Great tasting healthy indian fusion food with amazing flavors 👍
I made a special request as it was my first anniversary but looked like they did not do anything for it
Nice outdoor dining. Food was delicious. We will definitely return to eat here!
Fantastic food!!! Outstanding cocktails.
They have set a beautiful ambiance outside. They basically have a heater for each table which gives the setting a beautiful glow. The service was excellent! We were well attended to and felt as if we had a true dining experience even under the current circumstances.
Rooh was good experience, nice fusion of Indian food. Hope they add few more options in appetizer and main course. Since the Chef is from Bengal , I would love to see Hilsa, egg and goat curry and famous chicken cutlet of bengal.
The food was overall good, but the butter chicken was disappointing. It was more tikka masala than authentic butter chicken (also did not have fenugreek that the menu listed as an ingredient).
Simply stunning food, very generous portions, excellent service
Good food. Good service. Would definitely recommend.
Food was waaaaay overpriced with mediocre service
It was not a good experience. We love Rooh and have been going there since it started. We recommend Rooh to everyone. First time I saw waiter and host rampantly lying. Starts w host - reservation for XYZ. We only have tables inside. I mildly said - we have reservation for outdoor. Oh ok we will sit you outside - and immediately sits me outside. Not a good start (no matter how trivial).
We ordered appetizers. Waiter was hostile and rude and said you must place order for entrees right now. I said let’s start working on appetizers. Disgruntled groan. Then we are ready to order main entree. We ordered butter chicken and a couple things. I wanted one of the appetizer thingies again because I loved it (ghee roast chicken and kulacha sampler). He says - now that you are ordering main entree, chef said we are out of appetizers. What an ***. I asked him to ask the chef he can kindly make the appetizer again. Sure enough “chef was ok”. Butter chicken comes without bread or rice (thanks for NOT informing us). After giving this restaurant 5 stars each time, now I know this restaurant is going down and I hope the restaurant staff doesn’t behave like the owners (because company also looks like the cEO). Bad experience - not again.
Indian dishes with a California twist. Lamb shanks, beef short ribs, etc. My beef short ribs with curry was a little bland, but the other dishes were very tasty.
overall this was a good experience. This was high quality and adventurous Indian food with kliller nan (with cheese inside) and monkfish. My issues were, 1. the cocktails while good are small and overpriced. In fact in my Mezcal drink, there was 90% ice. 2. We ended ordering way too many bread/carb dishes and I felt that we could have gotten more guidance on that. Skip the Brioches for example they are really just hot buns.
It was the best indian food I have ever had.
Extremely flavorful yet not setting your mouth on fire.
Great as usual
The food is inventive and delicious. The menu offers enough options for all kinds of eaters (ribs/beef/veg/fish/paneer) without being so extensive that it's impossible to choose. That said, the three of us (one veg, two omnivores) pigged out on the small plates. Everything was delicious - the papadum were a great combo of traditional and fusion and the chutneys were delicious. We also had the burrata (weird for Indian, but delicious), the lamb keema hyderabadi (also delicious), the cauliflower (extraordinary), and the octopus to start. We thought about getting a large plate, but were full so we ended up getting the chickpea curry (omg, heavenly and spicy) with another order of papadum. I was disappointed in the octopus - it looked gorgeous but it was too salty. In general, I would say that the food here is rich and layered, but perhaps a little heavy-handed in some of its execution - heavy sauces, super-saturated flavors - this was true for the drinks as well. But as I always say, "more is more," and this was definitely a flavorful and exciting meal. The ambience and service were top-notch. All-in-all, would definitely go again, if only because the menu seems to change regularly and I'm curious about all of the exciting combinations the chef dreams up.
Excellent ambience and SOPs. However the food was completely sub par, extremely disappointing. Beautifully presented, but seemed hastily thrown together and completely lacked flavor and taste. Nans were excellent as were the drinks. Just the proteins were almost like they came out of a can.
This place exceeded our expectations tenfold. Each dish we ordered was just as good if not better than the one before. I would recommend the Jackfruit tacos to EVERYONE!
The food wasn’t hot. Also, even when the flavoring was good, the food quality of the food was not fresh. We ordered the Chili Shrimp and at $5.50 a piece, it’s not too much to expect the shrimp to be fresh, but the shrimp was mushy. We also ordered the butter chicken and the chicken was off. The naan stuffed chicken was cold and did not appear to be made on order. The only thing we enjoyed was the Puri. We spent over $200 for two people and we were really disappointed and wouldn’t come back.
The food is delicious. Quite a few vegetarian and vegan options.
I was looking forward to ROOH, but it was a let down. The food really lacked flavor and was overpriced for what it was. Any dish from a regular traditional Indian restaurant exceeds this place, and fairly priced. The service was extremely slow, and things were forgotten and we had to ask again, and we barely got attended to while the table next to us had all the waiters. The only pros were the cocktails and plating. I would not come here again.
Rooh is always wonderful when it comes to food and service. We were there for my husband's birthday dinner this time and the staff was incredible. The food was great in taste and quality. One thing though, after we were done with our meal, we had to wait for 15-20 minutes in the end to get our bill/check. There seemed to be some confusion among the staff regarding our table. That was the only time when we were like what's going on, let us pay and leave. Otherwise, a good experience as always.
We have recommended Rooh to so many friends now and everyone finds this place very special.
Rooh never disappoints. We ordered everything we wanted, about 6 plates and had 4 cocktails between the two of us for about $250 (after tip).
The lamb shank is insane, definitely check that. The staff was kind enough to sit us in the least windy space possible and brought a heater for an outside COVID free meal.
If you haven’t been, you should go. If you have been, you should go again.
Very wonderful and tasty food
Dining was limited to outside. They did their best
to deal with the cold fog blowing in with heaters.
We are definitely eating there again
Love the food, cocktails, and service here! Monkfish dish wasn’t hot, but everything else was wonderful.
It was everyday
Best vegetarian taco. Jackfruit taco and chili sandal shrimp and ghee roast chicken were exceptionally good.
first time here. really good and more interesting than most traditional Indian food. Our server we Piyoush (sp?) was very attentive an helpful. I would definitely go back.
Excellent craft cocktails, special take on classic Indian fare. Outside dining with space heaters!
Amazing food as always, the service is above and beyond especially during covid times. Huge thanks to the staff for being so amazing.
Loved our experience at Rooh. The food was delicious and the service was great.
Had a nice time celebrating my Birthday 😊
Definitely will come back!
Food was amazing!
I went their for the first time and everything was exceptional. Their cocktails are really delicious like their food.
So disappointed with the food. Maybe this is pandemic times & they are not be fully staffed.
The service was good as always & they tried to remedy but unfortunately the replacement wasn’t much different either.
Wish them well and would like to see the inspiration with which they started.
The restaurant experience was a big let down. It has great reviews so we were excited, but the food was just average and overpriced. For being an Indian restaurant, there were minimal vegetarian options and we were shocked they didn’t sell chai.
Great enthusiastic service. Very unique cocktail menu. Inspired take on classic Indian cuisine. They have set up outside tables with plenty of gas heaters - nice ambiance.
So happy to be back at the wonderful Rooh again.
We are outside - they have plenty of tables and it was almost full when we were there - they keep protocols of safety pretty well and are gracious and helpful .
The food as always, was absolutely phenomenal .
Highly recommend- and it’s good for vegetarians and gluten free people as well .
From the moment we walked in, their service was excellent. It was pretty windy outside and the host offered to move the heaters around so it would be warmer. The food was incredible and we felt welcomed the entire time we were there. Highly recommended!!
