Got a ton of food for the price and it was all very good!
Awesome meal. Great window view and super service. The softshell crab special was especially good. Fried just right -- light and crispy with nice greens on the side. We asked for a beer pairing with each CV ourselves and everything was spot on. Big Tuesday bonus -- everything on the super bottle list was half off!!! A great opportunity to try out some really special offerings without totally breaking the bank.
Great location in Adams Morgan district super service awesome beer list and food
Good place, tasty food and drinks. Do wish there had been more keto-friendly brunch options, but overall still good.
Food is outstanding. In particular the hamburger - our favorite in DC. But service was terrible on Sunday, terrible
Would recommend this place for a burger & a beer and for the under 30 crowd.
No air conditioning
Great atmosphere. We arrived early and were seated immediately however on website I asked for the same time and was told “sold out” by website. When we arrived it was one other couple at a table and a few patrons at the bar. Overall great food and beer selection. Had a pleasant dinner and didn’t feel rushed at all.
Awesome venue. Outstanding service. Some of the friendliest, accommodating & engaging staff in DC! Outstanding !
Perfect place to enjoy the evening sunset. Try to punch bowl!
Good food but super loud and busy
Noisy. Noisy. Noisy. Noisy. Noisy. Noisy. Noisy. Noisy
Second time we’ve been to Roofers Union but it was still surprising how great the experience was. Great staff, great food, drinks were great, and sitting by the window in a sunny day is really a treat.
Fun trivia night!
Service outstanding! Food satisfying and delicious. Wonderful gluten friendly options. I recommend reservations and found the management very accommodating to our birthday party decorations. We had a large group and everyone's order was perfect, served hot and fresh.
Nice location, space, food and service but very noisy when busy.
Great drinks and our server was very attentive!
Seriously, Roofers Union is a must brunch place. Their food is out of this world delicious, especially the Hot Mess. The service was fantastic, the ambiance was great. It is a go to best place for brunch for me and my friends.
Great view, excellent service, delicious food, and wonderful experience overall!
Went for lunch during a conference
I thought the food was very average, but the beer and the view were amazing so it sort of made up for it. I got the dry rub wings and the spinach pretzel dip. The chips for the spinach dip were too thick (in my opinion) and the wings a little too dry. At first, they waitress said they did not serve ranch with my wings but then decided to accommodate me. I would come back and try something else next time.
Bottomless mimosas were great and food was a small selection but everything was good
Basic American fare that is really pretty good. Very loud even though the restaurant was mostly empty.
The bartender should try his drinks to see if they can be consumed. For the gimlet, here was so much lime concentrate that I had to ask for simple syrup and add as much water as was originally in the coupe.
The salad was drowned in a very strong dressing and the waiter was so busy I couldn’t get his attention to ask for a remedy.
The steak and pasta with mushroom Ravi were excellent.
The fries with the steak were so oily they were mushy not crunchy.
Great brunch, the chicken and waffles were pretty good and the biscuit is worth the $2!!
We went for brunch for a birthday. Big windows provide alot of light which makes for a nice atmosphere. Somewhat loud but not a big deal to me. Service was very good. They were slammed but you could ask any of the staff for assistance and they were helpful. Food was good, plentiful and very reasonably priced. Waiter comped a birthday dessert. Definitely recommend this place.
Service was Ok. They were able to accommodate my party of 11, however, they weren’t too friendly. Waitress wasnt friendly but did her job. We got our drinks and meals but she didn’t check in on us. The food is above average pretty tasty however portion sizes are on the smaller side. Overall Ok experience. Would probably come back for happy hour or trivia, but not dinner.
Went with my daughter. Wait staff was great. Food was also good high end pub grub. Had Brussels sprouts and Mac an cheese appetizers and a burger and some sausages for main course . We enjoyed it all. Warning it is more of a bar scene than food scene and it was pretty loud. But s good vibe and a lot of Fun. Place was crowded but we were not rushed at all. Would recommend for young people
The service wasn’t super hot considering it was busy but not crazy. They refilled some drinks but not what I’d expect for an average place in DC. They also never even asked to refill a friends coffee at the table. Menu was limited and mimosas has pulp.
Service was very slow
Although the location was great, the food was delicious and unique, and the ambience was fun and crowded, the service was quite poor. Our waitress not only raised her voice in anger, but she ignored us and walked away from me mid sentence. To top it off, it was my birthday! Unfortunate.
It sucks when you’ve ordered unlimited mimosas and get two over the course of two hours.
I had to hunt my server to get our drinks, beg for one refill and beg for the check. Horrible customer service! The food was good though.
Very good food - Great atmosphere/ambiance - Friendly service but could improve a smidge - Great value to price ratio - OVERALL: B+/A- - it's a good place...go there!!
I went for restaurant week and was not disappointed!
We had such great brunch here! The staff was awesome and the bottomless mimosas were so good!
Really enjoyable brunch - food was great.
New Year’s Eve is not the best night to try a new restaurant but Roofers Union turned out to be the perfect choice for our group of close friends. The table was ready for us when we arrived. Wonderful large windows overlooking 18th Street and high ceilings create a very open spacious atmosphere. The decor is modern but with a reassuring dose of tradition. The menu is interesting and somewhat eclectic which suited our group perfectly as we were a mix of vegans, omnivores, and various dietary permutations. The home made sausages, duck pot pie, and scallops over risotto were particular hits. The spinach dip served with pretzel rounds was outstanding. The drinks menu is extensive with many signature cocktails, wines by the glass and by the bottle, many beers on tap and in bottle, the list goes on. Service was friendly, attentive, and easy. A great place for an informal New Year’s Eve or almost any occasion.
Great brunch! The food was good at a reasonable DC price, but we came for the bottomless mimosas - and they delivered! I don't think my glass ever went dry during the 3 hours we were there. It was quiet enough to have good conversation, but the restaurant was still lively. We made a reservation but there were a few open tables when we arrived.
The food is not terrible. I did not like the mac & cheese and I thought that the pork bites were just OK. I also had the peach cobbler, which I found slightly disappointing from our flavor perspective. My guest and I had sandwiches, which were good. The spicy chicken sandwich was excellent. Really excellent. Thus, I think that the food is fine, not amazing, but certainly worth a casual night out. The drinks were incredible, and I suspect that’s where their strengths lie. Dining room has lots of televisions playing sports.
