Very disappointed in how Macaroni Grill gas declined. Took about 15 min minutes to get utensils after appetizers arrived and plastic to go utensils were provided since no utensils were available (business was slow too). Main entree was undercooked and portions were very small. Also overcharged for salad that was included with entree. I hope they turn around and correct these issues.
Had a productive gathering!
While I love Romano's Macaroni Grill it seems this location struggles.
My husband and I arrived for a late lunch/early dinner. I ordered the create-your-own pasta and he ordered a pasta entree with a side of meatballs. We both added a caesar salad to start.
Our server looked busy, although there were only about four parties sat in the entire restaurant at that time. Then we realized why...as she brings our water, soda and bread about 10 minutes later we (and she) realized that the salads weren't being made.
Due to the open concept kitchen area, in front of which we were sitting, we watched her sit in front of what we assumed was the salad station waiting. Almost done with our loaf of bread and still no salad, she went back, put on gloves and made our salads.
So when they were brought to us, and she did apologize, our meals came out almost right after. She asked us if we wanted another helping of unlimited salad though, at that point with hot meals in front of us, even though we might've enjoyed that earlier it didn't make sense then.
Our meals came and, while I requested pine nuts added to mine, it had none. While my husband requested a side of meatballs we waited patiently, thinking she only had two hands and would bring that out next, but they didn't come. So while she was chatting with her backs to us with another waitress, we pardoned ourselves and called across to inquire about our meatballs. She starts talking to one of the cooks who, in Spanish, admits he forgot them.
So the meatballs come halfway through my husband having finished his pasta.
We actually felt badly for the wait staff. It seems there was no manager on duty and the stations were unmanned so she really did the best she could on her own.
We will give it another shot simply because we love this chain and their food offerings but a regional manager needs a second look at how this restaurant is being run. This is the second time we've come and found the experience lacking.
Went fo. friend’s bday. Told Open Table. Told receptionist. Told server. All responded. Four other tables also having bdays (restaurant was almost empty). Three of four recvd dessert w sing and candle. We recvd free dessert acknowledged as such by server and NO CELEBRATION Otherwise. Server was not very attentive but at least one other table of hers had bday things. Other server was very responsive to his tables.
I was very disappointed for my friend. I went there though it’s a bit more expensive than other Italian restaurants because they always do nice celebrations. Couldn’t believe almost empty. Sent word of complaint to cooperate but have only recvd emails everyday w discount coupons. No acknowledgement of concern.
We arrived to a nearly empty restaurant on a Friday night. The floor was so sticky our shoes were nearly adhered to the ground with every step. Even though there were hardly any diners, the service was absolutely atrocious. Not only did I have to ask for water EVERY TIME my glass was empty, but the server and other employees (including the manager) left dirty dishes on the table long after we were finished eating, to the point where I had to flag someone down to get them removed. We will not be back.
The food didn’t taste good
The food and our server, Frank, were great!
Our only issue was the seating hostess. My reservation specifically asked for a table at the front due to my disability. She sat the first arriving guests at the booth all the way in the back! When I got there, I asked to change to one of the many available tables in the front. She reluctantly moved us to the front booth but didn't speak and had a scowl on her face. However, before she moved us, she left me stuck standing there with my cane and disabled legs while she sat 2 other tables first before she would finally speak to us.
Rediscover a wonderful restaurant in mall of Ga area. With new restaurants opening, this is uncrowded gem! Everything was prepared excellent.
Food was so so. I originally ordered chicken parmesan. I was not happy with it when it arrived. It was extra big and the edges were extra hard like a big flat piece of breaded chicken that was cook too long. Chicken parmesan should not be crunchy. I had that returned and requested the penny pasta and sausage. That was pretty tasty. The server only filled up my cup when he initially set it down and left it empty the rest of the time. I didn't even have a glass of water until I asked. The manager is nice, she's an African American older woman. She's very helpful
Traffic was terrible on I-85 that evening. Our patient staff kept us in beverages and waited patiently for everyone in our party of 9 to arrive. We had good food and a great time.
Worst Food and service I ever had at this place has gone way down.
The food and service were great. This location is the best one we have ever been to.
They sneak in s 2.50 per entree salad fee. This would be ok if they asked if we would like to add a salad to our order. However we where simply asked what salads we wanted with our entrees. Due to this shady business practice I will never eat at a Romanos again... I feel ripped off... food was gloriously mediocre... no parmesan cheese was offered, the bread dip was pepper and a really awful olive oil... the chicken ordered was dry and I felt salty... I will not eat at a Romano's ever again. Ripped off by the server, over charged due to shady business practice and served sub standard food for a exorbitant price. No thanks.
We arrived at 1:15 for a 1:45 reservation. I checked in at the podium and they acknowledge that they had it. In spit of that we were forgotten and our name crossed out without us being seated. When we were finally seated (I spoke up and asked) the mother's Day menu was not offered. no server was assigned to us until my daughter asked about 20 minutes after we were seated. the grilled chicken of the Pollo Caprese was dry and tasteless.
On the positive side our server was great and the pizza one or our party ordered was wonderful.
It was a combination Mother's day & birthday brunch for my wife, mom, son & his girlfriend. Our waiter was very inattentive with bread and drink refills. It took over an hour to get our food and all I ordered the cinnamon apple french toast. They were not crowded. The food was "warm" enough. We complained to the manager and she took 25% off. Being a celebratory brunch, the overall experience was very disappointing. We didn't enjoy ourselves at all. By the time the food arrived we just wanted to eat and leave ASAP. Had it not been Mother's day we would have walked out but we had reservations and going elsewhere would have prolonged an already ruined brunch.
My wife and I went here for date night. It's definitely not the place for that. Better place to bring a rowdy bunch of teenagers. The food was so-so. You can watch the cooks make it. Similar style of cooking to what they have a the Waffle House. Line cooks making fast eats. Wait staff are young and inexperienced--first job type of place. Our waitress was way behind, but fortunately the manager brought our order. Had to ask for silverware and bread. The bread had an olive oil dipping sauce which used oregano rather than basil and was very bitter. Couldn't eat it. Won't go there again.
Food was good. Waiter was excellent and they were very accommodating on a busy night
This is one of our favorite restaurants. However, this experience was not very good. There were 6 of us on the reservation, and it took us almost 2 hours to eat because of how slow the kitchen was. Our server was professional and polite, but when the food did finally come my entree was cold and I had to send it back to be reheated. That took an additional 15 minutes.
We were a party of 6 and was not disappointed. Service was great!
This review is for the brunch. I feel the amount of food on the plate was not worth the price. So I give their brunch 3 stars. Also, very few tables were filled and we waited longer than I’d like for our food.
The food was subpar as was the service. I left my sweater for about 15 minutes and it mysteriously disappeared.
Bad. We arrived with a reservation. We sat down and no one come to take our drink order or check on us. We finally flagged down a waitress. Someone came by maybe 10 minutes later. We had a party of 4, 2 adults and 2 kids. When we finally ordered, the first child’s spaghetti came out about 30 minutes later. Other dinners came out one at a time at about 15 minute intervals. The final entree, served over an hour after the first entree had arrived, was the wrong order. Most of the food was decent, but a family should have their dinner arrive at the same time. It took 2 1/2 hours to eat on a Saturday night and they were not crowded (that should have been a red flag). This restaurant used to be a very good place for casual Italian. I would not be surprised to see it closing soon.
It was rather noisy and crowded at the time. The service was alright, not the best. They forgot our table quite often. Though I enjoyed the food very much, it was delicious!
8 people waited 30 minutes to be seated after making the reservation online Why to make an reservation than?
The food was good, but overpriced. We went on a Saturday and discovered that there was no lunch menu, which was disappointing. The service was okay, however, we waited 30 minutes to receive our check. Olive Garden would've been comparable in quality, but much less expensive.
Great service and food for a fair price.
I had scheduled a reservation for 08:00 PM and arrived 15 minutes early. After being told they were clearing a table and we would be seated shortly we waited 20 minutes after said reservation without so much as a word. After realizing we were not having any luck my partner and I left. I would’ve understood the wait time if we hadn’t once previously already tried this same restaurant with a walk in ,but waited a total of 1 hour and 30 minutes without so much as a word as well. While members who arrived after us (without a reservation as well) and of equivalent party sizes were seated way before us. In my attempt to talk to the hostess about the situation to get an understanding she was never there. Also, after waiting so long the hostess was switched out and the replacement treated us as if we had just arrived and paid us no mind. I understand that this is typically busy restaurant, but the fact that they could not respect a reservation and I even had the courtesy to check in early, I found it to be very disrespectful. Especially since the hosted mislead us by saying it would only take a couple minutes to get us seated ,yet we waited past the appointment and after were given no word about being seated/served.
Valentine's day service was great. Our waitress was ourstanding and the food was great. Were very busy but was surprised by service and speed. Will be back again.
While the service we received from our waitstaff was impeccable, the food itself left much to be desired. We chose the calamari for an appetizer and it was decent, but nothing to rave about. My wife chose a simple fettuccine with Alfredo for her main and I chose a steak with mushroom risotto. My steak was the correct temp but cooked far to fast and was dry and very tough, but rather than send it back I just dealt with it and ate it. The desert here was the star of the show. My wife and I split the Tiramisu and it was perfect. So good, that I would certainly drop in here for drinks and an order of Tiramisu. The food however, was merely a few steps beyond what you'd find at your neighborhood Olive Garden.
The meal was delicious, our server was lovely. The whole staff was very kind and hospitable. My boyfriend and I had a great Valentine's Day dinner. Thank you <3
I ordered a to-go order before dinner and changed the order. Sitting near the kitchen, the conversation between the chef and server was not pleasant and made me feel horrible. I felt the food was ok. Wished for more variety. And why pay extra for a salad?
The service was particularly slow and the food was not good. The calamari was too fishy. The rest of the food was like bad diner food. The waiter was clueless about the needs of the table and was busy socializing with a buddy near the kitchen listening to headphones.
Great place for a date night! If you want a quiet evening request to be seated away from the kitchen area.
I loved Macaroni Grill of 2000...the chain has changed and unfortunately the quality has changed. The service team did what they could to accommodate the groups from 2 people to 12 people but the overall experience was average.
Tonight 1/10/2019 My family and I came to celebrate a great day for my mother. Sat down at 6pm and food did not come out until 6:45pm. There were a total of 2 other tables when we sat down. We order basic pasta dishes. I tried the tomato basil soup and it came out lukewarm and no flavor. My moms Caesar salad was mostly white lettuce and not appealing at all. We had the manager come over to address our complaints only to get a very lackluster response that her cook staff had not shown up. I do understand that it something that might have been out of her control but maybe you should have had the severs tell guests the wait would be a little longer than usual. Our bill was heavily discounted but honestly, we should’ve left when we noticed the manager had to try and prepare food in the kitchen. I will not be returning to this location or chain.
They had no regard for my reservation. It was NY Eave but I took the time to make a reservation to prevent issues, The restaurant was 75% empty tables when we got there that had not been cleared. No reason to wait.
Absolutely horrible, mismanaged restaurant. Completely understaffed. Reservation for 7. Arrived early and sat at bar after checking in. Reminded hostess at 715 we were still waiting. Poor bartender was alone tending to bar, bussing tables, picking up food and dropping off orders. One five wait staff present for New Year’s Eve. We overtipped waiter because we felt sorry for him. People standing around everywhere with so many tables open but nobody to wait on them. Our table was surrounded with tables covered in leftovers and so gross to look at. Counted 7 of them around us.
Server never refilled my Diet Coke. Food is okay but not worth the price. At that price level side salads should be included.
Great food and atmosphere, it was on Christmas Day so expected some delays , not bad , was worth the wait , very clean place and service was attentive, hope to be in the near future.
So pleased they were open on Christmas day - a very nice meal. Excellent fast service and quick and tasty food.
