Well, our server after we ordered wine and dinner, received the wine and bread..suddenly quit.
We were left hanging as were several others with no SERVER.
We noticed the issue and asked to talk to the manager who stated the server had abruptly quit.
we did get a 20% off our food and we were not in a hurry anyway.
They tried to catch up but obvious issues on New Years Eve for a 7:30 dinner
Extremely long wait for predinner drink order. Did not come until almost done with food. Waiter did apologize multiple times and Mgr stopped by to comp our drinks. We appreciated this. They said bar was backed up.
This was a NYE family dinner for a party of six. Our drinks took a very long time, the water never came until we asked 4 times. Bread service came late and the server did not prep the olive oil plates. When our meals came, it was obvious they had sat a long time under the heat lamps as the white sauces were shiny and congealed, and other things were dry. The food was tepid at best. The service was slow and the server kept my card until I asked for it which is a big gigantic red flag.
Overall the ambiance: NONE... the worst looking place with its stark lack luster appearance. The bussers were hanging around and when they did clear a table, they would drop things and leave a mess on the floor. The place was dirty. The hostess, was unfriendly and barely smiled. I would NEVER go back hear again. and for the prices.... the place should give or do more. As they say, it starts at the top and I can only assume the manager of this place just doesnt care anymore.
We had a reservation for Christmas evening. The restaurant was running out of food: bread, lettuce, chicken dishes, desserts. Since reservations were needed for the night, expectation would be that food on the specialized menu would be available, especially rather early in the evening. The price would have been good for that special menu, but when ordering off the menu, then the price went up for requested items that were available. We had to request silverware from the hostess and the waitress was so stressed that she was almost tossing things on the table and constantly looking around at her various tables. Her lack of good service and demeanor may not have totally been her fault. One of the meals ordered off the menu and one of the desserts were tasted and put aside.
I made a dinner reservation for 2 through OpenTable; however, when we arrived the hostess informed me they did not have a reservation for me. I provided her with my confirmation number and she very bluntly said she couldn't do anything for me and they were all booked up. I asked if an accommodation could be made because it was our Christmas dinner and she informed me they were booked (despite visible open tables) and she couldn't push someone else out because they didn't have my reservation. I asked for the manager and he apologized for the problem and worked to get us a table. It was a pre-set, 3-course holiday menu so we were already limited in our options. I requested soup and was told they were out. They were out of the rosemary fresh bread, so we got a small loaf of ciabatta bread. Of the 2 dessert options, the chose a pumpkin cheesecake and was told it was frozen and asked if I'd be okay with the gelato or plain cheesecake. It was 6 pm....how were they SO unprepared? It was such a hassle and we were already made to feel like an inconvenience. We didn't feel like paying $25 per person for a pre-set menu that barely had anything available so we left. It was a bad way to end our Christmas Day.
We went on Christmas Day and the Food and service were great as usual!! They had a specially priced 3-course Christmas menu that included some of their best entree options. Excellent food at a great price!
Our server was working hard but very overwhelmed by the business. I totally understand that it’s hard to staff on Christmas but if the restaurant is going to be open then they should be staffed and ready. This sadly was not the case.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal! Food and wine was great. Stag did a pretty good job given the Holiday crowd.
We came for dinner Christmas Eve and, although we were expecting the restaurant to be busy, did not expect such a terrible dining experience. Even though we had a reservation, wait time was more than half an hour. During that time, we sat at the bar, to be ignored by the bartender for the first 15 minutes. After being seated at our table we waited for another 20 minutes before having to get up and ask if we were going to be served. And did the food make up for the extended wait? Not a chance. Parmesan fries were stone cold, chicken was rubbery and tasteless. We've been to dinner other times, other restaurants, when things haven't gone as they should. A manager is always present, coming by to right any wrongs and making you feel as if your patronage is appreciated. At Romano's Macaroni Grill, not a manager in sight. Will we ever go to this restaurant again? Not in my lifetime.
Incredibly slow service. Granted it was Christmas Eve, but they should have been more prepared. Never received a second glass of wine I ordered and then waited 30 minutes for the charge to be removed from our check.
Terrible terrible service. We asked for water, bread and refills multiple times on multiple occasions. Worst service I’ve experienced in a long time. Food was just bland and average. Nothing exciting.
Service was horribly slow, food was just ok, service was bland. Waitress didn't smile much, didn't talk much and looked like she was there against her will.
I hadn't been to Macaroni Grill in years, but they had reservations open on Christmas Eve (my first clue) and it used to be a great restaurant, so I booked it for my family of 4. The server was very nice to begin with, but I don't know if they were understaffed or what, but she was very inattentive from that point on. Our table had only been set for 2, that became evident when she started pouring wine and there were only 2 wine glasses on the table. I asked for wine glasses and she only brought back one. We were only offered red wine. I asked if they had white and she said yes, but never brought any, so my son and I decided to just share the one glass of red. We asked for 2 more napkins and plates when she brought the bread. We got napkins, but never any plates. Had to ask for waters. Then she disappeared. We asked for more bread...they were out and needed to make more. We waited with nothing while they baked more bread, thinking we would be getting our salads. She finally brought some more bread (still no plates), then our entrees show up by another server. I said we never got salads and he rushed away like it wasn't his problem. Our server never checked on us again until we were finished. She asked how everything was and I told her were never got any salads, she said "they never brought them?" and rolled her eyes. Had she checked on us more she would have known that. She asked if we wanted dessert, but by that time we were over the whole experience. She brought the bill and said "I took your salads off", like she was doing us a favor. My husband said, "I would hope so...we never got them!" She did redeem herself in that I left my cell phone on the table and she followed us out to bring it to us, which then made me feel bad for leaving her a small tip. I hate leaving negative reviews, but this was the worst experience I have had in a restaurant...that used to be upscale...in a long time. After reading others, it appears this is a common problem.
Our server, Bow was excellent, however the food isn't what it was a year or so ago. My chicken was small, overcooked pieces. The house white wine was lousy.
Awful service. Server was inattentive and seemed mad at the world. No team work. Very disappointing place to bring a group of 11 to for a birthday celebration. Orders were wrong.
At best, the food was mediocre. I was hoping to be pleasantly surprised since I usually do not frequent very large chain restaurants. The family was given gift cards so we thought why not try it.
The service was fine. The young girl did her best to keep up with a VERY busy and loud atmosphere. However, we did have to ask for several items repeatedly. The appetizers were fine. Unfortunately, my mother's soup (bisque) was very salty and had to be returned to the kitchen. However, the server was kind enough to offer to remove it from my bill.
I tried their house Truffle Mac and Cheese. The dish was slathered in a salty orange cheese sauce (that reminded me of something you buy) in a jar and topped with a very salty coating of garlic breadcrumbs (??). Instead of returning it, I just picked at it and called it a night. The other entrees ordered were OK.
Overall, I was disappointed. My in-laws used the opportunity to try new foods, and they did not care for any them (and I can attest to those entrees' preparation). I had to reassure them that if they had the same dish in any another restaurant, they would probably enjoy it.
Upscale food,decent prices
Wanted Steak and Potatoes. Sheepish waiter comes back aft 10min and said they ran out. Barely an apology. And no acknowledge nor apology from the Night Manager that was walking around greeting tables, Probably will not return. Ambience poor too. Other adjacent tables left with dirty dishes and stuff aft those diners left. No bus help to clean tables. Slow night doesn't mean tables can be left sirty and uncleaned.....
The food was good, not great, and so over priced. The service from the hostess was good and the manager stopped by which was nice, but the waitress was not great. We had to flag down someone constantly just to keep water in our glasses. The waitress forgot to bring stuff we asked for every time. When we asked about the choice options on our meals she explained that it comes with one thing and she wasn’t supposed to ask if we wanted the other choice because they didn’t have enough. When I started to ask her how the Caesar salad was going to be made with the romaine recall, she interrupted me and explained what they were subbing it with in manner of “Guh...why do I even have to answer this” attitude.
The price for the food was pretty high for what we ordered. We can definitely get better Italian food AND service for a better price at many other places.
A few things to comment on. We got there and were seated quickly, and then things started going south. It took a good 5 minutes before someone came to the table to offer water. Once the server came, they forgot butter. Literally 10 minutes later we got butter after asking her twice. It was another 5 minutes before she took our order. At this point we had been there for over 20 minutes before putting our order in!
Our food was good, except for the chicken parm, which was way burnt. It took 5 minutes to flag down our server, we told her and showed her the issue, and she had kitchen make some more. The replacement was fine. But now we have been there for about 50 minutes and our server can’t be found. Again another 10 minutes and she came back, and we received the bill.
Needless to say, the food was good including the non burnt chicken Parmesan. But the service was simply not good.
Ok, that was a bit annoying. But then the entre came out, and some problems
We ordered their three entre plate, lasagna, chicken parmigiana, and Mac n cheese.
Was a very busy night when we went. But we enjoyed our dinner. Wine, appetizer & meal were delicious.
Great place for an event and our server was awesome!
The service was terrible. The first table they put us at was dirty. They advertise unlimited soup or salad, but our server never came back to ask if I wanted more. We were very disappointed and will never go back.
He food was ok. Our server was terrible. My wife orderwd unsweet tea- had to ask 3 different people in order to get a sweet and low. Also our server neglected to bring our table bread until we asked. I understand that everyone can have a bad night, but I probably won't go back to this location.
It took 1 1/2 Hours to get our food. 45 Minutes to get our bar drinks. My beer was warm, which tells me it sat for a long while before delivered. Was not busy at the time with many empty tables. Manager gave us 1 comp meal for our troubles out of 5 of us. He seemed like it was no big deal that we were unhappy. I never complain, but this was an awful experience. Will not ever go back!
Staff was friendly and accommodating for our large group. Lovely atmosphere that allows for conversation.
I usually give them an amazing review but cannot this time due to the restaurant being closed down due to an electrical storm outage..we could not cancel the reservation due to either them not answering but more likely because they were unable to as the phones were more likely than not out as well..knowing this we will definitely be back!!
Overpriced considering the quality of food was average.
Service was ok, but not very attentive considering the restaurant wasn't busy at all.
Service was very poor. She was very slow and even rolled her eyes at my son when he requested fresh Parmesan for his entree. Two of us sat with empty water nearly the entire meal and she didn’t even give us the courtesy of a drop by. The manager was non existent. For a Sat evening is not a good sign.
The restaurant did not have our Open Table reservation for 7 people. We only had to wait for about 10 minutes for a table, but were told that we wouldn’t have a waiter for 30 minutes. Not handled very well by the manager.
Father’s Day— had to send back mushrooms because they tasted terrible. Waitress did not check on us but once. Children had empty drinks until I finally asked for refills. We have loved this place for many years, they always made you feel special; not this time. Maybe this is why they were not busy at all on Father’s Day.
We waited over an hour from the time we ordered until the time our food was served. The management didn’t even offer to comp us a dessert for the poor service when we complained.
It was Mother's Day. I chose Macaroni Grill because it is my favorite Italian restaurant. Many people made reservations through Open Table. Macaroni Grill very badly managed their reservations. They left things wide open as to how many people they could sit at 1:30. Someone at Open Table needs to educate Macaroni Grill (at least the one at 75 & Legacy in Plano, TX) on how to work their reservations. Then, they need to manage 100 people all arriving at the same time (MOST with reservations) -- walk down the line and find out what you have in front of you. DON'T ignore your customers. But, as always, the food was excellent and the servers did the best they could -- the manager only scheduled 2 chefs for this time of day! Awful management that day.
Was there for mothers day. Had a reservation for 115pm but didn't get a table till 2pm. It was very chaotic. People with reservation had to wait because they were seating walk ins as well. Once we got a table , we had to wait and extra 45 mins to get our food and it came out wrong. I was afraid to tell them because I didn't want to wait for another 45 mins for them to fix my food. My overall experience on mothers day was a 2 stars.
DID NOT GET TO EAT HERE - OPEN TABLE OVER BOOKED THIS PLACE AND IT WAS A 3 HOUR WAIT WITH RESERVATION. NOT COOL!
Understaffed. Drinks went empty all the time, had to get the waiters attention to ask for refills. Ordered a glass of wine and didn't get it for about 15 minutes. Had to ask for it again. Food was expensive and sub-par. Portions just average.
Poor booking and handling of crowd. Kitchen and wait staff not ready for full house.
I had Christmas dinner and ordered lamb chops at 5:30 p.m. "We're out" disappointed, but
I'll try this place again.
Friday night 4/20 6:30 I ordered the salmon.
After 45 minutes of waiting with four teenagers and expecting my meal at any time I'm informed "we're out".. okay I'll order chicken marsala. Wait another 20 mins they bring me my over cooked meal with burned garlic!
