Romano's Macaroni Grill - Franconia
bolognese sauce, italian sausage, ricotta, mozzarella, imported pomodorina
Side of Soup
roasted chicken, sun-dried tomatoes, mushrooms, rigatoni, roasted-garlic cream sauce
Gluten and Dairy free options available. The bread is amazingly free of gluten and dairy. My new favorite casual Italian place.
Valentines date. We drove there for 40 minutes and when we got there he rudely told us to go because they are overbooked...
Didn’t even get to eat!! And I still don’t understand how reservations were backed up when I made mine in advance... very disappointed.. ended up having to order pizza for my Valentine’s Day dinner..
I made reservations on here. Got there and they wouldn’t accommodate us. Said that this website wasn’t affiliated with the restaurant. Gave us a long waiting time, but we didn’t stay. We went elsewhere
In general a pleasant experience. The person seating people though had an attitude. He said they don't do reservations even though we had made one online. It wasn't a problem but he just came off as very grumpy and unpleasant which is not a great way to start the dining experience.
Our server was young and inexperienced but she was really great.
The food was pretty good but it is not something I will remember or crave such that it causes me to go back again.
They need to work a little harder at washing their dishes and cutlery as it had water spots and streaks and in some cases had grease (we sent those plates back).
The waiter was attentive, however, the ambience and environment have been significantly impacted. I used to like this place, now I’d think twice before coming in.
Macaroni Grill is our new 'go to' place for special occasions, and it never disappoints!
Restaurant was empty but it took forever for the wait staff to take our order. When we finally received our order, my wife’s meal was cold. Definitely not worth the headache, time, or money.
Had trouble choosing dinner, so I ended up having lasagna bolognese; it was good! The server was good/attentive. The only other comment I have has to do with the menu; they may want to better diversify their menu selections.
We love coming to the Macaroni Grill for special occasions! They remember us!
Great food, table service was wonderful. Unfortunately, host met me with "we don't the reservations" I showed him Open Table reservation, and he said "We don't take OpenTable Table, I don't have any internet up here." Very odd. Otherwise a wonderful experience!
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal—from the soup, to the appetizer, to our entrees! It was wonderful especially since the Macaroni Grill near us closed permanently. So the extra drive was worth every mile. The service was great too!!!
Everything was clean good social distance for every table our server his name was Nate he was friendly and had an amazing personality food was great and it was serve fast!!!
Great food at great price combined with great service made it a wonderful experience.
Why aren't these type restaurants email blasting their customers that they have reopened fully. Friday nite at 8 we were the only customers and another party came in 30 minutes later. Our appetizer was overcooked and the entrees not up to their usual standard.
Horrible! Wow, this place has really gone down hill. Even though we had a reservation, we had to wait more than a half hour for our table because apparently the kitchen was running way behind. Then, we got sat in the way back of the restaurant, a section of it that was clearly used for storage and overflow of items. It was a mess. We were also sitting under large ceiling vents blowing COLD air (it was 36 degrees that nigth). The only redeeming part of it was our waiter, he was friendly and tried to defuse the situation a bit. DO NOT eat at this place - don't waste your time or $. Would recommend going elsewhere for sure!!
It is a very crowded place and if you reserve online or not it doesn't matter if there is a line... it is first come first serve.
A pizza place like Romano shall have a gluten free menu ...but they said they don't have one so you can't find what you want to find if you head there with some food allergies.
Honestly the whole experience was a total disaster. I set a reservation for 7:35 and was not seated until 8:05. The manager was not organized, and was terribly understaffed. When we were seated, there was not a server for our area so another server took over a whole 20 mins later. The manager refused to make up for the terrible service, and we decided to pay and leave when essentially we didn’t have to because our food did not get to us until 9:00. I will not be going back here for any occasion nor would I recommend this place to anyone!
food is overpriced. my date got cold potatoes and overcooked steak. my salmon was nothing special
Excellent food. However, was told we would need to wait 45 minutes to be seated, despite having a reservation (but it was valentine's day). Was also told that the lasagna bolognese did not have pork in it but found out half way through that it did.
Reservations service suck
We made a reservation through open table and still had to wait for 40 minutes for a table. After we were seated we didn’t have a server at our table to even greet us until we asked 20 minutes later. The food was not warm when we got it and our server barely checked on us. We had to ask another waiter for the check. Very poor service.
Food was okay. I miss the old Macaroni Grill ambiance.
The service was terrible. We had a reservation, but still had to wait 30 minutes past our reservation time to be seated. Once we were finally seated it took another 20 minutes for a waiter to even come by and introduce themself, let alone take a drink order. At one point I got and asked an employee if they could point me towards the restroom. She ignored me even though I was right in front of me, and then after asking a second time she sullenly said “I don’t know where it is” without even looking up or making eye contact. For an employee to claim not to know where the bathroom is, she’s either rude, or a moron. Neither is acceptable.
Normally I don’t set expectations for going to eat, but I figured on Valentine’s Day I should get a reservation if I was planning to go out and eat to avoid the last minute crowds. So, after setting an early reservation, I got there 5 minutes early and had to wait 35 minutes to be seated. Once seated there were visibly 9 tables open that could have been used to seat us and others. Once at the table I waited 15 minutes for someone to take my order, after I flagged someone down to ask. Once they brought the drinks I informed them that the table next to ours also had not been helped. Our server was slow, unresponsive and basically invisible after we placed our order. It was not a pleasant experience but at least the order was made well.
Feb. 14, 2020: The kitchen crashed. Food service came to a standstill. We had to wait over 30 minutes for food. It will be a long day before I return,
A wonderful neighborhood restaurant.
We made reservations to celebrate our Mom's 94th birthday. The initial greeting was good, but the server was very inattentive and took our drink order than cam back by and said it was lost and had to take it again. Our food order was brought in bunches with some of our party waiting while others were eating and in one instance the food was not made as ordered. Discussed with manager who gave us a discount, but it soured us on eating at this Macaroni Grill in the future - many many other choices available.
My 19th birthday
Getting a waiter took way too long, then we got to watch the waiter argue with a manager before coming to our table. Food was not good. We won't be back.
Started out badly when the hostess didn't even acknowledge our presence for a couple of minutes, as she was taking notes of something. She led us to a table that had soiled paper on it. When we asked for new table paper, she sighed, as we were having her do unexpected work. When she finally took the soiled paper off, it was clear no one had cleaned up any of the bread crumbs from the prior group. So we insisted on a different table.
Our waiter, Faisal, did the best he could. But it took 20 minutes to get our wine and an hour for our food. Keep in mind that this was a 5pm reservation on New Year's Eve. When we arrived, we were about the only customers. No excuse for why the kitchen was so slow.
Faisal did as best he could by telling us the kitchen was slow. But no one had taught him the basics, like to clear plates before bringing entrees. Not his fault. Just poor training.
We've been to this restaurant before. The food is usually good, but this was by far the worst service we've had. And we won't be back anytime soon.
Went here on New Year's Eve. We've gone here previously so were disappointed on this visit. Actually, the food was OK as we got their $25 special that included appetizer, main dish and dessert. The pain problem was the service. It seemed as if she'd rather be doing something else. We asked for butter to go with our bread, never came. We asked for utensils to have with our dessert, it never came (fortunately there was an extra serving that we were able to use). On the whole the service experience ruined what should have been a nice evening.
This restaurant should be closed. Horrible staff. Didn't wait for the food because the staff was so unprofessional.
Wanted to try something different and eat at a restaurant on Christmas Day. It took nearly 30 mins for someone to acknowledge us at the table. The busboy actually asked us if he could get us something to drink? Finally a server came to the table, never told us his name, took our order, it was all wrong. The kids food was wrong. The adults entrees came out before our salads. He told us another server took our salads to a different table. Only then, did he ask for salads to be re-made. We were already eating our dinner... we had to ask for refills. The restaurant was NOT crowded at all. It was unclear why the service was so bad.
My family had a wonderful experience at our Christmas dinner. Food was great as well as service.
Decided late in the day that we didn’t want to cook on Christmas Eve. We don’t normally make reservations for there, but knowing it was that late and close to Christmas, we used Open Table and were pleased to learn it was no problem to take our group of 6 to Macaroni Grill for dinner! The service was great, and the food delicious. Try the Mushroom Arancini!
Good food and love the Honor System Chianti.
The food was disappointing - the Alfredo was bland and the chicken Parmesan was gristly. Server was nice but erratic.
Enjoyed their Thanksgiving special dinner, although soup, sides and desserts were better than the turkey
