Romano's Macaroni Grill - Elk Grove

Eating with friends and family are perfect for this kind of menu. Very recommendable for anyone especially people love pastas
Food was ok. Nothing special. Definitely priced high for the taste of the food. Server was somewhat attentive. We had to ask for things (refills, utensils, etc.). He was friendly though. The ambiance is pretty, but the booth seats were oily/sticky. Definitely not a local favorite of mine when compared with all the value/better-tasting restaurants in Elk Grove.
We hadn't been to Romano's in over 6 years. For a busy Labor Day weekend it was crowded and service was a bit slow but that was expected. All the food and appetizers were great, no complaints at all. Loved the Crispy Brussel Sprouts. Will definitely be going again soon to try other menu items.
We were seated very quickly, and the wait staff greeted us right away. There was a special going on, take $10 off your dinner over $30. The two meals we purchased, including the soup and salad and a glass of wine ended up costing less than $30 after the discount. My chicken scaloppini was really good along with the angel hair pasta with olive oil, artichoke hearts and all sorts of great flavors. My husband wasn't quites as thrilled with his chicken parmesan, after he tasted mine. Lobster bisque soup was very tasty, but just warm, not hot.
I don't know why people don't make reservations to go there. I felt kinda bad as we whizzed by everyone else waiting to be seated. Oh well! It was a great, reasonably priced meal. I will always go back!
We walked right and were seated. Our waiter was aggressive loud and had no professional training. Another server came to our table and asked if we had been waited on and we asked him to please take our table. He could not so we were stuck the the mess. Dinner took 1 hour 45 minuets and for 17.00 you get a piece of lasagna . not even garnish, It was very loud, and the entire experience was bad. The server did give us complimentary dessert, again took for ever. The food was mediocre everything from a freezer.
I usually get the lasagna here, which is excellent, but was the mood for steak so I ordered the Porterhouse. Big mistake. I ordered it medium and parts of it were raw. The filet side was almost non-existent and the New York side was tough in places. Next time I’ll stick to pasta.
My wife, myself and our 5 month old day went out for a much needed relaxing dinner, and we we got exactly that, got our requested booth and was very quiet for our daughter for her to sleep awhile while we enjoyed dinner.
Tasty dishes even though the menu is not very diverse. 3-4 plates in each category. Several ordered dishes were absent. Good customer service.
Made my son’s birthday memorable with his friends and his friends’ parents.
Good food and great service. Hadn’t been there for a while but will go back sooner next time.
We don't get to Romano's Macaroni Grill allot, but we always Love it!! Service is So Nice and Fun!
The prices are a little spending but delicious and wonderful environment!!
Thank you :-)
This was our first somewhat negative experience at a Macaroni Grill. It was quite a wait before our waitress took our order. It was quite awhile between salad and entrees. We were lacking 1 of our 8 entrees. The waitress didnt notice until we brought it to her attention. Then she looked up her orders she'd written down, and said it was her fault, not the kitchen's, and that there wouldn't be a charge for the missing entree. We had already been waiting awhile, so our food was getting cold. It was awkward for the person with the missing entree. A couple of us shared our food with her, but of course, she wanted room for her own. This is 1 of 3 locations where we have eaten. Also, my scampi was much saltier than I remember it being. I ate very little of it. A couple others mentioned the food not being up to par. Maybe a different recipe or chef??
Evrything we love to try different menu, and everything was great and delicious and we always recommend to our family and friend to try the food and always good comment when they called me about the perfection of what they eat.. waiter/ waitress are very nice..
Restaurant wasn't super busy, but our poor waitress seemed to be helping every table. Food took super long to come out and was mediocre. Went for the ribeye steak special, my husband said it wasn't particularly good. My chicken dish was pretty good. I would still go back. They have their ups and downs, but overall we've had nice dinners there and the price is reasonable, depending on what you order.
On Sunday , they were out of the soup of the day, Out of the best desert.
Brought the main course when we just got started on the salad.
We were pleasantly surprised that we got really good service. It was a team effort and we got everything taken care of from Refills to extra soups and salads. The only thing is the lobster Ravioli was lacking Raviolis. It came with only 4 and it was good just the portion size could be more.
Good food and service was ok.
Ended up sitting in the bar because there was room. The bartender was amazing and did an awesome job!
Disappointed for the first time at Macaroni Grill - this was out “go to” place but not sure after tonight. Three ordered items were out, bottomless soup was so bad, couldn’t finish first serving. Might have been unexpected business for Father’s Day but still - no polenta, one inedible soup?
It was Father’s Day and it was crazy. They were having an off night. Usually everything is way better.
Made reservations for the Mother's Day Brunch at noon. Arrived at 12:00pm and waited roughly 30 minutes before my family of seven was seated. Waitress greeted us at the table and said they were no longer offering the Mother's Day Brunch menu, although it was 12:30pm and the Brunch ended at 4:00pm! We specifically came for the food in the Brunch menu. We asked for the manager who was unsympathetic and offered no explanations or concessions. She said sorry and walked away. Totally unacceptable of a national chain restaurant to run out of speciality food during Mother's Day of all days! To say the least the meal was ruined as we had to order dinner food at lunchtime. When we got the bill, there was no discount! So much for customer service! First time and last time at the Elk Grove location. Wish I could leave NO stars!
They were so completely overwhelmed for Mother's Day it was a very poor reflection on the restaurant. They ran out of brunch food and only offered lunch at 11:30! Then we waited over an hour for our meals. Yes they apologized, yes our server was very kind, yes they took a large portion off our tab. They did all the things right to react to a very bad situation. It's too bad they didn't do better to avoid the issues in the first place.
Typically this is a great restaurant to go to. However Mother’s Day was chaos. They tried to pull off brunch which is not their usual menu. Our meal took over an hour to come out and it was not good. I gave it 2 stars for this day- typically I would give it an excellent review.
Love all the stone thru out the restaurant, the food is very good and our service was excellent
Food quality has diminished
The reason for the low score is because my lobster ravioli was served cold on my mothers birthday.
DINED FOR EASTER SUNDAY, GREAT BREAKFAST AND NOT BUFFET STYLE.
NICE SIT DOWN AND WAIT STAFF SERVICE. JEFF WAS OUR WAITER PROVIDING
EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE. APPRECIATED THE MANAGER STOPPING BY AS
HAVE DINED HERE BEFORE, WOULD LIKE ROMANOS TO OFFER A MINESTRONE
SOUP HOWEVER, FOR LUNCH AND/OR DINNER. LOVE THE BREAD
My wife had the egg plant parmesan and I have angle hair with mushrooms and chicken.
we enjoyed glass of wine. very relaxing
Had fun and good food. Hannah our server was outstanding
Our food came out before our appetizer and salads. My coworkers was cold, my others had no spice at all, mine was doughy and my sausage was cold. We went out for a coworkers going away party. Completely miserable. Definitely will not return
Our food took forever to arrive and came out at separate times.
Excellent service from the bar to being seated, waitress was very friendly and provided great service.
It is a very excellent place for a family to get together for some good Italian food.
Service and food was ok, but the restaurant was uncomfortably cold. Had to wear jacket. Not a very pleasant or cozy experience. It was cold outside, but I assume they can heat the place.
Even know I made the reservation when we arrived they had no record and because it was for a special party of 12 it was disappointing that we had to wait.
I was extremely disappointed. Although you accommodated my change in numbers, it allowed your staff to accommodate a larger party that arrived with no reservation. It took them approximately 15 minutes to seat us with the change. However from the time we seated, the waitress was lacking. It took about 15 minutes for our drinks to arrive after placing our order. Rarely saw her and had to keep reminding her to bring her items requested. She checked in twice and it seemed like we were an inconvenience or please don’t ask for anything. This place was extremely loud. My food arrived warm from the kitchen. I truly believe if its coming from the kitchen it should arrive hot. I ordered a steak and no steak knife was provided and she left so fast there was no way to ask for one. So i managed with the knife i had. The kids food arrived after the adult, that is a definite no, no. The last adults food was extremely late although the manager and waitress kept coming over to apologize.
Food was just not that good. Salad did not have much dressing. Marsala was bland and not flavorful. It took us awhile to get our salads. About 1 minute later, the main courses arrived. While the server said that she would tell them to re-cook the meal, the food tasted like it had been under the food lamp.
Our server was amazing. But we overheard the manager saying to a young girl to clear our table fast, like they were trying to get us in and out as soon as possible. Not fun for a date night.
We made a reservation and arrived 8 minutes earlier from our set time. We ended up stil waiting for over 30 minutes because the host apparently sat a couple in a booth that was supposed to be assigned to us. Food was good and atmosphere was okay to celebrate my dad's birthday.
