The food remains consistently good and the Service consistently lacks. Again during this a visit, at nearly all times, the servers were all hanging out at the kitchen counter or Sitting at a guest table towards the back eating. On multiple occasions we had to flag down the hostess to get refills on her drinks and silverware for food. It as unfortunate that both before and after covid, they have been unable to get their wait staff to get out on the floor and serve the guests.
This was the worst dining experience ever! We had a reservation and we were told there was a 20 minute wait time. The place was dirty and the bathrooms were even dirtier and no toilet paper. We spent 3 hours waiting for our food which was really bad. Chicken was undercooked, steaks were barely cooked, fettuccine was hard and no cheese. DO NOT GO TO MACARONI!
Excelent , the place is rustic
I came in and was not greeted at the door, but I saw my party and sat down. After 30 minutes of not being served, we flagged the hostess. We waited another 15 before the drink came. The restaurant was mostly empty, so we wondered why it took yet another 10 minutes to get our food order in, and then 35 minutes for the food to arrive, 10 minutes apart. The food was cold, but because I was a diabetic I had to eat. Then, when the cheesecake came for dessert, we all spit it out, for it was old.
Had a great Easter dinner at Macaroni Grill! Great drinks too! Wait staff was so friendly and attentive. Over all great time!
Understaffed and it showed. Had to ask for things we normally shouldn't have had to.
It was a real disappointment. Are used to frequent the macaroni grill that closed in Naples several years ago and always loved it there. It has gone downhill very dramatically since then apparently. We won’t be back.
We made reservations, they had the table ready. Service was quick and the food was tasty.
Our waiter was fantastic but another man behind the bar was complaining about so many take out orders and right when we came in he told us it will be a long time until we get our food. Nobody was in the restaurant at all except people waiting on take out. He said they were short staffed in the kitchen. But all through our dinner, he was complaining loudly. We finally told our nice waiter that it was very inappropriate for us to have to listen to him and he needed to calm the hell down! Not good!
After a very long wait to even have our drinks taken then there was hair in our food we could not get a hold of a manager even though we was told he was in the building our server disappeared three or four times and we had to get other assistance from different servers I will never recommend this place. We came here of all places for Valentine's day expecting romantic amazing dinner and we left very unsatisfied and our holiday was kind of ruined
Stay away - this place has gone downhill since my last visit. I had a 8:15 Reservation - got there at 8 and was told they were slammed with Diners/Uber Eats orders and would probably have to wait another 45 Minutes. I looked around and there was maybe 20% of their tables seated. I asked if we could at least sit at a table and get a drink and was told only if a waiter was available.....she never came back. Another party of 4 got sat and got up and left after 5 minutes so we got their table - given to us by another Hostess. As we were waiting to get our drink order in, two tables of 8 got up and left (I asked and they said after 2 hours they were not waiting any longer). Finally got some help from one of the Hostesses and then the bartender became our waiter. Lobster Bisque was so salty it was inedible. $8.00 Caprese salad came with two mini slices of tomato with a blob of mozzarella on it. Lasagna was ok and Penne Rustica was not the same recipe we usually get (missing something) . Overall a big disappointment and won't be back.
Accepts reservations but doesn't save tables, arrived to find out our 730pm dinner reservations had a 2 hour wait to sit. What's the point?
Reservations don’t matter. We had reservations, showed up 10 minutes early and were told it would be an additional 1 hour 30 minute wait. There were restless customers in the waiting area, sharing horror stories of long waiting times, most of which began to leave.
Qualified professional wait staff is not a requirement- although our waiter was utterly underprepared for the task, we felt bad for him and blame the management for creating the atmosphere. Disappointed. Hungry. Going through the drive thru on the way home.
Very unorganized luckily the food was good but service was trash
Great food. Was seated right away. The only hiccup is that I ordered a glass of wine and the server never brought it.
Food was terribly over cooked very short on staff, not a very good experience and definitely over priced.
The food and service were both wonderful!
We had chicken parm, which was yummy. Love their bread. We definitely had a much better experience than the last time we were there.
Very disappointed that social distancing was not adhered to. Decided to place a takeout order instead. No one answered the phone for curbside pickup and the wait was longer than quoted. I understood that it was the holiday, however it was very disappointing. Not to mention the gentleman that was allowed to sit at the bar with his dog. The food when finally received was lukewarm, but it was good.
Service was poor. Carried only one type of Italian beer on menu, and when I ordered 2 for me and guest they told me they only had one and it was last one! Menu and food was pedestrian.
I will not go back.
Very comfortable . Food was excellent and the service was quite good considering it was Christmas eve! We enjoyed the experience and will return without waiting quite so long.
Enjoyed the food and evening. I will come next year. Thank you
The ambiance was not up to the level it could be. The Palm Harbor location, now closed, was aesthetically pleasing and that is what I expected in Carollwood.
We drove the distance from Clearwater for the special occasion. The best part was our own romance and the waiter was very nice, a romantic too. The turkey dinner was good.
Chef’s doesn’t wear masks.
Just one waitress for all the restaurant.
Chairs need paint.
Great Bday celebration at Macaroni Grill! Madison, our waiter, was excellent! Highly recommend this restaurant!
We had a reservation for 7:45 PM and were seated at the table at the right time. However, no one attended to us until 8:20 PM, no water, no drinks, no server or service. Understandably, the restaurant was taking COVID precautions, tables were socially distanced and the number of servers were limited but no one coming to help us for more than half hour is not good. During this wait someone from our party went to the frontdesk to request service, their response was "yes, we know"... not very professional. There was a general disinterest in serving our party. We noticed, the other diners in the restaurant were being well taken care of. The food, as usual, was very good when our dinner was served. So, no complains there. This is the second time we have had this experience at this location. The first time we put it down to happenstance, but the second time led me to believe that this is not just mere coincidence. We love Macaroni Grill, their food, and have been going there for years. But these recent experiences will force us to strike it out from our list of favourate places.
Excellent food and service. I was very pleased with my visit and would certainly recommend Romano's Macaroni Grill.
Very consistent real Italian family style food.. Not on the menu however if you request shrimp scampi, with angel her pasta they'll prepare it for you...
The AC wasn't working. The service was slow. The food was bland.
The food was good. Very short staffed at the time, but that’s understandable considering the current pandemic. The only real issue was an issue with the air conditioning being out at the time, creating a very warm environment for dining.
Macaroni grill is social distancing very well. Seatings are well spaced and servers wear masks. We've never had a meal here that wasn't delicious. We always take leftovers home and enjoy them reheated. This review is from a really picky eater. We had 6 different dishes and everyone was extremely happy with their meal.
The air was broken so it got hot as the dinner progressed. They were out of dough for the kids pizza and the mushrooms for the appetizer. And this was with their already smaller menu. Two dishes were completely wrong and had to be remade. And the time that it took to get our meal was way too long considering the restaurant was nearly empty.
They were not very busy and the AC was broken. It’s hot in Florida....
Great food, but lousy service. The restaurant was pretty quiet for a Friday night. The food was well prepared and bountiful sized, but the service was awful. We weren't offered ground pepper, grated cheese, or refills on drinks. I requested dessert options when the waiter brought over the check. We hadn't requested the check, and the reservation was made online and mentioned this was a birthday celebration.
Manager failed to train staff. Then cut corners on portion size for house wine and coffee. Also no lobster in the lobster bisque. Totally underwhelmed when manager lies to my face and tried to blame the server for these cost cutting measures.
Fire the GM and I might go back.
It was Father’s Day, the only thing that was a concern was that the air was broken. This made it very hot.
It was a bit warm in the bar area where we were seated. It also took quite while to get our food. However, that said the food and servers were great.
I had chicken Marcella and it was delicious. Our waitress was very good and attentive.
Visiting the area. We dine in in other areas and the food is good.
a/c was not working well.tables were not bused; staff was harried; reservation was ignored; man who finally seated us was rude; food was terrible and tasteless; crying children who ran around the tables;NEVER AGAIN!
