Romano's Macaroni Grill - Redlands
vine-ripened tomatoes, imported buffalo mozzarella, basil, balsamic glaze
roasted chicken, sun-dried tomatoes, mushrooms, rigatoni, roasted-garlic cream sauce
Very good service even though short handed. Only complaint is my salmon was a bit dry.
I ordered chicken marsala. If there was any marsala in it I'd like to know where? My husband ordered a shrimp dish and he liked that. Bread lacked the flavor that most italian breads have. Took 45 minutes to receive our food although the waiter was very attentive. He was the best thing there.
Thank goodness this restaurant was open Christmas day
Floor was flooded; we couldn't tell if it was why the coffee machine wasn't working or some leak from the heavy rains. No coffee, no tiramisu.
It was very nice enjoyed my meal the atmosphere the only problem was not enough help. I'm trying to understand why they closed so many of them I probably won't be going back here it's quite a drive from my home
We had a pleasant and delicious meal at The Macaroni Grill- the restaurant was understaffed and it totally slowed down service but the employees did their thing and Chelsea our waitress was awesome. We had no place to be so we just enjoyed a yummy meal out and tipped our waitress for her hard work. It is so unfortunate that businesses can’t get employees. Go out to eat and support our local restaurants and be patient and kind.
Made a reservation on open table and still had to wait .The hostess was old and rude and seemed like she was on drugs . She alone is ruining their business.
Service and food was good however it seemed they were out of a few items. It wasn't up to their normal good standards.
Very understaffed for a holiday. Our table was not set properly and the light that hangs above the table was broken. Two of our orders of spaghetti were very dry. The vinegar was not given to us with the bread, we had to ask for it.
We made a reservation for Thanksgiving, but had to wait 45 minutes before we were seated. Once we sat down, we didn't get any service for another 15-20 minutes. After that, everything was fine. Apparently they were short-staffed due to the Great Resignation, so I sympathize with their services issues, but still....
My family and I had been coming here for thanksgiving for the past 5 years. Never had I received the service we got that day, horrible experience. Our food took forever, I honestly believe our waitress forgot about our food. When she finally brought it, ALL of our dinners were cold. I hated that we had to ask to have it warmed up. We checked in at 2pm(our reservation was @3pm) we were seated at 4:40. The hostess was a complete mess she had no control of reservations and walk-in’s, we tried to voice our concerns and she was just plain rude. The only reason we stayed was because it was thanksgiving and there weren’t many other options available that day. I hate the fact that we will break our 5 year tradition next year and pick some where else to have our thanksgiving dinner. Also take in consideration that we drove almost an hour to the restaurant which is located in Redlands CA, we live in Palm Springs.
Hostess was very pushy and kinda rude. Even with a reservation we still waited about an hour to be seated. Waitress was not attentive and would stop by very rarely. We ordered a second round of drinks and had to cancel because they took a very long time to come out and we were still charged on our receipt for them even after I had pointed it out to the waitress. It took her forever to fix it and we didn’t even get to eat our dessert there. Our thanksgiving experience was ruined. No I would not recommend. Very poor planning on managements end.
We ended up eating at the bar. Sam and Billy were our bartenders/servers. The meal was amazing, these two guys were so cool, quick on requests and we had a great time. Food was a great value, dorty martinis were super good and we really had a great time.
Two years ago the Thanksgiving Dinner was excellent as was the wait service. Unfortunately, this year the food was tasteless and cool, and the pumpkin tarimisu was frozen.
Though I made a reservation for six people, our party had to wait 20 minutes for our table, while another party was seated whose reservation was later than mine.
The waitress didn't crack a smile nor was she attentive.
Our server Chelsea was exceptional. The food was good. The wait wasn't too long about 20-30min. The restaurant seemed a little run down.
This is probably my 6th visit to this Romano's. So obviously I have enjoyed it in the past. My visit today was less than satisfactory. Only one waitress and she did a great job considering but there was an extended wait for everything. Instant coffee only thing available--which is an unforgivable sin! My soup, tho tasty, would have even better if it had been warmer than room tempature.
I appreciate this restaurant and I know the staff were working as hard as they could. But they were short staffed, had limited menu items, ran low on silverware, and I witnessed people waiting for a table for the entire length of my meal (which was long). It was evident that they were not ready for a Friday night crowd, and I really felt bad. Perhaps if they just did 2 or 3 menu selections and have them ready on standby like they do on MasterChef, people wouldn't feel so shorted on the experience. The phrase of the evening was "sorry, we're out," and at one point, it was just sad. They didn't even have crayons/pens for the staff to write on the table like they are known for. I'm sorry, but why go?
My husband and I used to LOVE this restaurant, but now I don’t think I’ll go back anytime soon. We had a 6:45 reservation and didn’t get our meal until 8pm. The restaurant was only half full, and the waitress did bring bread, and a refill of salad however the main dish took over an hour to get. When it did arrive, my husband’s was scalding hot (right out of the oven) and mine was barely lukewarm. Not the pleasant experience I was hoping for. Loads of meals were being prepared and boxed up. I guess their takeout and Twisted Mac businesses to precedence over in person customers.
I always enjoy Macaroni Grill. Hope they will solve staffing problems soon.
Service was good manager friendly. Food was hit and miss. Salmon was way over cooked. But manager took care of it for us.
Arrived for reservation and was literally given a 2 hour wait time. The hostess all but turned us away claiming they were just “too busy.” She proceeded to take my phone number, stating she would call when table was open, all while completely complaining about how “horrible” this place is and pretty much accused us of being an inconvenience for having a reservation. I never received a call from her or any other staff member there. So, to sum up the experience, there was none! We ended up eating at Mod Pizza down the street. Which was great!! I remember when Macaroni Grill was a fairly nice place, that you could count on. It was has gone down hill drastically. Even upon entry, the entire establishment appeared unkempt and to be honest, dirty. Save yourself hassle and skip this place!
Macaroni Grill used to be a fun place but after the greed of private equity, like so many other great businesses, it is a shadow of it's former self. This place was so lacking in ambience and quality that I will likely never step foot inside. What a shame.
Service was terrible. Hostess was rude. Waitress was rude. Calamari undercooked, mushy.
Hostess was overwhelmed and curt. We had reservations and still had to wait 15 minutes to be seated. Our entrees came out at the same time as our starter salads. The waiter didn’t check on us through out the meal and only returned once to drop off the check. The food was over priced and ravioli was dry and close to burnt. Definitely not worth the money.
It was nice to be able to have dinner with my parents at a restaurant my Dad really likes. The waitress was WONDERFUL. It took a bit to get our food, but the taste was perfect Nd the size was hood too
It took 45 min to deliver food after ordering. The food quality was poor. Everything was too salty. Will not return.
We decided to use Open Table to make a reservation for July 4th in the evening. The restaurant was not busy at all. We were able to get in with no problem at our selected time. Due to the holiday, they were a bit short staffed, so service took quite a bit longer than usual. Overall, one of our regular places to go.
Service was ok. When I booked a table I requested them to sing happy birthday but they never did.The food is ok nothing special about it.
The service was wonderful. However opentable does allowing overbooking on reservations so we did still have to wait for seating. But the staff was amazing for being so overworked and understaffed. I really hope they are able to hire more staff soon so they can give their overworked/stressed workers they have a now a well deserved break. Can’t wait to go back there again!
Food was good. However, I have a severe nut allergy and they placed biscotti with nuts on the place with my tiramisu. This would have been life threatening if I had not caught it. We specifically asked to confirm no nuts.
Also, our server was not very attentive.
The place needs a good cleaning...little pieces of dust balls were falling from the ceiling and even a piece of chipped paint fell onto the table.
This is not the place we remembered it to be. Not sure if we'll be back again.
Went last night with a friend who I haven’t seen since the world shut down. Anyways, I ordered the Chicken Marsala and although the chicken was tasty, the pasta had NO flavor and there was little to no sauce.
Very disappointed. The Macaroni Grill used to be so amazing back in the day, but the last few times we have gone has been underwhelming. The hostesses seemed lost and lackadaisical, the food was made incorrectly and came out cold, and the overall experience was very disappointing. We were here celebrating a graduation and it really took away from the celebration. Given that many other locations have gone under, it will not be surprising if this location does as well.
We were celebrating My Daughters graduation on line, and food, service make us feel in the right place!!! Thank you so much.
We ordered our drinks that ended up coming after we were halfway through our meal. I asked for a side of Alfredo sauce and it was cold like it was just taken out of the refrigerator. It took over an hour to get our food and our appetizers came halfway through our meal. Our waiter was very nice but not prompt enough. They were not busy at all and it seems like everything was way to slow. The table across the way complained to the manager and got off without paying a dime. I didn’t want to complain as it is not my style but I will write reviews!!!
We had a reservation for 7:15, we weren’t able to get a table until 8pm. it took a while, the server only came to give us our food. They forgot to give us some of our food.
Our server Coral was amazing we will return just for her.
We're at the beginning of the post pandemic reopening, and this is a time of transition. Everyone is trying hard to serve the diners with limited resources. Keep your expectations in check and have a nice dinner.
Food was good as was the service...not the best value around....2 entrees and a salad....$50
Host couldn’t keep reservations straight. Waited 1 1/2 hour to be seated and another hour for our meal, upon receiving our meal 2 were cold and sent back. Upon second return this time on hot plate but food was cold. Waiter was try his best but kitchen was not doing well. We could hear a lot of confusion coming from kitchen. Sent one plate of food back and upon one item being deducted from our bill. There were 4 of us 2 had cold and poor quality meals.
