Restaurant was more than half occupied, yet guests were expected to wait upwards of 20-30 mins before being seated. It appeared they may have been understaffed based on the amount of tables being used, or not bring used.

Waited at the bar before being seated...bartender had no clue of what she was doing. Sitting there...we had clear view of kitchen. Watched kitchen support (chef or cook??) walk over to refrigerator and grab a slice of cheesecake with his hands and then walked to other side of kitchen to plate the dessert. This individual may have had gloves on, but was touching everything in site with those gloves...and then has someone’s cheesecake lying in the palm of his hands...DISGUSTING / FOOD SAFETY ISSUE!!

Food was not the best.

We will NEVER go to this location again, and would recommend others stay clear of this location as well.

Our was server wa great. But had to stop her, order appetizer an then 5mins later she wanted us to order dinner order. Need to enjoy time with family, not having the food at once. She was VERY, understanding my reasoning. BIG THANK YOU!!!

Absolutely worst service experience ever. Several guests walked out. Manger did not have a clue what was going on even as several customers complained.
Zero service recovery effort by manager or staff. It is not a wonder the restaurant was half empty on a Friday night. We will not return.

Was out of Lamb which was the only thing I really wanted. Has the meatballs which were awesome. The fried mozzarella which was good. Settled for a brick oven pizza which was amazing too. She had the porterhouse steak which was incredible. Great place, just wish I would have gotten to try the lamb.

The fourth time in a row that we have come here and been disappointed. The place was almost empty and yet we still got very poor service. Took over 10 minutes to get a Waiter, once we were seated. We had been there for nearly 30 minutes before we had our bread. The bathroom was a hot mess and everything in the restaurant appeared dusty and falling apart. The server was not very on top of it and stated that he had been there all day, so he was tired. My Daughter ordered ice water and he brought her Dr. pepper? He also tried to say that he brought me an 8 oz glass of wine, but was only going to charge me for 5 oz. Nice try, but that was only 5 ounces pal. I think we are finally done with hoping it will be better each time we go....

We had to wait 50 minutes to be seated, although we had a reservation. They were short of help, which is why I gave it such a poor rating for service. However, our server was excellent , and it was not his fault. I did think the management could have improved the situation by offering a complimentary drink or dessert. That usually goes a long way. They did apologize, which was appreciated. The food was good, and the price was fair.

Restaurant wasn’t even a third full. 10-12 people waiting to be seated. They acted as if our reservation was a bother and seated us in a corner next to service station where a cell phone there was dinging every 30 seconds. We had to ask twice to be waited on. Hostess said she was getting to us ASAP and proceeded to get on the phone. We left without ordering. Will never go back.

The service was very slow, the restaurant was not crowded. We had to ask our waitress for the food after we had been waiting over an hour. She brought it soon after we asked.
We had had a bad experience at Christmas time( food slow and cold) and had not gone back since. Decided to give them another try and it was not a good experience.

Can not remember when I had a worse dining experience. Fail # 1, Appetizer (mussels) were terrible and took forever to arrive at table. Chef came to table and said there were issues in Kitchen and he had to come in on his off day. Fail #2, Waiting forever on entree, finally Chef brings my entree, wanted to know if there was something wrong with the first one sent out?? WTF. This is the first one, and BTW where is my other entree. Entrees were average to poor. Fail #3, ordered dessert. Waiting, waiting, waiting. 20+ minutes. Talk to manager again. Waiting.. finally arrives, seems they had to bake from scratch. Throughout the whole experience, the server didn't have a clue. Didn't even know what was on the menu. So after (2) visits from Chef, (3) visits from Manager, I got out of there. One failure after another. BTW, they did comp the appetizer (LOL)_. Fool me once,...

This was the worst experience I have ever had at a Macaroni Grill. I had a reservation for 6:45 and didn't get seated until 7:30. I told the hostess I would wait at the bar and sat there for 15 mins before being told there was no bartender. A nice server finally noticed me and came to fix me a drink. The server was great and was my server when I was finally seated but was obviously stressed from having too many tables. I saw no manager anywhere. The hostess staff was very stressed as well because I was not the only unhappy customer and there was no front of the house manager to help them. The only good thing I can say is the food was good once I finally got it. This will not keep me from going to Macaroni Grill but this one needs to find some more help.

We never even stayed to have any food after we waited for almost 40 minutes never having had a server come to say hi or even offer water. They were not busy at all, and had multiple servers. Our server walked directly passed our table several without ever even speaking to us, even just to apologize for the wait, offer bread or water, anything. We finally told the hostess who brought us water and promised to have our server right over. Then waited another 10 minutes with absolutely nothing and no one. Needless to say, we left, went to Carrara’s (which was packed) and had a wonderful evening.

Made reservations for my daughter ‘s Birthday and marked the occasion on reservation. Waited 45+ minutes for our food to arrive ( not server’s fault, she had way too many tables; not enough servers). There was no mention of the special occasion (daughter’s birthday) no Happy Birthday, no complementary dessert no anything. I was very disappointed. Since they asked if it was a special occasion I assumed that they would treat it as such.

Not enough staff. When they told us how long we would have to wait (past our reservation time), we complained. They then sat us right away. The food was okay (lettuce wasn’t very fresh) but, it took 1 1/2 hours.

The manager was apologetic.

We would not have stayed if we had gone to the bathroom before we ate. It was dirty and needed basic maintenance.

Our waitress was nice and tried to take care of our party.

Not worth another try.

After being seated we waited one 1/2 hour for our waitress (Taylor) to bring water and bread. It was another 1/2 hour for her to take our order. At the 1 1/2 hour mark we asked how much longer it would be until our food arrived. Her reply was that there were five tickets before ours and she could not predict how long that would take. I ask to see the manager and was told they could not find him. So it was time to leave. Beware and forewarned this location has gone so far downhill it deserves a "0" rating.

Oh my, something was broken! We saw the server of a large party in the banquet room bringing out 1-2 plates every 5-10 minutes. She looked like she wanted to cry. Our freshly baked bread was cold on the inside. It took over an hour to get our dinners. Servers were waiting at the kitchen for their plates. All the tables around us were on the slow track. It seemed a lot of us got a 25% discount, but it was a bummer way to spend the evening with my son and his friend.

Had a 6:30 reservation and was seated after 7:15...ridiculous. our server was pleasant but no appetizer after ordering for 45 minutes. Food was excellent however we will not return. Very poor management. Not worth it.

We were 20 mins early and were seated right away. Server was attentive in the beginning. Ordered Brussel Sprouts for an app, waited 15 for them to come. Once they arrived they were out of the balsamic vinegar glaze. Did not offer to comp us or offer a replacement. When the food arrived the lasagne piece was underwhelming. Small for the price. The totellenci entree was warm but the sauce was cold. The lobster bisque has a good flavor just no pieces of lobster or anything else. Ladies restroom was in very bad shape. Needs repaired on multiple levels. I would be embarrassed if I were the manager with a restroom in that bad of shape. Floor was very sticky. Restaurant was very run down.

I can recall when there was a considerable wait for a table at Romano's Macaroni Grill. The service was good and food decent for an italian chain. Not so on any level the past couple times we have been but this last trip was "wont be back" bad. The restaurant was half empty and still took extreamly long for service. When food did arrive it was sad at best. My favorite salad, Bibb and Blue was wilted and lacked flavor. I got a chicken dish that consisted of a thin wafer of chicken served with a side of gummy pasta.
Too many restaurants in Louisville that are able to offer excellent service, food and value for me to return here.

We arrived with a reservation and got seated on time. However, after that it took the server 30 min JUST to get our drinks. We didn’t get bread until after we got our food. My husband asked for a refil and wasn’t given one until AFTER we were done eating and ready to leave. My son wanted the kids spaghetti and meatballs, was told they were out. This was probably my WORST experience at ANY restaurant I have ever ate at. When we were leaving we heard another couple saying they were NEVER eating here again. WE ALSO AGREED, we have ate at this establishment before but will NEVER again!

WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE!!!

A friend and I dined in the restaurant Friday March 8th. We arrived early for our 6:15 reservation time. We were seated immediately and was offered a plastic covering for a dripping umbrella however, it never appeared. We sat and started going over the menu and after 20 minutes had to ask for our server. A family was seated next to our table who also voiced that they would like their server as well. At this point the restaurant was by no means full. Maybe diners at 10-15 tables. Our server was at our table within 5 minutes and pleasant and promptly took our drink order and delivered water, bread and our bar order within a reasonable amount of time. A few moments later our food order was taken and then another wait of about 30 minutes for our food. When it arrived my dish was mediocre warm but my friends was piping hot as I could see the steam rising. I didn’t dare send it back in fear that it would be even longer as now the restaurant was full. The food was delicious in flavor. The server returned close to the end of our meal to check on our food preparation which, as a former server, was a little late. There was no offer for dessert, just how we would like the check (1 or 2). After we had paid our bill and about to leave, another loaf of bread was brought to our table and we advised that we had not ordered it as we were leaving. Management needs to get a handle on service here or there will be many more complaints. Friday and Saturday should be staffed accordingly.

We were please to make a reservation through Open Table. Our table was ready upon our arrival. The staff was attentive and friendly. Our food was served in a timely manner, cooked to order, and tasty. We would go back.

Our reservation was at 5:30. We were seated after some confusion and did not receive bread for a while. Our server was annoyed that a large party was in the dining area. No one in our area received their food for over an hour. Then a couple that came in after us, received theirs. My order was incorrect so we had to wait longer. Large party wrapped around our table to pay their various bills causing an unpleasant, loud, and crowded meal. We were still there after seven, waiting for our bill. Terrible experience.

We arrived on time for the reservations. The hostess told us they were not organized so we waited 30 minutes for a table. The restaurant was empty. The booth was very nice. The waitress came over to take drink order and food order. She kept complaining about the disorganization. Her complaints were consistent with the hostess’s complaints. My eyes were burning from the blue smoke from the chef’s area. Smelled like burned bread. The food took 25 mins to arrive. The salads were cold and pretty good. The watered down cocktails arrived after the salads. We waited another 25 minutes for a cold dinner to arrive. The mashed potatoes and lamb was sent back as they were cold. 20 minutes later they came back cold. So we gave up. Once the dishes were cleared we were handed a check and never offered coffee or dessert. The restaurant was empty on a Friday night which is not a good thing. The health grade was only a B. This chain has a really good menu selection but the problem was the delivery. I would love to see the service and food improve at this restaurant. I would be disappointed to see this restaurant disappear. The location is good and there is plenty of parking.

Took over an hour to receive our food and when came the portions were small. Food was not hot, ordered meatballs and spaghetti my wife’s had only 1 meatball and I had none. Barely any spaghetti on plate very little sauce. Was offered no refills on our drinks . Had to ask for silverware and napkins. Overall very poor and will not go back. Only bright spot was that they comp’d our meal.
