The lasagna bologna was cool that we ordered.
Was nice and quiet for lunch. No complaints. Service superb.
Food was good, but clearly premade/frozen and reheated. Table of five and nobody’s food came out at the same time.
Valentines Day dinner. Seated 40 minutes AFTER our reservation time because they were ‘overbooked’. My wife’s food was completely cold by the time our food came out. Our service was good though.
We had reservations for 830pm and was seated until after 9pm. They were sold out of several items on the menu. Food took very long to come out. We left the restaurant at almost 11:30pm
We went to Romanos, in Mckinney, on Christmas. Even though we made reservations, it still took awhile to be seated. Once we were seated, it took at least 30 minutes to get waited on. On Valentine's, it took 40 minutes to be seated, again, we made reservations. Once we were seated and ordered, we were told that several item on the Valentine's menu were out of stock.
Unfortunately, all was great except the time to be served. Took over 20 minutes to get drinks and over 90 to get our main courses. Several other tables in our area had same slow service.
I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt that it was Valentines Day crowds and inexperienced staff.
Food was fantastic!
Enjoyed our Valentine dining experience at Romano's Macaroni Grill. The food was good as always. Our waiter's name was Sam. He did an excellent job.
The service was great however the food is bland. Don’t think I will go there again.
Romano's Macaroni Grill in Frisco does not disappoint. The warm welcoming atmosphere invited us to feel at home. Efficient service and consistent quality in food makes you want to come back.
We had an amazing time and the host staff was friendly and helpful! Thank you for helping to make the meeting special!
Wonderful experience, Jordan was attentive and was very nice!
Took forever to get our meal - party of 10 - was only decent. not great service.
I'm sorry to say that tonight's visit missed the mark for our family. We realize it's New Year's Eve, and we weren't looking for anything fancy - the regular MG-fare - bread, olive oil, cracked pepper, and grated cheese. In the end, NONE of these staple experiences were delivered.
We arrived 20 minutes early for our 7pm reservation. Despite a multitude open 4-tops in the restaurant, we were told we would have to wait until "our" table came available. Promptly, at 7pm, we checked back with the hostess, and were informed that "our" table wasn't ready because the previous clients were still there and had been for over two hours. We asked about the other empty tables, but were told those were reserved.
By 7:15pm, we were seated. Our waiter was trying to be helpful, but was clearly overwhelmed, as was the kitchen staff. There was no bread. No olive oil and pepper. Our waters were never re-filled. The appetizer was the highlight of the meal. The entrees were underwhelming. The ingredients were there (except for some shrimp), but the dishes barely met the standard of your average chain restaurant. Again, I realize it's NYE. I realize it's a national chain, but when we left at 8:30pm, the tables were less than 75% full, and the back of the house was closed (perhaps for a party taking place later).
Clearly the community knows what we did not - this is NOT up to the Macaroni Grill standard. This is the first negative review I've ever written on OpenTable. The food quality is not great. The service staff is struggling. The kitchen staff is clearly not meeting the standard. We were offered free dessert, but passed. We were offered 25% off our check, and accepted, which was kind.
In the end, I don't think we'll be back for a while. This Macaroni Grill had been a reliable, easy place for our family for nearly two decades, but no longer. We sincerely hope this restaurant can bouce back. For now, we're sorry, MG, but we're moving on.
Christmas Eve.. long wait.. even with reservation on open table.
Wait or was extremely helpful, but it took 30 minutes to get our salad and another hour and half to get our dinner. Poor management. Seem to be cooking pickup orders before in house orders.
Whomever makes the schedule at this place should be fired. Monday before Christmas and they were ridiculously short staffed. Had a reservation for 6:30 and was not sat until 6:45. Waited another 10 minutes to be greeted and waited another 10-15 minutes to get our drinks. Each person's entree was brought out separately. The bill was $95. For that, we should've went to Maggiano's and got better service and way better food and atmosphere. We won't be returning.
Service was very poor! We were told at 6pm that they were out of bread, while other servers were serving bread at nearby tables. Our food sat on the counter by the cooking area for well over 10 minutes. Pasta was cold and hard by the time we received it. Sauce had broken down and turned watery. One dish was incorrect and had to be sent back. Server never came by to check on us. We had to leave the table to locate him in order to get our bill. Will never return!
Really bad service
The food was good as always. Our service was good but very slow. It could over 45 minutes to get us our food and there was hardly anyone else in the restaurant.
The service was terrible and so was the food. Very disappointing and will definitely not return. You would think on Thanksgiving you would get good food and service but I was wrong.
Came in on time for our reservation. Our group composed of 2 infant, 2 kids, 2 teens and 4 adults. Reservation was for a family get together. When we arrived, wait staff was great but service level started to decline as the evening wore on. There restaurant wasn’t crowded and there plenty of empty tables but the orders took forever to get served. Worse, the first two dishes dishes were served cold and a couple were lukewarm. They keep refilling the drinks just to make up for the wait which was good but serving the food cold and lukewarm was not. Although the bill was discounted due to the long wait, it was still terrible service since the manager didn’t even came forward to apologize. We’ve been to Macaroni Grill in Lewisville several times and we never experienced cold/lukewarm food or even long wait despite of the restaurant being filled to capacity. This branch was totally had bad service.
Not that great as every time
Romano's was just okay. It's not as good as Maggiano's by any means. I ordered a Chicken Marsala and the dish came out like an overcooked microwave chicken dinner. My daughter's pepperoni pizza was a greasy mess and the fries were even greasier. I have never seen fries so greasy before, they were literally dripping with grease. Silverware was dirty as were the booth seats. This was my first and most likely last time dining at Romano's. For what I spent at Romano's, I could have gotten more bang for the buck going to Maggiano's.
Good food and loved the BOGO deal!
The food was great, but our server was overwhelmed with our party of 14. We had to ask multiple times for drinks and appetizers. It took over an hour to get our entrees and the restaurant was less than half full.. 5pm on a Monday
Our server was a jerk! He brought the olive oil but no bread. I said after 2 minutes, do we. Get bread, and his answer was, “oh do you want bread”. I said of course! He needs training on serving and how to speak to customers.
My order (grilled salmon with orzo pasta) was not as expected. I had this dish several times before; this time the orzo pasta was quite spicy and did not have the previously garlic taste.
Tonight was our first time here. The food and the service were both so great. We will definitely be back.
Great place to take the family! Location is great, service was even better!
Just average. Nothing that was great nothing that was poor.
We had 12 people get together on Saturday night for a meal. Service was very hood, food was great, and we were serenaded with an Italian aria. Really enjoyable evening!!
Great ambience and delicious food.
Will return again.
Worst experience ever. After we watched our food sit on the window for 7 + minutes it came out cold. We requested it be remade or heated up and proceeded to get back talk from the server And food runner. I have never been questioned at a restaurant so this was a shock. I waited tables and bartended for 5 years and would never treat a guest like this. Manager came out and said that if anything else happens to let him know. Or one single person came back to the table except to ask us if it wad one check. I want it to be known that I am ruching out to corporate on this. This place truly has no concept of hospitality.
We went on Mother's Day and it was very crowded and NOISY. The food was delicious; my husband had a complaint about his dish (cold), but they promptly made it right. Service was good, but slow. By the time we left, the crowd had dwindled and it was less noisy. The table next to ours came and went twice by the time we left.
I haven’t been to a Romano’s for some time. My brother and I arrived early so we sat at the bar and ordered a margarita flatbread. 30 minutes later when it hadn’t come, I asked where it was? The bartender checked and reported the Kitchen had burned it and were making another. Later we sat down at a table in the back. The server was prompt, took our orders, brought us our drinks and salads and that was the last we saw of him. When our food arrived, no one removed the salad or bread plates (we had to stack them ourselves to make room for the main course), no one offered us cheese nor were our water glasses refilled. By now the room behind was filled with a large noisy party making conversation all but impossible. The next time we saw our server was when he brought us our check. Although the food was good, the service was terrible.
It took almost 40 minutes to get our food and it was not busy. The waiter was nice and friendly, but the food was not as good as it used to be.
Fabulous family fun, Italian cuisine and quality staff! Load up the car and go there!! Ran and Jan.
I would not reccomend Frisco location, the girl at the front reception did not know our party was already there, we had to wait. The waiter was scattered among many tables, our food came out very late. The manager in the Burgundy shirt, told me there is no quiter place in the restaurant to sit with a table. I saw some quite places, but he said "no such thing ". Its a beautiful restaurant, nice food, but service stinks.
