Romano's Macaroni Grill - Tucson
Book your next event with us
We ordered dessert and waited 30 minutes for it. The server was pleasant and apologized several times, but we had already paid the bill unfortunately, so leaving wasn't an option.
After this experience, this will be the last time I eat at Macaroni Grill! We were a table of 7 adults. We waited over 15 minutes before someone even acknowledged us. Wait staff kept walking by and no one said they would be with us shortly or asked if we had been helped. The restaurant was maybe a quarter full of that so there was no reason for no service. Apparently, they had changed the table assignment and our waitress had no idea we were here table. The other wait staff chewed her out and all of us could hear it. I think she was new. She came over frustrated and discombobulated. She took our drink order and then 3 people had to help her enter it in the system. Every time she delivered for or drink I thought she was going to spill it .The manager finally came over and gave us free appetizers. The bill was almost $300 with free appetizers! Only some of us had a drink and dinner. We were there for 2 birthdays and they didn’t comp the dessert either. For what we got in food and service, it was not worth $300! Eating out had gotten so expensive that it is not worth it anymore!! Never going back!!
We went here for my mom's birthday and the service was great. The food was great. And we were all very satisfied. I would highly l recommend.
Service was terrible waiter was not attentive at all. Food was below par and not as good as it used to be. It is no wonder they went out of business where I live. Really sad, because they used to be a great restaurant.
1. Salad was not fresh.
2. Mussels were not culled and many remained unopened.
3. Pasta with olive oil and garlic had virtually no garlic.
4. Pasta portion was small.
5. Our server was very good.
6. The bread was hot and fresh.
This is sad, I used to go there frequently for lunch, but have not been there in a couple of years. My party was disappointed.
Ordering four different dishes, one dish quoted as excellent, two were good, one average. Good waitress with some exceptions. Could have been a little more attentive. We would probably return.
Place was not very busy, server was slow. Had to request multiple times for drinks to be refilled. Food came out and very different times. Food was very bland. My husband tried the steak which was like a rubber band. All you can eat salad was so tiny and lettuce clearly had been over chilled and wilts watery mess.
We are usually satisfied when we come to Macaroni Grill and we were once again.
A lovely idea for Mother' Day. That you very much. We will always return!
I set up a dinner for 23 at for my daughter’s graduation dinner. We made the reservations for 6:30 because the school said the ceremony should be 3 hours long and then allow time to get out of the parking garage. Well, the ceremony ended at at 4, so now what do I do with 23 people for 2 1/2 hours?!? I called the restaurant and asked if we could come early and they totally accommodated us! Our wait staff was incredible. Our drinks were never empty, there was always bread on the table and all of the food came out correctly, even with our many changes. They were able to accommodate our vegetarian and gluten free guests. So happy that we chose Macaroni Grill for our event.
been to this location in the past. had a great experience but this last time was a complete joke!!!! ordered lasagna it arrived to table ICE COLD. sent back replaced it with cheese only No meat piece cold.. 3rd time Cold in a hot sizzler\pan just decided to take it home they didnt even ask to take it off the check.
will never come back
Good food at reasonable prices. And, Ami, our server, was outstanding!
Mahi mahi was tasty, especially with the basil sauce.
Wonderful place to eat. The food is GREAT and the service is even GREATER!!!
Overall okay. I am not sure why the visit wasn’t point eligible.
The food was delicious, the service was excellent, very polite and attentive staff. We were able to talk and relax, no loud music, never felt rushed. Great for a group celebration or a romantic dinner.
Our experience was terrific. We had servers that were friendly and knowledgeable about wines and all the food items we were interested in.
The quality of everything was as we had experienced many times before in Macaroni Grills in other parts of the country, which is the obvious reason we return.
Beth was our server. Friendly, efficient and a delightful to be around. The food was excellent and the experience was simply the best. We’ll be back!
Food was blah. Presentation lacking. Service so-so. We will not be going back.
no Greeter upon entrance......pointed to table to occupy.......lipstick on water glass.......food of mediocor quality.......floor dirty..........unpleasant experience .......needles to say, will not go back!!!!!!!!
We were there on Valentines - service was very slow but our waitress, Barry stopped by frequently to apologize because of the crowd and the slow computer, etc....so we totally understood. The food was great - their V Day special included my favorite Chicken Scaloppini, which we both ordered and brought home leftovers for another full meal. Very enjoyable night - we were in no rush so any delays were understandable given the holiday
Excellent service. The staff is very customer service orientated food was awesome
Nice place to eat for any occasion. We were seated immediately and the wait staff was attentive.
Ratatouille on polenta was yummy. Would definitely order again. Place was relatively quiet on a Monday night.
Macaroni Grill was definitely a unique food spot when it first arrived on the scene. Countless Italian fares with genuine homeland flavor. However, it has fallen short. This experience was far from that. From beginning to end the experience was unfavorable. I don't want to make this length review but here it is.
Ambiance: First walked in the lighting was noticeably different. They replaced the calm, dim lights with bright LED working lights, the dinner ambiance was completed gone.
Service: As we sat down, the waitress asked if we needed menus. " No I'm just sitting here for no reason". I don't believe this is a question that should be asked, this isn't a non-traditional restaurant where menus are not required. We waited close to 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged us, the bus boy ended up bringing us our drinks since the waitress never came by. Overall the service was spotty at best.
Food: The salad was not really mixed well, some parts had to dressing some had too much. the food was definitely sitting on the warmer since the pasta had formed a hard crust on the edges.
Overall experience: This is not the macaroni grill I remember. For the price of dinner and the time waiting it was sub-par. I think there is a lot of room for improvement.
Christmas night at Macaroni Grill was a disaster. They didn't plan for the crowd they had. Took 90 minutes to get our food and it was not very good.
The staff tried hard to make it right but the kitchen was their Achilles heel. Appreciate the staff for working Christmas but the restaurant did not plan and execute.
Have eaten here other times with very good results.
The foods not bad. A lot better than than ubiquitous starch served up by Olive Garden.
We were pleased to find a good restaurant (within walking distance of our hotel) open on Christmas Day. Attentive waiter (he might have been named Brian), well-prepared food, comfortable seating in the back. I would have preferred one or two additional vegan/vegetarian options, but the non-meat eaters in our group (all but one of us) were able find satisfactory entrees. All in all, a delightful experience.
We were not expecting what Romano's Macaroni Grill offered regarding food, service and atmosphere.
It was a very pleasant experience. Something for everyone. Service was excellent. Order was timely taken and delivered. Absolutely no complaints!
Food has gone hill since a few years ago I ate there.
I was looking for a nice Christmas Eve dining experience but this was not it. My first impression was the paper table covers and crayons. NOT! The food and service were good, but the person busing the table next to us sort of tossed the clean plates onto the table as he set the table for the next guests and the plates hit the table with an audible bang. Since I was looking for a finer dining experience I was not impressed with this restaurant.
First time to book on line, but went well. Not sure if it's possible to choose a booth/table on line, but this would be helpful as we still had to ask for a particular available booth (no problems there). While we have never used the outside dining patio, it always struck us that it is entirely in the wrong place - a side-walk width away from a very busy six-lane road. Had the patio been more secluded at the outside rear of the restaurant (where there is plenty of room), a more secluded and quiet area would be a huge draw. The staff is always very pleasant and goes the extra mile to make us feel welcome.
Waitress was OUTSTANDING! Food was tasty, enjoyed by the four of us. However, 3 meals arrived warmish (not hot) so everyone waited for the 4th meal delivery, making food ever cooler (this isn't Europe where one begins to eat as meals arrive). The "endless" soup or salad choices were negated by the fact that the 4 salads ordered arrived with the meals! So, no "endless". But the waitress was very patient & kept returning when one of us was having a difficult time deciding - she always smiled & was cheerful & patient.
I would come back and try different dinners on the menu and the different wines.
Not notable. I ordered a simple entree that was not prepared well. The Manager rectified things. The wine was good. The Calamari appetizer portion was too small. It was also tasteless. The seafood bisque was too thin but tasty. I dropped over $100 in that place for nothing. Save your money. Go somewhere else.
Had reservation for Thanksgiving eve. They sat us half hour late. It took another hour to get food. They ran out of all Turkey sides, ended up with Turkey sandwich on sub roll. Ruined our Thanksgiving.
Food was a rip-off. Watered down soup, tiny portions that were vastly overpriced. Since they kept running out of items and did not have a procedure to let customers know, we were charged full price for a meal that contained only half of the original items. The waitress was lovely, but he management needs to take a look at the way they run their business and truly re-evaluate in order to improve.
Wait time with dinner reservation was an hour long and food took half an hour to get served. Hostess wrote down my first name wrong. They ran out of mashed potatoes. Soup was served cold. They ran out of cheesecake. We didn't even receive any discount for all these shortcomings. I had a very bad Thanksgiving dinner experience.
We made a reservation for Thanksgiving Day. I understand that this is a different day than any other but: we waited one hour despite a reservation. The hostess then apologized for missing us (!). Then, we were told the vegetables choice for the turkey dinner had run out and the kitchen was way behind. Okay. When our dinners arrived the vegetable was in fact as advertised but no squash and no mashed potatoes. Just another roasted vegetable and turkey. Then, we were told the pumpkin cheesecake had run out. And only two choices left from the dessert menu. Very disappointing. The waiter was overwhelmed and forgot our bread request, our water request. This was our first time eating out for Thanksgiving. My son is a disabled student at the University and is unable to come home to Minnesota for the holiday. So I come down to take care of him. Two of his sisters were able to join us. We had a fun evening in spite of the snafu at the restaurant.
Planned a turkey dinner Emilie out of town. Backfired. Reservations were basically useless. Upon early check in with hostess, we were told there was a 40 minute wait regardless. Decided to wait in the bar and luckily found a table. Server was pleasant enough, but obviously harried and slow. Decided to give up a table at the restaurant and eat at the bar. Probably shaved a little off that 40 minute wait; however, food was luke warm and mediocre. Better than hotel food, but definitely not worth $25. They even ran out of the advertised dessert, pumpkin cheesecake, before we got to dessert. Can't say that I could recommend this place, especially for Thanksgiving dinner. I won't be back.
