Romano's Macaroni Grill - North County Fair
I made a reservation through Open Table for Christmas Dinner. Open Table even confirmed the reservation the day before. We arrived to find the restaurant closed to in-person dining. Thanks for ruining Christmas Dinner. I've used Open Table enough to know that the restaurant is fully informed of reservations made. So why did no one call me to tell me of the closure? I could have made other arrangements had I just been notified.
No coffee availability. No Thanksgiving Dinner as stated. But we were given the menue for the special Thanksgiving Dinner. If it wasn't for the waiter, Audele, We would of left.
We were seated outside after a long wait and we had a reservation. It was busy for outside dining and they had not completed putting up a larger tent. Once we were seated our server was attentive and the food was served hot.
The restaurant was busy considering Covid. There were additional parties checking in for seating immediately after us. This puts strain on the only one server working. Mid way, the manager starting helping and sometimes a kit hen staff would bring out the entrees. The lobster bisk is very tasty, however wasn't hot, just warm we had excellent service as the server knew us as I am a regular and he knows our preferences. The Buffalo chicken parmesan is excellent and cheesey... better than original.
Our service was very friendly. We were seated immediately, however they did get backed up about 30 minutes after we arrived due to limited seating from the Pandemic. They do need to put another server on as service was slower and not as attentive as usual, with most available tables taken and a large party split between two tables (Covid restriction) . The manager was out helping the one server that was waiting on tables and making mixed drinks, as they were the two previous week we ate there.
Food was fresh and great. We are regulars and will be back next month.
A nice quiet Saturday dinner
The new Buffalo Parmasan is delicious. I enjoy it more than the standard, so I hope they keep it on the menu. It was a large Chicken breast also. The canolli are also the best I have had. Not too sweet, made with a sweet cream filling and garnished with chocolate chips.
Service was slower than usual with only one server and one on take outs. They looked like they got slammed and didn't expect it due to Covid. The manager came out towards the end of the rush to help out seating patrons and getting drinks. Made getting check slower than usual.
The food was excellent, including the dessert menu.
So glad this is open and that we could eat indoors. Great environment for date night or a night out with family or friends. I liked the unlimited soup or salad add on for $2.50. Good service, too!
first bread they brought in was stale
olive oil plate too small for 3 people
table they sat us by the side of the bar and service area was dirty, pile of dirty glasses, workers just standing around...create better ambiance necessary
food quality was not taht great from my previous expereinces
Ordered the chicken Alfredo and the chicken wasn’t cooked right!
Dinner was great. Jose took good care of us with friendly prompt service. Food was very tasty, especially their lobster bisque
Delicious food , nice ambience
The food was good, the service wasn’t great unfortunately. Took a while to get a bread basket and drinks. We didn’t receive cutlery, napkins or plates until the middle of our meal, and it took a while to get them.
The new Buffalo Chicken Parmasan is a welcome addition to the menu. Service this evening though very friendly was slow, as there was only one server and manager on duty. I think they were caught off guard on staffing due to the holiday and Covid. Had service been better, ie: refilling drinks, we would have had desert, but decided to forego. We will be back as there are certain dishes we like here and like that you can add in salad/soup for just 2.50 more.
Although we had to be seated outside because of COVID and it was a little warm, everything else was perfection. The salad, lobster bisque, Fettucini Alfredo with shrimp, and Butternut Tortellacci (without prosciutto) were excellent. Our servers were very attentive and very nice and accommodating. Great dining experience!
Considering the dreadful heat, it was a very pleasant outing.
Server was very good and didn’t rush us, probably because we were one of two parties enjoying lunch that day.
Suggestion: wipe the horrendous water markings off the knives. That was a huge turn off and made them all look dirty.
I love the lamb shank! Can't wait to go back again!
Food and service was great. Especially liked the new Buffalo chicken parmesan. Nice and cheesy. Very tasty. Bread was fresh.
The white paper on the table top was attached in an awkward manner with large binder clips. It would be nice if they could find a better way to secure paper which acts like a table cloth.
Waiter was horrible.
Wanted to move me and my 4 year old son to a small table for 2 that we would be sitting across from each other. Our original seating was a table for 4 but that’s what I liked about it because I could sit next to him not across from him while sitting in a parking lot with cars driving by.
Never gave us bread for table even though ordered soup and pasta dish. Never saw again to refill my water.
I can see why all the Macaroni Grills closed near me in Simi Valley/Northridge. Only consistency about restaurant is poor service which I blame management. Understaffed or untrained.
Was great outdoor dining and good food. Great to see places open in this time
Affordable, high end, delicious Italian cuisine. .
Great to be able to dine in again. Great service with Jose. Chicken Parmasan was fresh and delicious.
Was a very quiet night (4th of July). Service, food and atmosphere were all great.
Went in with a reservation. Waited 10 minutes to be acknowledged, then was told "the system" is down and I could not be accomodated. No food, no drinks, nothing. Left and went elsewhere.
Great service. Main dish was good. Ordered Bibb and Bleu salad. Was made with iceberg and romaine instead of Bibb lettuce and had to ask for bleu cheese as there was none visible when served.
We had a great meal with great service. I go to this restaurant all the time and really enjoy it. It is reasonably price with great service.
Soup was too salty, could not finish. Have enjoyed it in past. Cost with tip for 4 meals was about $100. No appetizer. No alcohol drinks or sodas. No meat dishes. Just pasta dishes. Just the additional soup or salad. Used to enjoy them, but no longer affordable for us...
Fast friendly service. Good Mahi-Mahi and gnochi.
The bar area was popular and energetic with the older crowd before the dinner hour.
Great food and service. Mahi-Mahi was fresh and cooked just right.
There were 10 people on our table and our server Kim was amazing! She got our mimosas flowing And we did get our food in a timely matter. One small groups was the pepperoni pizza for one of the guest was burnt on one side. But they did bring another pizza to him fairly quickly. Our food was delicious. Our guest had lobster ravioli, spaghetti meatballs, pepperoni pizza, chicken scallopini and another pasta dishes but I forgot wait they were.
Great place!
We were seated immediately. Service was quick and friendly. Food was fresh and drinks refills provided without asking. Nice experience.
The meal was excellent! It was quite crowded as we hit the dinner, so it was a bit noisy. Our server was great, she was very attentive without being disruptive to our meal. I always love eating here and have yet to be disappointed.
Excellent friendly service. Manager interacted with us as we are regulars. Mahi-Mahi and salad were fresh and tasty. Enjoy their bogos.
It was very noisy . Food was mediocre at best. Will not return
We received a friendly greeting and seated immediately, as it was a late lunch/early dinner. Service was very attentive and the Mahi mahi was very fresh and perfectly cooked. Bread was also fresh, not over cooked or stale. Everything lined up on this visit in addition to coming in on a BOGO coupon.
Server was a little scatter brained. The server brought us a bill, but when she brought the receipt back with the credit card slip, the bill went up by cost of iced teas, that she forget to charge, but didn't mention it to us. She also forget that she had already brought us a take home box. Chicken Parm on BOGO was very good and tasty.
Great food. Friendly service.
The food wasn't that great-I could cook better at home.
