spot. Ambiance was great too
I am so glad I got the chance to try ROOH, which hails from the Good Times Restaurant Group, and has become so successful in their location on Brannan Street a mere blocks from Oracle Park. When we arrived for our reservations on a Friday night at 5:30 p.m. there were a few customers inside it was practically empty, but by the time we left they were packed the brim with people waiting in their vestibule and outside. One of the many reasons we selected ROOH to dine at was because the description of their dishes were written online so sumptuously that my friend and I were sold upon first glance!
This was one of the best meals I have had in quite some time and one of the finest Indian meals perhaps ever and at sixty-five dollars it wasn't too expensive to enjoy greatness. Each dish outclassed and outshone the next, I now get the full realization of what a progressive menu is, and I can't wait to experience my next food adventure at ROOH, whether it be cocktails at the bar or a nice warm meal in their dining room, this was an experience to be relived over and over again!
Food was good. But service was one of the slowest I have experienced in a long time. It took us almost 2.5 hours to get our food and eat it. At many points, it seemed as though they had completely forgotten about our food. Disappointed.
Tasty food, lively ambience, good SOMA spot for a young crowd. Service spotty.
Great location and unique high quality Indian food experiences.
Rooh has been a go-to for groups for my team for years, but this last experience was a disappointment. The menu has always been a bit confusing, but the new menu takes that to a whole new level. While we asked for assistance, the waiter did not properly recommend the amount of dishes for the six of us. Even after ordering seconds, we left not completely full. I feel like the prices are staying the same while the portion sizes are decreasing.
Wonderful spot to get creative Indian food! Would recommend
Great food. Great service. Lots of options. Drink menu was wonderful. Atmosphere was great.
Well cooked food, low on oiliness. Thought it was pricey for the kind and amount of food you are served. Service was not frequent. We ended up ordering a side dish from the bus-person, but I guess he never placed our order and after 12 minutes, we flagged down a waiter (not ours) to check on the additional order we made and it was never placed. We went at noon on a weekend and my husband wasn't hungry so he ordered a tuna tartare which was under the main entree section, but I guess the waiter assumed that was to be an appetizer and my meat main was to share. They did not serve my main until the tartare was finished. Unfortunately, he just sat there watching me eat my main b/c he does not eat meat and while we waited for the side of vegan curry, which came well after I finished my meal. So overall, service was ok, given the two mishaps.
Fabulous! The food was amazing. I would definitely recommend to anyone that likes good/classy Indian.
The food was good but the waitress was pushy and we waited quite long time to get our appetizer/small plates.
Tiny portions and frankly not very impressed given the hype. I tried the prix fix restaurant week menu along with a himachal mocktail- was hungry so had to order another side dish.
