Manager and waitress were great! Busy on the day we went for mother’s day.
I guess we won’t be going back to Macaroni Grill for any special occasions. They were not equipped for the amount of people eating there. First, we had to wait 30 minutes after or reservation time to go to our table. Second, I asked for our table not to be in the middle so guess where our table was?!? The table was in such a bad place that the wait staff must have hit my chair 50 times walking by me. Third, the waitress was not very good. She only refilled my tea once and that’s because I said something. I told her I was paying for my family’s meal plus my mother’s and she looked at me like I was crazy. I could keep going but this explanation is long enough. Overall just not a very good experience.
Service was pretty slow. However it was mothers day. Server was very nice but we came in right after the lunch rush. It appeared everyone was exhausted. My mom didnt get her food until everyone else was completely finished eating. She only ordered chicken fingers. The manager took her meal off but again it was obvious the stress level was high. The server was moving slow and we had a hard time getting what we needed when we needed it. Her attitude made up for the poor service. We had a great time with our family and that's the most important thing.
I made a reservation for 18. The tables were set up but they were short 9 servers. We waited an hour at our table to give our order. I spoke to the manager on duty and she gave us free appetizers because she said she should have 15 servers and only had 6 ( it was Mother’s Day) and that the kitchen was working slowly too. The food was good but our poor waitress was not only having to wait on us but other tables as well. I do not blame the waitress at all for our poor experience but the management or ownership of the restaurant. The manager that day was also new and had not gone through manager’s training yet. She was doing her best but putting someone not trained to run the restaurant on the busiest day of the year does not make sense.
BAD all around. Bad service. Cold food. Appetizers came after the cold food. Place was NOT busy. Lasagna was frozen in the middle. Cold soup. Only the pizza was warm. This p,ace has been here too long. Needs to close or get a manager👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
Opentable should remove Romano’s Macaroni Grill from its service. I highly doubt they are still in business by the end of summer. Everyone dining at this establishment today was complaining. We waited for over an hour and never got our food and ended up leaving.
Besides the hostess telling me I was lucky to have a table ready even though I made reservations. Or I would have to wait an hour to be seated. Then being seated in the back in front of the fire exit which I know shouldn’t have been blocked. Then waiting 20 minutes for someone to ask us what we would like to drink. The waitress on the other hand was awesome!!! But then we had to wait an hour just to get served our order and with that half the food that was served was cold. I had been to this establishment around two years ago and it was an awesome experience but after Sunday I don’t think I’ll ever go back or recommend this place to anyone!
I've eaten here several times and have always has an enjoyable experience, however today was a different story. It seems the restaurant wasn't prepared for the Mother's day crowd. Although we were seated immediately, it was 15 minutes before our order was taken and then another 45 minutes to an hour before we got our food. Once the food arrived, 2 of the meals were cold and had to be sent back. Definitely not a great experience.
This was mother's day and the staff was very accomodating. There were a number of challenges from the kitchen. Sophia was a wonderful server for us and she recognized the kitchen was trying, but could not keep up with the volume. Very European experience.
Reservation made for 1:15 but when we arrived they said it would be at least an hour wait due to kitchen staff getting behind. Ok it was Mother’s Day but they should have either staffed up for the surge or not accepted the reservation. We did not wait and therefore did not dine.
Had a reservation through open table for Mother’s Day but when we arrived, they said we would have to wait an hour to an hour and a half and the kitchen was backed up by an hour for orders. The restaurant was completely unprepared for their reserves guests.
The food and wait staff were excellent. However, it was Mother's Day and the wait time for the food was awful. We had a 1:00 PM reservation and it was 3:10 PM until we were finished.
My review is based mostly on past experiences. My reservation for Mother’s Day was not honored due to the excessive crowd. We were asked to wait 30 min which we did. As that time approached my girlfriend asked how much longer and was told the kitchen was about 1.5h behind. She was nonplused by this but an irate older man behind her began to berate both she and the two young hostesses. He used a profundity of profanity even referring to them all as “b”’s and after my gf stood up for the young ladies he referred to her as a “f”ing “c”. I’m sure you can fill in the blanks. She left and so did we. (She relayed this to me later). She did mention how professional those two you ladies were in taking the abuse he gave. I’ll return one day just not on mother’s day. But father’s day is soon...
I will never return. They are poorly managed and poorly planned. This is one of the worst restaurants in Greenville. The food tastes canned or packaged. It ruined Mother’s Day for us. The wait after we were seated for food was two hours. It was absurd. The people around us were leaving left and right. Another family waited two and a half hours. It was a huge disappointment. The manager was completely rude and disrespectful to everyone who spoke to her.
After 2hrs of waiting they had not begun cooking our food. We left without eating. The manager came to our table several times to tell us our food was coming soon but they hadn't even started it. When you have a reservation that shouldn't happen. I won't be going back.
We typically love this restaurant but we went on Mother's Day and it was just bad. Two of us ordered the same entree yet they looked very different from each other. Despite being there early in the day, noon, we waited over an hour for our food. We ordered appetizers and they came out with the entrees. The food wasn't at the level we have come to expect with Macaroni Grill. Very disappointing.
It was great having a reservation. We didn’t have to wait at all. Our waitress was ok. She let us know that she was extremely stressed because there was a visiting manager from Miami who was constantly yelling at her and all the other servers. She told us one server had quit because of the visiting manager. She told us that she had over 30 years in the industry and has never been treated that way. We placed our orders fairly quickly but it took at least 20 minutes just to get our salads. Our server sent one of the managers over to our table to apologize but that manager told us our server was new and she didn’t know what she was doing. That confused us a bit. Two minutes after we received our salads we received our food. Well, everyone received their food except me. Ten minutes later our server came by to check on us and I mentioned my food was missing. She went to check and brought it out. Evidently it had been sitting at the window because it was cold. Overall I would say it was ok. But I won’t go back anytime soon. We felt bad for the server but I really don’t think she should have shared the management issues with us. She should have done her best to serve us regardless of what was going on in the back area. And, whoever is visiting manager should be relocated because he is solely responsible for making the servers miserable which leads to bad customer service.
The service was very slow and the food was just ok. Its an Italian restaurant and when I ordered pizza I was informed that they were out of pizza dough.
Excellent food and service for a family reunion. Would highly recommend for two to twenty people.
Very disappointing and overpriced. A family of four unanimously felt that the food just missed being "good". When your hungry child who adores macaroni and cheese pushes a half-eaten plate away and says "it's ok", you know it isn't just you. The best thing about the meal were the desserts and even those were too sweet. We will not go back.
We had a new person but she had too many tables and she had great difficulty in staying organized. Management should have taken notice and I lay this on the higher ups to be more aware of what is going on in the restaurant. The plethora of issues the poor girl was experiencing and in turn not receiving any help by staff or the manager. Usually with the amount of problems, a manager will come by but nothing. I ask you to train and assist your staff more. It would have made everyone’s experience a lot better.
Service was awful and food came out cold. I would not recommend for the prices.
We were seated promptly but waited one hour for our main course after ordering. At one point, our server said that our orders would be "right out". Ten minutes later, we were told that an error had been made and that our orders had inadvertently not been placed with the kitchen.
Manager was somewhat conciliatory by reducing our bill by 25% for the abnormal wait.
We enjoyed delicious food and great service. The Butternut Tortelacci and Sea Salt Carmel gelato were especially good.
Delicious meal and great service. Thank you Macaroni Greenville for making our first night in town so nice. We will be back!
Overall good, but service was slightly lacking. The waitress neglected us a bit and I believe it was because we were a two top, but servers should keep in mind that they are still expecting a tip from smaller parties.
Not as good as others we have visited. Calamari was overlooked and like rubber! Server very nice yet overwhelmed with to many tables.
Service was not good. We had a young, inexperienced or un-trained waiter, we had to ask for some bread, couldn't open our bottle of wine, broke the cork, the salads took forever to come out and just as soon as we got them, our meals arrived. We had to ask them to take them back until we finished our salads. However, when they came back, they were obviously sitting under heat lamps too long and the pasta got hard. And in the end, they gave us the wrong bill which they had to correct.
We started off valentines day at Romano‘s macaroni grill and our waitress, Stephanie, was so sweet and upbeat. She made recommendations and welcomed us and was so pleasant throughout the evening. The stuffed mushroom appetizers were delicious, our entrées were delicious and the dessert was simply fabulous. We could not have asked for a nicer Valentine’s Day dinner.
Ordered the create your own, very bland no salt
We did enjoy our meal. It was good but have had better at other Italian restaurants. We made reservations but wouldn't have needed to. The venue was not crowded for a Friday night. The wine was very good and our server was excellent. His name is Romero. Would I travel from home to come here again? Possibly would but only if I was going to be in Greenville at that time.
Always enjoy some good Italian style food. Lunch is a great time to go; after the rush, it gets quieter and makes for a nice, relaxing time. Getting to doodle on the table cover makes time fly as you wait for the food to arrive.
Computers were having issues and it took 45 minutes to pay. Other than that, food was great and waiter was nice.
Food was not up to what we expect from Macaroni Grill. Lobster bisque was just ok, tomato basil soup tasted like spaghetti sauce, salad was fine, and entrees also fine. Desserts and bread were great.
The service was subpar, especially for it to not be busy or crowded. Our salads came out less than 5 minutes before our entrees and were awful.
Requested a booth, given a table. Food wasn’t great, service was bad and we won’t be back.
Very disappointing service. It was NYE but not crowded and the wait times between events (drinks, order taking, refills, check, etc) were too long. At one point we were the only diners in the building and still had to wait for service. Food was great, though.
Service was lackluster and the restaurant was approximately 30% full on New Year's Eve.
Had to repeatedly ask for varying service related issues such as silverware, drink refills, additional food items.
The food was warm at best and the effort to get it reheated would not have been worth it due to the levels of service experienced prior.
Very disappointing dinner event, but now I fully understand why the restaurant was only 30% full on a New Year's Eve.
It was not crowded but poor service. Had to ask several times wine, drinks. Waitress brought wrong salad. Waited long time to be served. Some food was cold. It appeared the waitress had too many tables to wait on, not enough staff. Very disappointed this time and not sure will return. Have really enjoyed past visits. 5 people were with us and poor service for a Thursday night.
