Romano's Macaroni Grill - Frisco
Book your next event with us
Great ambience and delicious food.
Will return again.
Worst experience ever. After we watched our food sit on the window for 7 + minutes it came out cold. We requested it be remade or heated up and proceeded to get back talk from the server And food runner. I have never been questioned at a restaurant so this was a shock. I waited tables and bartended for 5 years and would never treat a guest like this. Manager came out and said that if anything else happens to let him know. Or one single person came back to the table except to ask us if it wad one check. I want it to be known that I am ruching out to corporate on this. This place truly has no concept of hospitality.
We went on Mother's Day and it was very crowded and NOISY. The food was delicious; my husband had a complaint about his dish (cold), but they promptly made it right. Service was good, but slow. By the time we left, the crowd had dwindled and it was less noisy. The table next to ours came and went twice by the time we left.
I haven’t been to a Romano’s for some time. My brother and I arrived early so we sat at the bar and ordered a margarita flatbread. 30 minutes later when it hadn’t come, I asked where it was? The bartender checked and reported the Kitchen had burned it and were making another. Later we sat down at a table in the back. The server was prompt, took our orders, brought us our drinks and salads and that was the last we saw of him. When our food arrived, no one removed the salad or bread plates (we had to stack them ourselves to make room for the main course), no one offered us cheese nor were our water glasses refilled. By now the room behind was filled with a large noisy party making conversation all but impossible. The next time we saw our server was when he brought us our check. Although the food was good, the service was terrible.
It took almost 40 minutes to get our food and it was not busy. The waiter was nice and friendly, but the food was not as good as it used to be.
Fabulous family fun, Italian cuisine and quality staff! Load up the car and go there!! Ran and Jan.
I would not reccomend Frisco location, the girl at the front reception did not know our party was already there, we had to wait. The waiter was scattered among many tables, our food came out very late. The manager in the Burgundy shirt, told me there is no quiter place in the restaurant to sit with a table. I saw some quite places, but he said "no such thing ". Its a beautiful restaurant, nice food, but service stinks.
It was really nice.
Clearly they had a new cook. The meatballs were burned, the Fettuccine Alfredo was made with a very strange white sauce, and the ratatouille was almost all onions a few pieces of frozen zucchini and very spicy.
The service was good and the bread was good but we won’t go back anytime soon. :(
Dirty plates, noisy, food was boiling in plates when it was brought to us, soaking in grease- very poor experience. Will not go again. Ever.
Valentine’s Day. I had reservations. Extremely slow service, just drinks and bread took forever. Food came after an hour!!! And it was cold. The poor waiter was trying but there weren’t enough people working the tables or the kitchen apparently. It was extremely disappointing and I was embarrassed for having made the suggestion to go there for Valentine’s Day.
First time eating here. Food was ok but not good enough to return. No flavor at all. The service was very good and everyone seemed friendly.
We enjoyed the restaurant and the food was amazing. Our server Coleman was excellent and gave us the right amount of attention we needed to get through our meeting without feeling disturbed. Thanks for allowing us to take our time and not feel rush on a Friday night.
Everything was great except for the fact that a bug flew on our table/food.
Service and setting was great as always. Food was a step down from usual especially the pasta sauces.
The restaurant was overwhelmed on Christmas. They ran out of bread and the server didn't ofer parmesan cheese when the pasta was delivered.
We had reservation for a 6:30 dinner for Christmas....We were seated on time. After that the service was horrible.
1. A young man quickly bought us bread and oil...then he disappeared, it looks as if he start busing table.
2. It took another 20 minutes for we were approached by someone who looked as if he was a chef pulled from the kitchen.
3. He took out drink orders and dinner orders.
4. Another 15 minutes before we got the drinks.
5. From the time we were seated to when we received out meal after asking twice, it took an hours and 10 minutes for our food to arrive. My fettuccine noodle were not cooked well and my meal was Luke warm.
My daughters and I couldn't wait to leave and swore we would not eat there again. I heard so many customers complaining.
After leaving one Italian restaurant on Christmas Day because they ran out of food, Macaroni Grill was not only open but handling the crowd extremely well while delivering hot, fresh delicious food. Service was impeccable unlike the other unfortunate situation. Thanks for saving our Christmas dinner!
The need to use a paging system. They said they called our name but we never heard them where we were waiting. When my husband went to check on it, they had crossed off our name. They did sit us shortly after that.
Horrible. The worst experience we have ever had in a restaurant. Will never never never go back.
We have not been to Macaroni since the chain was sold. It was Christmas Eve and one of the only restaurants open. Our party of 8 had reservations for 5:30p. We checked in at 5:15p. We waited for an hour and a half to be seated. Our order for drinks was taken 30 minutes later and I ended up having to find table settings on my own. Known for their bread before the meal, our entire group was given one serving. As a result I had to go and track down more. Our wine order was never entered and I had to chase down the server to make sure that was taken care of. After 2.5 hours we finally were served with the exception of my meal. Now, the restaurant was overrun by walk-ins and an inefficient staffing level. The managers on duty were overwhelmed and never checked on us. I think at some point the managers should have done a better job with the service. The table next to us threatened to not pay their bill and demanded their dinner to be made immediately and to go. Just an unfortunate day for this restaurant. As a result, the food was not good enough for me to return. After talking to the manager at the end of the evening I offered a tempered critical assessment of service. I really do hope this was a learning experience.
I normally love this restaurant. Honthere often and enjoy. However, this Christmas, the restaurant was complete chaos. Overbooked, poorly managed, had to
demand service. My husband and I watched this restaurant turn into one of the worst restaurant experiences we have ever had. Will never go again on a big holiday! Normally, this restaurant is a pleasure. If a restaurant is not properly prepared to be open on a major holiday, like Christmas, it should be closed. What we experienced on Christmas was abysmal.
Service was very poor. It was very noisy and hostess phone continuously ringing. Way too many reservations allowed then tables not ready on time. Server was slow and did not seem to be able to keep up. Had to request refill for tea only filled one glass. One entree to table was lukewarm took 20 more minutes to get additional plate. Server must have been new?? Managers were not visibly helping servers or hostess.
Went for Christmas lunch, very happy.
Our experience was average; typical for this chain. Delicious bread and oil, nice server, average tasting food but wasn’t prepared to order and had to go back. They had a nice-priced $25.00 Christmas lunch menu, but then overcharged both of us. We had to wait while they worked out the pricing of the special. Rather than being pleasantly surprised by a well-planned Christmas meal, we left feeling a bit disappointed. But we greatly appreciate those working on Christmas!!! And despite working on this special holiday, all were cheerful and helpful.
Our dining experience was one I won’t forget for a while!
We made a reservation on Christmas Eve and arrived a few mins early- got seated quickly and our server was a little overwhelmed but we weren’t in a giant hurry so no biggie.
Order a couple adult drinks and the kiddies got their drink of choice - order an appetizer as well- everything came out wonderfully calamari was yum and drinks were good!
Ordered our meal and the service went to hell quick!
I don’t like to leave a bad review unless it was really and I mean really bad!!!!
We all ordered food and waited 20 mins or so - delighted when it came out until we saw it was all wrong!
My son had ordered fettuccine Alfredo and it came out as a bowl of noddles ONLY! Not a drop of Alfredo sauce - it’s a simple dish and you screwed it up!
My husbands dish was barely like warm ... my food had the wrong sauce and way way over cooked fish and it was cold too!! My 2 daughters meals never showed up- which I thought was odd- I asked the server and she said it was coming ...
So we have them a chance to redeem themselves 20 more minutes my 2 daughters meals still a no show! Our food comes out and my sons dish is right - piping hot and he said good. My husbands dish again barely warm - mine ice cold - not even warm- my 4 yr old picked up the dish and could hold it on the bottom! My daughters child pizza NEVER came! My other daughter’s pizza arrived and it was hot but burnt on the bottom- she still ate it because she was soooo hungry and shared with my youngest because she was starving!
My husband and myself sent ours back and asked them to send over a manager- 15 mins later he shows and looked frustrated that we were complaining and gave a half hearted apology, walked away.
We did not pay for the child pizza or the two adult cold dishes we ordered ... I would never recommend this chain -Ever!
Nice casual place- recommend reservations on holidays or busy times
I preface this by saying there aren't too many sit down, conservatively priced restaurants open on Christmas Eve. My party of 11 had a 615p reservation. We were sat at 715p. We finally got our drinks at 800p. Food arrived warm, not hot. And the waiter, who clearly was a pro, was drowning. Running his own food, etc. His other table which was next to us had a party of 15. Tables were in the farthest room away from the kitchen. Manager was nowhere in sight. The restaurant was clearly understaffed and poorly managed for the holiday. I'm planning to never go back.
Food and service were terrible. Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxccccxxxccccccccccccccccccccc
The food was very disappointing. Small portions, and lacked taste.
The service was very poor: coffee served to the table without sugar , no smaller forks for toddlers, booster seat not clean.
Food has gone down hill over the past three visits and last night will be our last visit. So sad as the food used to be good and service matched. Would not be surprised if this location has the same date as the location on NW Hwy.
My mom and I came in for a thanksgiving meal. Not only did nobody come to take our drink order for 15 minutes until we asked a hostess who our sever was, we barely saw him our entire meal. He gave us oil from a bottom of a bottle that was rancid, he forgot to bring our bread. Then finally brought it and took our orders 20 minutes later. Then we waited on our food for another 30 minutes that was finally brought to us by a bartender (the only one who apologized to us the entire night) and everything was completely cold and starting to congeal. We asked to speak to a manager who refused to come over our entire meal or offer any apology for our poor experience. It was an experience that not only ruined thanksgiving for us but also made us want to never dine at Macaroni Grill again.
Star reviews says all that needs to be said. Eat at your own risk
On arrival, we were told that the restuarant does not participate in Open Table, despite them finding our reservation on Open Table. The service was markedly slow despite the restaurant being nearly empty. Steak was overcooked, but I didn't have time to wait around to send it back. The soup was served as a nearly empty bowl that we had to keep re-ordering to make enough for a serving. We have had much better experiences at other locations.
Macaroni Grill is always one of my favorites; consistently good American-Italian food. Good portions. Our service and food have consistently been good at this location. It was really busy the night we went, and we waited about 10 minutes to be seated...which was great (it would have be 45 minutes without OpenTable). The staff (and cooks) were hopping, but still managed to do a great job. Again, I'm a fan of Macaroni Grill's menu and price range, and this location never disappoints.
We had a delicious meal! We were celebrating a birthday and the staff provided a complimentary dessert of her choice to the birthday girl, very nice!
I made a reservation for 7:15 and didn’t get seated until 10 min after that time. My group and I got seated and ordered our drinks and about 5 minutes later ordered our entree. We were waiting on the bread to come out when we realized we didn’t have any silverware to use. Our waiter wasn’t in sight so we had to ask another waiter for our things. This took about 10 min trying to find someone that wasn’t busy taking orders or ringing something up. The food made up for the service and I left the restaurant content with what I had. Overall, my experience was okay. From the other occasions I have been there the service was amazing, however A LOT of groups were there that night, for what looked like homecoming. I don’t suggest going when the place is super busy.
We made a reservation for 7:15 and was not seated until 8:00, this is horrible! We had a dance to go to and was very late! Sad
Very loud & energetic night- Homecoming. Service was okay. They were busy. Had a great entree salad. Forget the name but it had Kale & Arugula, dates, shaved Parmesan & a few Brussel sprouts. Very tasty! Son son had the Mac & cheese entree. He loved it. They have Italian sodas. Nice touch for kids.
