Wine prices were crazy, 6-8oz of wine-$14. Are you serious? Service was horrible. We had 'Will", had to get up and walk to the back to get our bill. Two entries, 3 glasses of wine, no salad or soup, $80. Never again. I can get better service and cheaper prices at Campessi.
Seated quickly, and waitress was friendly and helpful. Food was good.
MacatGrill used to be and let me stress used to be a really nice night out having a nice dinner. Not so much anymore. The food was disgusting and I am pretty sure it made my wife sick. My lasagna was very cold, the chicken Parmesan was old and over cooked. We will never be back.
Italian margaritas have they distinctly Amaretto tartness. Mine was sour and no Amaretto so miss the bartender from the Lewisville location.
Server brought my check but charged my credit card for someone else's table $20 higher. We orginally had plans to come here Valentine's day and read the reviews and chose Pappadeaux's instead. Food here is good, I had my favorite Chicken Scallopine. There were less than a dozen tables seated and no waiting but mistakes were still made. It was the service reviews that detoured us Valentine's day.
Service was slow even though the restaurant wasn't busy. Waiter looked irritated that we kept asking him for things. Eventually we got up and got things for ourselves.
It was very nice, food was good - not quite warm enough but overall a really nice evening !
Very warm , inviting atmosphere - made for a relaxing time with family for dinner .
Our waitress was great but the food was absolutely horrible. The lasagna came out almost rock hard the first time then they took it back and brought another dish out and that time the noodles and lasagna were way under cooked and horrid. Pretty sure it will be the last time I will ever eat there.
Took the Mrs here for Valentine's day the food was good. Mrs order salmon and i order spaghetti with meatballs. She enjoyed my entree and hers too.
Lobster Ravioli was horrible
Server took about 15 to take our order, didn’t want to ask the chef about the gluten-free pasta, never came to refill our water glasses. We won’t be returning. There are too many other options to put up with poor service.
Our first really bad experience at any Romano’s. Service was okay, but place was untidy/cluttered/behind in cleanup. My wife’s chicken Marsala was undercooked, and the coffee was old/burnt. Would have had a better dinner at a burger joint.
Our server Jess was awesome! Dishes were great!
It's been at least a year since I ate at Macaroni. It was a good experience but there has been a lot of change. Definitely loved the macaroni bites & the mango tea
It was overall fantastic!
New year eve.
We were there for Christmas Day dinner. The 25th. Hostess seemed upset that we used open table. We were seated within 15 mins but waited over an hour and a half for our food. Our waitress wAs not up to par. She was courteous when we did see her
We have eaten at several Romano's Macaroni Grills over the years. The food is always good and the service has always been outstanding. We even have enjoyed getting to know some favorite waiters. It was not a hard decision to decide to go for supper at Romano's Macaroni Grill - University on Christmas day. As always we enjoyed the company of our family and the food at Romano's. We expected a wait for a table so we used OpenTable to make reservations to shorten the wait time if at all possible. It was the first time to use OpenTable and it will most likely be the last. Arriving at the restaurant we encountered a line that was standing from inside the main dinning area to the reception desk which overflowed into the waiting area and then the several couples waiting in the bar area. We were not the only party that used OpenTable and that was the rub. The "manager" was in excellent form seating parties and registering income guests. She was polite, but straight forward about the situation. She did not have time for rude guests and neither did those of us who waited patiently to be registered. Surprisingly we were seated by the time our reservation indicated. As we left I thanked the Manager for her help in creating a pleasant evening for my family and ask what the problem had been. Her reply was very simple, "OpenTable did not respond when they indicated the restaurant was full and could not accept reservations made on OpenTable." So I give the restaurant four to five stars, but OpenTable gets no stars as they gave the impression to the quests that they would be seated before quests who were standing in line at the restaurant. And that is just rude.
Despite having a reservation for Christmas we had to wait an hour to be seated. Staff was overwhelmed. Waitress was exhausted and service was poor and slow. Food portions were smaller than lunch sizes. We had to keep ordering (and waiting for) bread as the meal portions were laughable. You need to close for Christmas because you just can’t pull it off and your employees obviously didn’t want to be there.
We had a very enjoyable Christmas dinner. The greeter was a bit stressed but it was very busy. Our server did not give us our credit card back. My husband realize his credit card was missing the following day. The restaurant had it and I went to pick it up yesterday. I wanted to buy a small loaf of bread to go and it was given to me with no charge so that was a nice gesture
It’s so great that Romano’s Macaroni Grill is open Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. For those of us that have to travel during these holidays, it’s hard to find a good place open. This is our 3rd year to enjoy Romano’s at Christmas. Made our reservation with Open Table. When we arrived we were seated right away. Service was amazing and food was great!
When I asked about no pine nuts in the Shrimp Portofino I was told they ran out. I heard that story the week before. Also a Caesar Salad without anchovies is not a Caesar Salad.
We actually had dinner here on Christmas day. I made reservations but assumed we'd wait a bit. They actually had our table ready and we were seated right when we walked in. Couldn't believe it. It was great, service was good, food was good. Great Christmas day experience. Well done Romanos!
Very enjoyable meal! We enjoyed our Christmas dinner with you!
For the first time ever we had no family gatherings on Christmas day so we chose Romano's Macaroni Grill. It was incredibly busy, but when we finally got our table it was handled like every other day of the week. We weren't rushed or asked to leave, and they even had a lovely Christmas lunch offering which we appreciated.
they booked the entire restaurant for 12:00, instead of filling gradually. a mimosa was 14.00. spent 122.00 for an average meal and poor service. food was pretty good
This place isn't what it once was. Growing up in Fort Worth, we used to go to Macaroni Grill for special occasions, usually birthdays. We looked forward to being sung to, having their amazing focaccia (which they stopped serving YEARS ago, such a shame), and their dessert menu. Now they serve different bread, and smaller sized servings. On top of which, their ever-popular Pasta Milano was removed. They did bring it back, which is why we went this time, but they used a different pasta and the sauce tastes slightly different than it did before. Also, the ingredients are either of lesser quality than my memory serves, or I got the least-trimmed piece of chicken I've eaten at a fancy sit-down restaurant. I spat out chicken three or four times that was just literal gristle. When I got dessert, tiramisu, it was a soggy mess. The bottom was just drenched in coffee and alcohol, making it mushy and a little overpowering. It wasn't lightly and airy like I've had in the past.
Overall, due to the nostalgia factor I carry with me, I was pretty disappointed. I know what Macaroni Grill used to be, and I know what it is now. There is no comparison. If you're looking for Italian food and you don't mind getting subpar chicken and soggy lady fingers, please feel free to give them a shot. The atmosphere itself is pleasant and inviting, and the wait staff are responsive and kind. Their food IS tasty, but for me it just doesn't hold a candle to my memories.
Great service! The food was great, will be coming back.
The food was all preplated and left under warming lights. The meat was dry, a tiny bit of gravy, a tiny spoon of mashed potatoes ( who puts squash in mashed potatoes?? Gross) and under cooked broccolini with three bites of broccoli.
Never going there again.
Had thanksgiving dinner what amazing dinner food was really good
Food was great
Everything was very good. We lived closer we would eat there more often. ATe there often in grapevine.
A perennial favorite of our family. Fine Italian dining at a fair price.
Wait staff is always great, and the bread is almost perfect as served. Simply ask for the balsamic vinegar to make it perfect.
Food and service were both good. They were out of what we originally ordered, so we found something new. I ordered the Pasta Malino. It's not something I would order again but it was good. My husband ordered the Ricotta Meatballs and Spaghetti. It's just basic spaghetti. He said it tasted homemade.
our waiter was great. I think his name was Noah and fairly new to the restaurant. He was very cordial, helpful and attentive. Our food was fabulous as always. We recommend this place to anyone who is hungry and wants to be treated well.
Brenda, our server, is a fantastic host. She is the BEST!
I have been a regular for years dining here about 50 times a year. I love the food, the staff and the location
Restaurant was hot, food w’ain’t. Loved drawing on the tables though. Bread crusty, but a delight. Too long for pepper. Will was great, but lacked ambition and direction; the chuckle more than made up for it. Ask for the house red, a little known secret. Beware; bathrooms confusing. Love Romahno’s
The service was unbelievably slow, despite the fact that there were only 4 parties seated in the entire restaurant. The menu has changed significantly, and the value isn’t what it used to be, especially compared with its sister restaurant, Maggiano’s.
We had good service, and the food was delicious.
We were put next to a table with kids who were playing videos games.
The manager never walked the floor or came around to see the kids were annoying everyone elses table.
Would have been OK if the food was great but it's really just another average big name restaurant.
