They were extremely busy and after speaking with the manager we learned that they were so overwhelmed and disorganized because open table ignored their maximum capacity and basically accepted every single reservation. It was a horrible experience but i do not blame macaroni grill at all. Open table should be held accountable.
We arrived at 7:57 PM for our 8 PM dinner reservation. We were told there would be a 20 minute wait despite our reservation. After 25 minutes, I went to find the manager who told me that it would be at least another 30 to 40 minutes before a table was ready. The manager told me that lots of people were waiting still with 8 PM dinner reservations so too bad for me. Not even an apology for wasting my time.
What is the point of using OpenTable for a reservation if the restaurant does not actually have a table at the promised time? I am very disappointed in the restaurant and this reservation service OpenTable.
To demonstrate how inaccurate OpenTable is in this instance - I got on the app while I was waiting and they still had open reservations for macaroni grill despite the fact that at least 30 people were waiting in the wait times were well over an hour.
I made the reservation online, did not have it they told me it was going to be a 35-minute wait instead of put me on the top so I guess what I want to meet someplace else and then I have to wait I will never come back.
I have long been a big fan of this restaurant chain, including this particular store. However, this latest experience was a huge disappointment. My Chicken Scallopini was like something I would make. The Angel Hair Pasta was all stuck together in a ball, and there was a very miserly amount of Chicken Scallopini. Our waiter seemed to be in over his head. I ordered my second glass of wine when my main course arrived but the wine did not come until I was finished with it. And our waiter was completely out of site except when he came to our table for some reason. It looks like this chain had new ownership or management.
Went for what I thought would be a nice New Year's Eve dinner. Special menu was not being offered and they were completely understaffed. Hostess was clueless and alot of customers walked out due to the long waits. Quality of the food was lacking as well, not what it used to be
From the host to the waiter to the manager, service could not have been worse. Because of that, the food was not served in a timely fashion and thus cold. I gave the food two stars because the salads were good but are, of course, supposed to be cold. The pasta dishes were inedible which is less than ideal at an Italian restaurant.
Annual tradition Christmas dinner @ macaroni grill.
The past 2 years have been a problem with waiting, reservations & service on Christmas Day.
We were told that the reason for delay & poor service was that the kitchen manager quit today.
We were there with our group from work celebrating the holidays. There were a lot of us but we were taken very good care of.
Bobby was such a wonderful sever and very attentive. Food was great as usual and wait times were minimal. Place was pretty full and the noise was pretty minimal. Overall the staff was helpful with everything even when they weren’t our server. Party of 8 was nothing for this place. Will definitely be back.
The food was delicious and came out in a good length of time. The only negative was our waitress. She was clearly disinterested in being there from the moment we sat down. She also was obviously annoyed by having a table with two small children. I realize we came for Thanksgiving dinner but we were out of town and wanted a nice meal. It wasn’t our fault if she didn’t want to be there working. She was really rude and didn’t refill our drinks. She was also very rude and abrupt when we asked to see the dessert menu. It was so bad that I wanted to leave a 10% or less tip but I decided to be generous and give my normal 20%, hoping maybe she was having a terrible day and would be nicer to the next group. It really soured our whole experience that was otherwise wonderful.
Thanksgiving dinner was good except the Broccollini was just meh. My kids didn't like their spaghetti so they didn't really eat. Drinks & Desserts were perfect. Waitress was great.
Went for thanksgiving dinner and didn’t really expect much. I was very surprised. The turkey was great and the brussel sprouts were fantastic. The waiter we had was also very good.
After reading some of the bad reviews, I was nervous about making my Thanksgiving reservation here, but I am so glad that I did!---The food was excellent and there was no wait. Our table was ready and the staff was friendly and attentive. Half of our table wanted turkey dinner and the other half didn't, so everyone was able to order what they wanted. Great dining experience for this holiday!
Our entrees were served cold. The server was too busy having a personal conversation with another table and did not check back with us after the entrees were served.
The food was alright , but had to wait on the waiter to request pepper seed for the Pizza.
The Restaurant Manager showed personel interrested in us. The Waitress was friendly, professional, efficient, she was personal. The food is authentic (i am european)
The decor was simple and rustik. My favorite Restaurant, now. We come back...
Service was poor, brought out 3 of the 4 meals with no explanation where the 4th was or timing. They took an additional 8 min to bring out the other meal as the other meals were getting cold waiting on their poor service.
Great manager great service great food
Our service and food were superb! Our waitress was attentive, but allowed us plenty of time to visit.
I love Romano's Macaroni Grill. The service we have there is generally outstanding and this time was no exception. Bab's was a wonderful server. The food is good and the atmosphere is comfortable.
We were celebrating our daughters 8th birthday. It was her choice to eat dinner there! We had a party of 8 seated right next to another large party in the back of the restaurant with only one server for both large parties. She was very nice but a bit overwhelmed. This ended up causing a lack of attention and detail to our party and experience. My order in particular came out wrong twice and was blamed on both the kitchen and the server. This was very frustrating because everyone was nearly finished when mine was finally corrected and delivered. My dinner was compensated as well as two desserts which was nice but still our dinner experience was stressful and frustrating to which no manager ever even came over to speak to us or apologize. Our server apologized and did the best she could given the situation and for that we took care of her.
Enjoyed a BOGO special. Generous portions and well prepared.
We were treated friendly and compassionately when granddaughter thought she was getting something else.
What has happened to the food quality? Simple dish of angle hair pasta with olive oil, sauteed mushrooms and garlic was a disaster. Garlic was mushy and tasteless and the mushrooms dry and tough. At one time I loved this restaurant but not anymore. Nevertheless, I will try them again in one year and in the meantime there will be no recommendations to friends.
My fiancé and I decided to go to dinner here for our date night tonight. Neither of us had been in 10 years & after tonight, I don’t even want 10 days to go by before going again!! Our waiter Bobby was the most kind, attentive, hilarious waiter I’ve had. Make sure to ask for him if you come to this location. The food was delicious. The butternut squash tortellaci was the most incredible pasta dish I’ve ever had. YUM! We will definitely be coming back.
Service was great .Food was delicious. Kids really enjoyed it.
We had a great Fathers Day lunch. Reservation was on time.
My family and I have gone to Macaroni Grill for years. We went to the Plano locations and when we
moved we went to the Westheimer location which was great. We trekked out to the Woodlands to
this remaining location. We went late on a Sunday. There was no one there. We ordered the Calamari
who's portion has greatly shrunk. It took a long time to get our food. The quality has gone done
severely. My dish hardly had any chicken and my husband's spinach looked wilted. We had to ask for
drink refills and for pepper in the olive oil for the bread. The bread was dry. We are sad.
Pizza came out uncooked, one order not placed, had to wait 10 minutes for it to appear, service slow.
Haven't been there in years. It was casual but nice. Always like restaurants with table cloths. It was busy as was Mother's Day but was still not to noisy and the service was great! Food was really good.
The starter (mussels) was good but the main dish chicken and shrimp pasta was terrible - no flavor, extremely bland. The dessert which had to take to go (peach cake with passion fruit) was shocking terrible. No sign of any passion fruit - it was just a plain sponge cake with few pieces of peaches here and there. It was extremely busy due to Mother’s Day but that’s not an excuse for serving terrible food. Don’t recommend this place and will not go back.
I was so excited to come to your restaurant. My first soup was cold and I had to wait a long time for my salad because there was a large party going on. Then, when I ordered my fettuccine Alfredo, the chicken inside was gooey and not firm. Next time, I will order the fettuccine without chicken. I thought there could have been more Alfredo sauce used, But it was minimal. Overall, I was disappointed in the food. The service was excellent, and our waitress could not have been nicer.
Our server was fantastic! The food was very good and the bread was delicious.
The food wasn't worth the price very good decoration though !!
We were greeted politely and seated promptly. Amber did a fantastic job of waiting on us, kept us filled with water and was efficient in getting our food to us.
The Osso Buco was moist and flavorful. We will come back.
Horrible service, brought wrong item, no compensation offered for the extended wait.
Enjoyed Romano's Macaroni Grill. Had to drive to The Woodland's location. The location at Willowbrook Mall has closed.
Our waiter, Bobby, was a delight! Food was on point.
Bobby is the BEST waiter in Houston. Love the food at Macaroni Grill and the service is always spectacular.
