Romano's Macaroni Grill - Cerritos
roasted chicken, sun-dried tomatoes, mushrooms, rigatoni, roasted-garlic cream sauce
vine-ripened tomatoes, imported buffalo mozzarella, basil, balsamic glaze
Buffalo Chicken Parmesan
breaded milanese-style chicken breast, mozzarella, buffalo sauce, calabrian pepper, celery, gorgonzola cream capellini
started off great but service declined as the meal progressed, love this place, travelled an hour each way just to go, not sure if its worth the trip anymore, sad this chain has dwindled to so few locations
We came here to celebrate my mom’s 80th birthday. Not a lot of people were in the restaurant. We were sat quickly which was nice, and our server was personable and nice. I ordered the Spaghetti & Meatballs dinner with bolognese sauce (not the build your own). It had a flavor that I could barely tolerate—asked the server, and she checked with the chef, and there was GOAT CHEESE in it! Goat cheese is one flavor that I can’t take! The thing is…I think the menu should indicate goat cheese, and I would have chosen something else. Not everyone can eat goat products!! And since I’m mentioning negative things…all of our Caesar salads had slightly wilted lettuce—not crispy fresh lettuce. And mix up in our meals as a couple people in our party got the “build their own” pastas—broccolini ended up in my mom’s pasta, and her mushrooms ended up in my friend’s pasta and he can’t stand mushrooms. We were all surprised by all of this as this Macaroni Grill location used to be well run.
Went for a birthday celebration dinner. Had horrible service. It was freezing in the restaurant. The food was okay, but the service was slow and non inviting. At the end of our meal she immediately brought out the check (we were all planning on ordering dessert). She didn’t acknowledge the birthday and didn’t ask if we wanted to order dessert. We just paid and had better dessert somewhere else. We used to love Macaroni Grill, it has since gone downhill.
Shrimp Portofino, Lasagna & Chicken Scallopine rocked! House bread was not good....stale & dry. Host & server were great!
Mushrooms were gross. Cold and still raw. We sent it back the first time because they were cold and the second time they were a little warm but does it hurt them to leave in oven longer.
The service was good but the food quality was not to good. The items that were not good were the complementary bread and oils were not pleasing with taste, the side spinach and spinach artichoke dip was so bland, and my chicken parm from my Treo was burnt. The service was good though. The cost was much higher I felt. I don’t know if we will e back.
Had a wonderful time! Ville was excellent. My mom is looking forward to going back for her half birthday 🥳
Half of my steak was chewy and lacked oreganata vinaigrette sauce (not in stock?)
nice and quiet on weekdays; happy hour looks very tempting
The food was fresh and delicious but that was not the highlight of this restaurant. Our waitress was a delight. You could tell that she was working extremely hard, I think they were under staffed, but she was still so personable and attentive. Her cheerful and upbeat attitude made the evening that much more enjoyable. Her name was Viviana.
Great for families
Thus our calamari was tough and rubbery, overcooked.
Other than that all was delish !
I made a reservation and we arrived after church to find an empty restaurant. We checked the menu and ordered and then nothing happened for 25 minutes!!!!! I ordered the chicken caprese and when it arrived I could hardly cut it with a knife. It was terrible, along with a hunk of cheese and 2 slices of unripe tomato!!!! This was an hour and a half used up time and I am so disappointed in this restaurant!!!!
Not the best dinning experience. The young lady that was the server had to many tables. We didn’t get checked on and although you could see more bus buys than waiters none was coming by to remove dishes from items consumed. The mango tea lacked flavor and sugar.
It was my wife's birthday so I made reservations for 6:45. I called to see if we could come earlier and they said by 6:30 the earliest ( my wife was hungry)
Got there at 6:25 and they didn't seat us until 6:55 and they forgot about the cake I had dropped earlier as a surprise.
Our server was very nice, personable and helpful with the menu. We asked her to take a picture of our family group and she was nice enough to accommodate us.
She first came to the table, I stated that we needed silverware and she said she'd get those for us. So when she dropped off our food without the silverware and left, I located the silverware on the floor and simply got it myself.
She neglected to bring the parmigiano cheese for the bolognese sauce on my spaghetti. I didn't see her on the floor, so I just decided to enjoy my dinner with my family.
Your restaurant did have only 3 star rating but we decided to take a chance on it. The excellent one we'd been to a while back where we celebrated a birthday party was in La Habra. That's the one we wanted to go to, instead, but the Internet stated it was closed down? Too bad. Cerritos is far from our home in Montebello so I don't think we'll be returning.
The waitress did not offer cheese on your pasta once you received your plate and also, no pepper was offered on salad. She would just leave your plate and walk away quickly. When we visited Macaroni Grill on past occasions, there was much better service.
They claim to have lobster bisque...not even close! It was Tomato soup, plain and simple, being passed off as lobster bisque. We sent it back, thinking they made a mistake by giving us the other soup on the menu,, tomato basil. Nope! Same thing came back, no lobster taste, no lobster meat, just tomato flavor. Such a disappointment.
Exelent food Service and ambience highly recommended !!
The food was horrible. The service was horrible because the waiter was being over worked. They had him doing to much.
The caesar salad was drowning in dressing and was not editable. The fettucine was bland. The service was great and so was the bread but the food not so much.
Our server was courteous and attentive. Everything we ordered was fabulous including the wine. I never ordered the Shrimp Portafino before and it was excellent. My husband had the spaghetti with bolognese and couldn’t stop raving about it. We will definitely be back.
We were seated immediately, servers were friendly. BUT...our server could NOT answer one question about the menu, he actually brought another server to the table to help us. He took our drink orders and said he would check to see if "we have that" when I ordered a choc martini. ?? Another gal in our group ordered a rum drink, he returned saying no choc martini. waited for other drinks, but when we asked about 10 min later (cuz he never came back) he said "oh yeah, we don't have that" We asked another menu question and if there were happy hour specials, told us NO (i mean, really 3pm and no happy hour??) ...just the limited menu, not very impressive ..we decided to leave. Was very disappointing. Went across the street to Wood Grill, got every drink we wanted and had a great lunch. Much better menu selection as well. Hopefully it was just a bad day.
We were given dirty bread plates. When we asked for new ones, we were given dirty ones again.
I love this place, the staff is great . I always have a great experience
Great customer service, food average
Celebrating a job promotion. They had no real bartender, every drink I asked for they couldn’t make it. I settled for a Peach Sangria, at least it was good. No pizza’s on the menu among other items. Our DD person ordered tea, they never brought it - only water. She also ordered a garden salad with ranch, they brought her a Mediterranean salad. My other sisters fork was dirty with food on it. And no key lime pie on the menu anymore either lol. And what’s the point of asking what the occasion is, when they don’t acknowledge it and dont even make an effort to provide a good experience ?
The food was not good at all. The soup tasted like pasta sauce. They got one of the orders wrong the steak was very rare. My son asked for a steak to be medium well. It was not worth what I paid. I could’ve went to Olive Garden and got better food and spent less money.
We have enjoyed this restaurant for years, but lately, it has really gone downhill. Fewer options, smaller portions, less staff. As many of the restaurants have closed it always seems like some of the locations are on their last leg
Server was inattentive, dismissive and emotional.
Wow!!! My husband and I came to Macaroni Grill to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. You would think that Macaroni Grill could have at least sprung for a peace of cake. Nope! Pretty cheap Macaroni Grill! We won’t be back for a very very long time.
The staff was friendly with food and drinks delivered at the correct pace. The meal was hot and fresh and presented nicely. I’ll be back.
Excellent service and food was amazing! We will be back!
Noise/music level too loud
Otherwise, everything else was great!
First off, we had a great, great waiter.
He had to be, as it turned out... (Read on.)
Second, we felt safe --- all employees were masked and the place was at 25% capacity...with plenty of room between tables, although I did see 2 occupied tables fairly close together, so that was puzzling --- they didn't seem to be together, but they must have been.
The noise level and cleanliness were very good.... To be expected at 25% capacity.
Our waiter (Jame) was friendly and helpful. He promptly brought over our water and wine, bread, and a Pepsi, Friendly conversation throughout..
Then something happened in the kitchen. Twice.
First, our appetizer order (stuffed mushrooms) got delayed when they came out of the kitchen looking sad and unappetizing so they redid them.
Then someone screwed up the order... they didn't get around to fixing ours for a good 3/4 hour, and when it arrived my pasta was kind of sad...not cold, but a little on the mushy side. In the end they took dollars off the bill, and provided a free Tiramisu but I would have preferred paying for faster and better prepared....We gave James a good tip because he deserved it, keeping us entertained and apolgizing and explaining about the delay on our food.
Which, looking at other reviews, seems to be a common problem here.
We've been to Macaroni Grills before but this was our first visit to the one in Cerritos. All our usual locations, like the one in Simi Valley, have closed. Except for the waiter and hostess, this first experience at the Cerritos location were not stellar. Still we'll make allowances for Covid since there is probably a smaller staff in the kitchen.
We'll give them another try. We have $100 in gift cards to use up!
Food was good except the grilled Brussel sprouts OVER GRILLED, tasted BURNT. Childs Grilled chicken was dry, could not even cut it with a steak knife.
They seemed to be short staffed. Practicing social distancing was extending our wait time to be seated. Food was ok. The service was good but they seemed overwhelmed. Probably could’ve used another pair of hands
Food was hugely overpriced, in my opinion. $145.00 for 3 people who ordered pasta & salad seemed high. Probably wouldn’t go back given the large selection of Italian food options there are.
I’ve seen cleaner bathrooms in the movie “Trainspotting” and most bars in TJ. YUK!!!!!!
Food was good, service was good, value not so much.
We came here for my birthday and had a pleasant experience. Our server had a trainee and they were both great and very attentive. Would definitely come back!
Food was delicious, staff were great, ambiance cozy!
Foods always tasty and the staff always welcoming.
