Typically a solid performer and a better alternative for chain Mediterranean fare. Odd to not have anchovies available, (for Caesar salad or puttanesca), but their staples are usually pretty reliable and tasty. The rosemary bread and olive oil dip is always a treat. However, the side pastas were a bit overdone, and our service was interminably slow. Dinner for 4 took 2 and a half hours and we ordered strictly from menu. Coffee was also cold, and their habit of not clearing the table as the meal progresses is annoying.
The lamb shank, which I ordered for the Forst time was horrible. The taste of the lamb was overcome by the sauce. Try just plain old lamb chops.
Good food, great service.
Although I was a guest that evening, I have been there many times in the past. The food was delicious. The service was less than attentive especially since it was not crowded, and the "ambience" you might be trying to create is destroyed by the NOISE ! No less than three times, something glass was dropped and shattered in the kitchen area; the cooks yelled at each other - and not necessarily in a nice way; and, the noise of a kitchen in general is not what I want when I go to a restaurant. There are other restaurants that also have designed open kitchens and think the customer should participate in all of the goings on that put the food together -- but not me. I eat in a restaurant to get out of the kitchen !!
Everything was spectacular. The calamari is heavenly with the 2 sauces presented. Service was great and efficient. A new favorite.
The service was absolutely horrible attitudes from the time you got in the door till the time you left. Took my mother-in-law for Mother's Day and had reservation did not get sat for 30 minutes after reservation time and upon sitting did not even get drinks ordered for another 30 minutes drinks took forever to come out from the bar we ordered our food and still waited an hour and a half longer to get any form of service myself and my mother-in-law ended up leaving and going to another restaurant. Absolutely horrible service will not come back
Everything was great except the online reservation was not honored
Took 2 hrs to get food, everything tasted like it was made with too much salt, server seemed lost and clueless, stuffed mushroom appetizers took 1.5 hours to get to the table.
I made a reservation on Open table; however when I arrived my reservation was not honored.
Horrible experience. Had reservations, waited 40 minutes for them to say we should just sit at bar table. Then the manager tells us there would be at least an hour and a half wait for food.
Macaroni Grill was almost empty when I arrived. They sat us immediately and the waiter came to service us. He made a mess at the table with the oil and crushed pepper. He took our drink order and told us that he would bring the bread. Drinks were received and the bread was nowhere. We ordered our food. It came in and it looked extremely heavy. The lobster ravioli has too much lemon on top. Then eggplant parmigiana was good if it had no sauce. The sauce made the parmigiana go soggy. The bread arrived after we were eating our entree as I reminded the service person that it was pending.
The food quality was not the best, service can be improved and the value of the meal seemed high.
No more Macaroni for me.
The chicken Marsala was very good.
My only complaint is could have a more reasonable priced house wine especially for a 5oz glass. For the price of $7+ they could offer a 6 or 7oz pour.
This is a turnoff especially if you want a second glass.
The food was just good but our waitress did everything to make my girls feel comfortable and welcomed.
Sat us at a table that was the walkway to the rest rooms so we had to move. I think the server was not happy we moved because she hardly came to the table. One of the orders was wrong but we kept it.
The food was very disappointing.
Have not gone here in a while but was pleasantly surprised t how nice the place is and good the food was
Food was not very good. Ordered a pasta dish and portions were very small for price.
This visit was a “re-do” on the house for a bad visit several weeks ago.
This was a much better experience, and we enjoyed ourselves. The food here is always very good!
That said, it is the service here that is dicey; we have never been wowed by the level of service; it is always very lackadaisical. Even tonight, no server came to our table even to greet us for a long time; we had to ask the hostess if anyone was assigned to our table, and eventually a server made his way to our table.
Food was not great. Bread tasted old; chicken like rubber. So disappointed as I have eaten at other locations with great results
There is a reason these restaurants are closing fast. The food was less than mediocre the service was slower than molasses. We came in at 6:15ish and the restaurant was not even half filled, it took 10 minutes for us to be greeted, then 20 for the drinks to come. Count another 10-15 for her to come back and take our order, and from there it was an eternity to wait for our food. I a mushroom ravioli dish, the ravioli had sat so long under the heat in expediting that the thicker cream sauce was full on broken down liquid and the ravioli were flat and burnt on the top. Crazy that someone would even serve that to their table. Getting drink refills was ehhhh. I was never offered a wine refill and let me tell you I could have used it after waiting that long. By the time we walked out of the restaurant it was 8:47pm. There was only 5 of us and the restaurant was never filled more than 2/3 capacity. 2 people was $76... I would not even bother, this is just another one that will probably have the doors locked soon.
We love this restaurant! The ambiance, food and service are all outstanding! I highly recommend it.
Put an open table reservation in 20 min before arrival. Table was not ready for us when we arrived. No bread. Apps were delivered timely. Mains were extremely slow. Majority ordered soup and salad. Took over an hour to get a salad and sandwich.
Server was very friendly and energetic. I think the kitchen was sabotaging him.
Server was new - and didn't know much. On op of that She walked out and we had a another little arrogant server who didn't care much
Food was not prepared properly and we were asked to have it re -done but by than our appetite was killed and we were tired of the service we received.
Only the GM who was filling in from another location seemed to care for the guests being served that evening and she re-did one of our meal and that was okay but what difference does that make after your appetite is gone.
The waitress was great however the kitchen and other staff were so slow. Not to busy for a Saturday night. No reason for food to take an hour and not everyone’s food to come together. Not going back.
We had a table of 9 for my birthday. Food was undercooked (chewy pasta) and the service was horrible. They did not tell us that they would be adding 20% tip on the bill, good thing we looked. I guess that is why the service was so bad. She knew she was getting a good tip anyway. The restaurant was practically empty, by the way. Chicken Parma was over cooked. Salad was limp like it had been sitting in the window for a while. Very disappointing birthday lunch experience. Will not return or recommend.
Luckily we went when they were slow and not so busy. The waitress was awesome and very helpful. Food was great (as always) so definitely we were not disappointed.
Slow service, but Valentine's day. Salmon was cold, sent back to be heated up
It was Valentine’s Day. we waited an hour after our reservation to be seated and we were there 10 min prior to our reservation. After waiting another hour, the food was cold when it was served to us. The waiter was polite and apologetic , however, we left and did not eat. Horrible experience will never come here again.
Took my wife her for Valentine’s Day. It took an hour and twenty minutes to get our food. They apparently were short a chef. My wife ordered fettuccine Alfredo , when they brought it it was spaghetti noodles and barley warm. She sent it back and they did not charge us for it, gave her a chicken Cesar salad. This is only the second time we have been here, the first time was really good all around. We would give it another chance.
We typically love Marcaroni Grille. However, during our dining experience on Valentine's evening, it was one of are all-time worst dining experiences
1. When asked for a cocktail containing (finally!) for any cocktail containing Blue Curacao, of all five I requested, the first they had no cream, and after the fifth request, I was informed they had NO Blue curacao.
2. The appetites were outstanding, but were served cold
3. The restaurant was 'out' of one entree' we ordered, so we ordered another one
4. By this time we had been present about 1/2 hours, and we noticed patrons who had been seated quite a while after us, were beginning to received their MEALS (not just appetizers or bread).
5. Speaking of which, the oil used with the bread seemed far more bitter than is typical - even compared to previous visits
6. After another patron who we knew arrived quite a while after we arrived was served dinner, I informed my wife I wanted to pay for our cocktails, tip the waiter, and depart. I then sought out our waiter, and he informed us our ticket had gotten far behind others, and it would be about 20 minutes before the chef received it
THAT'S IT WHEN WE DEPARTED AFTER MORE THAN AN HOUR OF WAITING FOR OUR DINNER
Dinner reservations were made for 6:45. When we arrived we were told there was a twenty minute wait. We asked if all the people that were being seated had reservations and were told they did not. When asked why people without reservations were being seated before no explanation was given. Once seated it took more than 45 minutes to receive our meal. Granted, this was on Valentines Day, but this was over the top.
We have always had good food at RMG, that is not the issue.
The issue is the service, spotty and lackadaisical, at best, a free-for-all at worst! Examples of our “special” Valentine’s Day dinner:
- teenage host who couldn’t decide where to seat us, so we meandered to several tables, all the while he was lamenting how busy he was;
- server who was very nice, but clueless about the bar and food menu, and gave us the wrong bill;
- receiving entrees (which we sent back) before we had ever received our salads;
- bus boy at next table dropped a big bottle of olive oil, so glass and olive oil flew everywhere; what then ensued was 40 minutes of 2 servers and the manager trying to clean up this mess, spreading salt all over the floor, etc. what a goat rodeo! Happy Valentine’s Day to us!
Not in a hurry to return- who needs that rigamarole? There are too many restaurants with much better service.
Nice quiet dining experience. Food was very tasty. Price was moderate. Service was excellent.
We got right in. They were not busy. Waiter was nice and fairly prompt. Food took an extremely long time to come out and was not great.
Terrible experience. They gave away our reservation before the reserved time. We had to wait 15 minutes for them to scalramble to figure it out. It took 1 hour to get our food and another 30 minutes to get some scoops of gelato for the kids. Waitress barely checked on us. The restaurant was not even full! The soup tasted like cardboard. My friends salad was missing onion and had carrots added to it, her kale salad also had NO kale in it. They were out of chocolate cake. My chair punctured my figure where I grabbed it to move my chair into the table. The hostess had a huge attitude!!! The restaurant had at least 6 open tables as we walked thru to the large party section. All this on a Friday night!? The manager did absolutely nothing to try and rectify or resolve any of the above situation. Our 2 families will never go to another macaroni grill!!!!
We had a group of 10, so we expected a little bit of a longer wait for food but service was so slow. It took us almost 3 hours to eat dinner and they were far from busy. There were many empty tables. People were friendly but service extremely slow.
Food distinctly average, many dishes cold/lukewarm, service was very slow, bathrooms were disgusting. Unimpressed.
Flavorful food served straight out of oven. Attentive service.
Food was pretty good but the prices are so much higher than I remember. A salad isn’t even included with the entree!
Ordered a table for 7. Our waitress was very good and very apologetic and attentive to our needs.
We ordered our food and the salads came out except my wife's did not and she had to wait until the rest of us had finished before she got a salad. Dinner took forever to come out over an hours wait. When the dinners did come out again my wife's dinner did not show up. All our group had nearly finished their dinners by the the time my wife's food came out. I complained to the manager who to his credit deducted my wfe's dinner from the bill. I probably will not eat there again due to the very long wait for food.
Love this restaurant. Best dish is the shrimp scampi.
