   When I recieved the bill, one of two main courses was not included, which I mentioned to the what appeared to be, manager. This appeared to cause irritation and annoyance. The bill was calculated and placed in front of me. I then asked if I could leave a tip when she turned to another member of staff to "sort this out" and walked off. My impression was I should have said nothing and paid the initial bill. I then noted on reviewing the bill later that the early bird menu pricing which we used, was not applied to the bill. Won't be returning any time soon.

   I have been coming to Rolys on and off since the mid 1990s and have always considered it one of the best restaurants in Dublin. I came for Easter Sunday lunch with my wife this time to The Terrace and we arrived on time at 1pm but were pretty much ignored by the staff for 15 minutes as we waited to be seated. Once at our table, we were further ignored for another 15 minutes until we had to summon waiting staff to take a drinks order and at the same time we ordered our food. This arrived quickly and was up to the expected high quality. Overall, this visit was disappointing when compared to previous visits and one got the impression from the receiving staff and waiting staff that, as a 2 person party, when compared to the other tables which were all at least 6 or 8 persons, we were an inconvenience. Nevertheless, the food was great as always so that was the redeeming feature. I am not sure that my latest experience would encourage me to return and I fear the almost 30 year old love affair with Rolys may be coming to an end.

   A visit to Roly's is always a pleasure. Good food. fine wine. excellent service. A long-established restaurant, staffed by people who know their job and do it flawlessly.

   Outstanding food. Service not good. Spent 30 minutes trying to get waiters attention for dessert menu. Gave up trying to get a bill and paid on the way out instead

   Had read reviews about the poor service and unfortunately experienced it ourselves. Asked for water, it never came. Our order came out wrong. Tea and coffees were forgotten. Our server just seemed to really not want to be there.. Felt like a lot of young people without much experience, initiative or care. Ate in the terrace, which has a more casual menu, and the food was average. An ok spot for a catch up but wouldn’t be going for the dining experience, it was nothing to write home about - the service really did let it down massively.

   Very lively atmosphere. The food was very good. It was a little loud for some in our group, but the staff very accommodating and welcoming. We sat in the heated terrace, which was nice but under the blower so that was a little warm.  otherwise a very enjoyable experience.

   Disappointing experience. Arrived 5 minutes early which seemed to be problem for very stern receptionist. Did not welcome us or take our name. On booking i had noted this was a birthday celebration. . Dining room was very cold. Requested heat which was then turned off without referring to us. Food order arrived incorrect, very frustrating and again not acknowledged. Noticed some diners had a different menu which we were not offered. We did enjoy the food. However the experience was very disappointing.

    Food is really good. Staff are attentive. There is a lovely ambience. It's good spot for a lovely dining experience.
