We’ve been here twice now and it hasn’t disappointed. Everything we’ve tried has a full palate of flavors. The dishes that have multiple sauces or components are all well thought out and the flavors go together perfectly. This is one of our favorite places in the country to eat.
The food was beautiful and delicious. The manager and wait staff were all incredibly sweet and accommodating. Definitely my top dining experience in the last few months.
The food was fine but not as extraordinary as the price. ROOH is just another noisy hip venue with more brand than content. Didn’t help that we had been to Mourad a few nights earlier where there was better food and service in a quieter, more elegant setting for the same price.
Loved food! Creative and delicious
Very loud - hard to have conversation.
Service a bit slow.
Awesome! I am surely going to try Baar Baar in NY as well
My third visit and best meal I have had,so munch fun sharing and tasting so many flavors.
Looking forward to bringing my East Bay Friends to ROOH!
Fantastic flavorful and creative dishes!
We went to Rooh in the evening for a celebratory supper and it was all we had hoped. The atmosphere was relaxed but refined and there was little to no wait for our reservations. The food, described as Progressive Indian, was creative and flavorful and often used novel ingredients for traditional recipes. The food was not excessively heavy and hence we did not suffer from the carb-induced food coma that is the Achilles heel of Indian cuisine. The cocktails were also good and offered both nicely balanced traditional standbys as well as some good in-house twists. The service as excellent and attentive without being cloying. Highly recommend the food and the experience. Well Done Rooh.
One of the best Indian restaurants I have dined at
Best Indian food I’ve ever eaten. Beware though, it’s fusion so not presented like you might expect and more expensive than normal. That having been said, YUMMY. We’re definitely going back next time we are in the city
ROOH truly understands the meaning of excellent customer experience. From the time you step into their place to the time you are served your food, they ensure that you are well taken care of and have the best possible experience. Their food is phenomenal in terms of taste and presentation and I personally think everyone should experience ROOH at least once.
I planned a team dinner here and had good expectations set through regular contact with the management and team before the event. Sadly, Rooh was a disappointment.
Firstly, there was a leak dripping on two of my colleagues. The staff had known about this.
We had specially allocated an area for the team in advance. Instead they crammed us into a smaller area.
The service was so slow people left without having been served their main.
Finally, we had bought a cake and candles. They lost the candles and disappeared with the cake for a very long time.
I truly do not understand how the standard was so poor; the space is nice, the servers are friendly and yet the overall experience left the team very unsatisfied and disappointed.
Food (focused on small plates) was tasty and the unique ingredients/combinations are great. Service was sub-par - abrupt, delays with bringing out drinks, food dropped off without explanation.
Food was good
Monkish curry has a quarter size piece of monkfish and 2 clams. That was it
Food was mediocre at best and the almond cake dessert was extremely dry. Mocktails were not worth the price. Very overpriced for the quality of food. Our waiter seemed stretched and not very attentive.
Some new dishes in Indian cuisine and very well presented
Great ambiance but limited options for brunch. Would have liked to see some more chaat options in brunch menu
The food was good but too pricey for what we got we had brunch so I don’t know how is it during dinner.
Great place for creative Indian food and original cocktails. Great service and inviting space with lots of light. If you like traditional Indian food especially at buffets, this place is not for you.
Super inventive terrific. Great waitstaff, lots of fun. I’ll be back for certain!!
Delicious food and incredible service! I’ll be going back and sharing the experience with friends and family. Thank you ROOH!
Good ambiance and service. Food is average although presentation is great. Some of the spices are not used in right ratio.
So much fun and very tasty.
I would never recommend this place to someone who loves real taste of Indian Cuisine. Food was very sweet and blend. I never had a Butter Chicken where Chicken was boiled and put it in a curry and was smelling bad.. I wish I could give minus points to them and ask for money back.
Had a great experience. Food was top notch and great service. Highly recommend this place
About six months ago I was there and really impressed. Not this time.
We showed up early and decided to eat at the bar. Both bartenders knew all the details of the food menu and made some great suggestions. All the food we ordered was delicious but my favorite was the cauliflower.
I will definitely go back!!
Food is outstanding, creative with unusual flavors. Service first rate. Consistently this level.
It was a perfect experience, to be honest. The tea China was stunning. The chicken curry was delicious. The noise level was nice and low so it was easy to have a conversation with my lunch mate. It was about $70 for 2 people, which is on the pricey side for SF, but not insane. I will be back.
Easily worth missing. End of story.
New desserts introduce to celebrate the Festival 'Holi' and recommended by the chef were awesome. Seems like I would be becoming a regular here :-)
Most dishes were too spicy and lunch for two was $90 so fairly pricey.
Rooh never fails to impress. Great food and new additions
Lovely environment and on our visit superb service were the highlights. The waiter's recommendations
were spot-on, with the highlight being the jackfruit tacos. We would come back just for those. Lamb
Korma was tasty but a bit greasy for California diets. Recommended cashew cake and barfi dessert was also a highlight.
Excellent contemporary Indian.
A bit pricey though
We had a great time celebrating my husband’s birthday! The service and food were excellent, thank you for making it special!
Love Rooh. The jackfruit tacos are superb- spicy buy unique. The turmeric gin tonic is a real treat.
Not too many options in their lunch menu.
Pricy compare to the quantity.
Main lunch item 'chicken curry' was not that great cold and prepared very unprofessionally.
The food and presentation was fabulous. We enjoyed our time at Rooh.
