Its hard to rate an experience when certain factors don't add up. The food at Macaroni Grill is excellent. The service was beyond exceptional. It WAS a holiday meal. But when it takes over 45 minutes to get the meal, that is entirely too long a wait. When your 86 year old Mama asks, when are we going to eat? Where's the food? I'm cold and I'm hungry ... That becomes an epic fail. The reason? Oh, the kitchen is really backed up. In a pandemic, with limited seating? Not quite the response I was expecting.
We were given 1 bread. That's it. No ready-to-serve items (like a salad, on the house, right?!?) No added bread (a real no-brainer), no apologies in the form of either a discounted meal (that offer would have smoothed Mama's ruffled feathers, even though she wasn't paying for it), or the offer of free desserts...even packed up to go.
I offer the above as possible future solutions, because I don't believe in complaining without also offering alternatives. What management chooses to do is entirely up to them.
We arrived just as they were opening. Friendly greeting. Gave us plenty of time to visit before ordering. Nice varied menu. Only complaint was the pasta was over cooked. Will revisit in the future.
So this was the first time we had been back in probably 3 years. We had a super nice waitress but other than that it was a pretty bad experience. The entry way outside was trashy with no plants or anything appealing at all. When we entered it looked completely empty except for a few diners deep into the restaurant. No one was visible and this was at peak dinner hour. Very not fun! My husband’s lasagne was cool and mushy, my fettuccini was not hot either and the bread was brought to us completely cold 2 times. We finally got a hot one after we asked about it. Our dinner salads were brought out at the end of our meal, separately. So it just really was not a good experience at all which is sad because we want you to stay in business.
Good food, friendly server, slow service, seating in booth by kitchen not ideal.
Great service from the host and server. We asked to be seated at a different table (we got sat at the bar as we are a younger looking couple) and didn’t feel like it was a burden to be moved. Service was fast and courteous. Food is always delicious.

Romano's is always a good treat and very prompt with their service, This time around we made a reservation in advance due to the rising number of transients now going out to eat after a year long quarantine, and most places with an average wait time of 30 mins- 2 hours. After we made the reservation we made our way down only to be told that they were not doing reservations as they were short staffed. Had we known this we would have called ahead instead we were treated to a 1 hour and 55 minute wait where we ended up just leaving and going elsewhere.
Made reservations but when we arrived the restaurant claimed to not have communication with open table reservations yet they had my name and reservation information. We were celebrating our anniversary. We had to wait almost an hour outside for a table.

Ordered a steak which was mediocre. Not worth the price. Food was okay.
website says you can make a reservation thru Open Table and it does allow but Host stand says "no reservations"
and not a single beer available; management has a "don't really care" attitude!

I loved the energy of the restaurant, they have an open view kitchen, very friendly and efficient staff, the food is made to order and everything is hands down delicious. I would definitely recommend it to everyone and I will start going here a lot more often
I had their special cabanora pasta and the dish came out to be salty. My wife ordered “ make your own pasta “ and lack flavor and bland. This restaurant use to be great.
It was pointless to make a reservation. We went in and they told us we were going to have to wait 20 minutes max. After 25 minutes we went in and stood at the host station for about 5 minutes until someone came up and told us they took my number down incorrectly. Then we had to wait for another table to be wiped down. The server was alright, but he wasn’t writing anything down and constantly forgot stuff. Asked me my drink order 3 times and I had to wait about 15 minutes for it. Had to wait about another 10 minutes to get an extra napkin. The manger was just hiding out in the back while it seemed his staff had no idea what they were doing. The cook kept pulling his mask down while cooking to talk to people. Our bruschetta came with burnt bread with the toppings on the side, missing cheese though. Our other food was alright. Probably won’t ever go back, I’ve had issues with this location in the past as well.
My calimari came out cold ...we asked for ranch dressing twice and never got it ! We cancelled it and the waitress actually said good?.... really ? The artichoke dip never came we cancelled it ... the meals took forever to come and my husbands margarita took forever we asked twice when it came it wasn’t blended like he asked and had to send it back ... the check took forever and I asked for change and she brought a 20 ... We got there at 7 and didn’t leave till after 9 ... not happy!!!
The service was extremely slow. They forgot our salads and one of the drinks. Which they later took off the bill because it took so long. The food was horrible, I’ve been eating here for years and will probably never return after this. The tables still had circular marks from the drinks from the previous guests. If they want people to return they really need to step up their game.
Please note this is not a review of the restaurant. It is a review of OPEN TABLE. I made and received confirmation for my reservation at Romano's Macaroni Grill. However upon arrival, they told me there was no reservation; they do not take reservations; and they have no affiliation with OPEN TABLE. Luckily the restaurant was not full and we were able to be seated immediately. OPEN TABLE NEEDS TO GET THEIR ACT TOGETHER.
On a great note, Romano's Macaroni Grill was fabulous! Our server was more than attentive and helpful. The food was great! We will definitely return.
The wouldn’t honor our open table reservation...
We arrived and said we had a reservation. The hostess replied that they weren't taking reservations and seemed angry. She said she needed to talk to her manager. She was very rude and obnoxious. I said we had made one online and wasn't our fault we didn't know. She said it wasn't her fault either, very rudely. We left and would never go back there again. Plenty of better Italian restaurants without such a rude hostess.
The service and food were top-notch. The Bibb and Bleu Salad and Mushroom Ravioli were excellent! We will definitely be back!
We made reservations online that were not honored. The service was not as fast as it could have been. It seemed they were short staffed. They took the only thing that I go there for off the menu, eggplant Parmesan. My friend’s mushroom ravioli portion was very small. They brought a glass out for a $34 bottle of wine (out rages) with a big smudge on it which is enough to make you wonder about the cleanliness of other things. Over all a very poor return to inside service. At this current level I would not recommend it to a friend.

Excellent and caring, wait staff went out of their way to take care of us. The outside dining went as well as could be expected, and when we asked for hot water to warm up, they understood immediately and brought us hot water!!
The food was incredible! And they were more than happy to make adjustments! We were very happy with meal.
Don’t bother making a reservation, you’ll just wait in line with all the others with reservations, due to COVID slowdown.

The waitress was the best I’ve had in a long time. Great attitude and super sweet. The business is working hard to survive during covid. They did a great job. Go get some food there!!!
The food is always excellent. The waiter was very slow at everything. The cars in the parking lot were loud and obnoxious. I want to thank them though for figuring out a way for me to be able to come to one of my favorite places and eat during COVID. Not an easy feat.

NOTE: Although Macaroni Grill sends emails to make dinner reservations, the Redlands restaurant doesn't take them! I didn't eat there due to this, so one star is that the Redlands location hasn't bothered to update its website and could care!

Very good outdoor setup considering covid restrictions - but food was just as good as dine in!
We arrived at macaroni grill on time for our reservation we were seated outside and then several minutes another couple was seated along with us in the outdoor dining.
Several minutes later a waiter came out and brought the couple sitting next to us fresh bread and water while we waited for our server to take our drink orders. A little bit later our server came out and took our drink orders, about 10 minutes later one of the waiters brought our drinks and some bread out to us and we noticed that both of our cups had dried food inside of them not a little bit but a lot all over both of the glasses we pointed this out and they brought us new waters and new cocktails. Our waiter came out and apologized saying it was dark in the room where he grabbed the glasses from and apologized, We waited another 10 minutes and the waiter brought out new drinks for us. As you can imagine we were cautious of drinking from war glasses because of how dirty the last ones were and we looked our new drinks over, once again both of our drinks were in dirty filthy disgusting glass is even worse than before one of them had a black fiber that looked like a hair inside of the glass. Once again we pointed out to our waiter that these glasses were dirty again he apologized and we let him know that we were leaving and did not want you eat or drink anything at the macaroni Grill, he apologized and offered us a certificate to come back we declined and left.
It was disappointing and upsetting to arrive with a reservation only to find out that they were not honoring any reservations. Why put up a sign outside a restaurant saying taking reservations and not honor them? I realize due to covid-19 but two servers for their money tables was not enough.
We did not even stay for lunch because one of the available
tables had ice cream all over the ground and the other table
had food all over it. Not sanitary at all. For the prices Macaroni
Grill charges they should keep the few outside tables they have
cleaned and ready for customers.

Took waiter 10 minutes to come to our table. Then he brought bread but no silverware or napkins. There were two plates for the bread and 3 people. When asked for silverware and napkins it took 5 minutes to get them.
We ordered and appetizer and our entrees. Waiter told us our appetizer had just come out and he would get it. 5 minutes later he came by and said the same thing. Then another waiter brought our entrees and 5 minutes later our waiter brought the appetizer.
The place was not busy. Many empty tables.
