The restaurant’s design features a centrally located robata grill that provides the heart of the visual experience, surrounded by contemporary décor and sleek lighting. Guests are encouraged to speak with the chefs about the food to create an interactive and engaging dining experience.

I've been to R A a few times and always had good food. Unfortunately this time both my guest and I were sick after eating there this time :(
Outstanding restaurant. Great food and service. Wait staff are very knowledgeable when recommending choices from a wide menu.

The food was delicious. We sat in the lounge for happy hour. Our waiter was very helpful and had wonderful suggestions.
The whole experience was amazing. I had the cod and it was the best fish dish I have ever had in my life!! And our waiter (I think his name was Caleb) was so friendly and full of knowledge! Ask for him if you can!!! I would love to go back there and recommend it to anyone!!! We also had the Brussels sprouts and those were awesome too!! Overall, 10/10!
One of our ‘go to’ places...always good food and service. However, the changes to happy hour menu, both in prices and food items, are far too frequent.
Server chatted with adjoining table way more than being courteous. Waited 40 min for our appetizers and while he was apologetic blamed it on the printer. And they were only expecting 20people and 90 came in. Really odd. Good service recovery in comping the appetizers but it took a second bill to get that done. Very pricey for good sushi and sake. Would never pay $30 an ounce for wagyu beef. Won’t try here again.

Had an amazing experience the first time I came. I thought it was the best restaurant I had ever been to. I came back with friends and the food was very disappointing. My first visit included a delicious match green tea latte, a wonderful dumpling/spring roll appetizer and a marvelous selection of green tea desserts and a chocolate cake. I came back expecting to order all of the things that I enjoyed so much. All items had been either changed or removed. Servers said they dont make matches green tea lattes, the appetizer looked and tasted different (but was the only option that was remotely close to the one that I had ordered on my first visit), there was only one green tea dessert option and the chocolate cake was also different and very heavy unlike the light and delicious one from my previous visit. Overall it was a very disappointing experience. The food was okay but not even close to the quality of my first visit.

Food was amazing the only thing we didn’t like is how long we had to wait for main entree it was worth the wait they gave extra wine because they acknowledge it took too long our server was great we’ll be back when in Scottsdale.
I've never taken time to rate a dining experience so this is a first for me. Chef Tyson and his cooking team won our praises with unique, delicious dishes and surprisingly generous serving sizes. It was a pleasure to meet him and gain a little insight into his style of cooking. We enjoyed the jumbo scallops, half lobster, and lamb cutlets with a vegetable tempura and spicy sweet potatoe slices as sides. Our lead server, Olivia, and the service crew made us feel like we were their only table, answering all menu questions thoroughly and providing outstanding service. We're already planning our next visit with other friends.
Usually everything is good, but the service was really bad and strange. We ordered wine, one white and one red. They came and we completely different sizes, they tried to fix it, but that did not work. So instead they give us two new ones that were the same and solved the problem. Brussel Sprouts were way to salty, could not eat them. Never came to fill our water.........just not the experience we had previously.........very disappointing.
What a wonderful find for us. The tempura shrimp and vegetables was the best we have ever had. The batter was light, fluffy and there was no grease what so ever. I got their dinner salad which was perfectly fresh and crisp with a wonderful light dressing. For dinner my husband had the ribeye! My dinner was the Chilean Sea Bass! Both dinners were so delicious! The beef was so tender and the fish cooked perfectly. We had dessert which was the creme de pot. It was creamy, smooth and outstanding. Our waiter chose wine for us that we enjoyed. I give this 5 stars! And we will be back next time we are in town!
Fabulous place! The staff (Kenny/Olivia)is awesome, so knowledgeable about the food they serve & their service is excellent! Allow the chefs to treat you with their Omakase. Each dish beautifully prepared and wonderful. They will not disappoint. We come here every time we are in Arizona.
Had a wonderful dinner. Our table opted for the chefs tasting menu. Wonderful dishes, great presentation and our waiter Wesley was fantastic!
We dine here once/month and have never had a bad meal. This is our favorite restaurant!
Fabulous hamachi nigiri and sushi rolls. Our server, Heather, was fabulous. Made you feel like you were a guest in her home. She anticipated needs before we said anything. Her sushi roll recommendations was spot on. We’ve had wonderful sushi in Cabo & San Fran & this ranks as good or better. We sat at the raw bar & watching the chefs was entertaining & they were charming as well.
This is our very favorite place to enjoy dinner. Management, service, food and decor. It can be noisy at times.
But the food makes up for it all. Steaks are better than most high end steakhouses. The Black Cod is on par with Nobu.
Then there is the Pork Belly, bone marrow, and Hamachi Collar.It goes on and on. John is the waiter to ask for.
Food was great but it is so loud in the restaurant that a conversation can barely be carried on at the table.
My husband and I come here every time we are in Scottsdale. Love the food and the staff.

Food was good, but they tried to talk us out of coming at 8:45? Expensive and small portions. They weren't that busy.
Miso soup very salty. Soy sauce very salty. I should have asked for low sodium but have not had to do that at other restaurants. With reservation was given a table in the middle even though plenty of tables better located were open. Shusi was excellent but would not go again since they were out of Shapiro beer and service was average.
Excellent over all, but don't expect dessert to knock your socks off. My wife and I chose to "omakase" or "entrust the chef" and were not disappointed. Fantastic lobster tempura and pork belly were our high points.
This is one of our favorites. Best brussel sprouts ever tasted. Tiger prawn chilean sea bass mussels calamari delish!!!
Overall good food, but not spectacular. The sushi is very amateurish (the wasabi is supposed to be a subtle taste not a dollop that burns). Overpriced.
Everything was 5star! Brad was one of the most knowledgeable and fun servers I’ve had the pleasure to meet!
Salmon was outstanding. Did not care for the strip steak, very fatty. Edemame and miso soup good but very small portions. Good attentive waiter. They neglected to tell us food came out as prepared so our sides came out at least 5 min before the entree. Also, the entrees for 4 of us came out at different times. I did love the roasted corn side. The whole dinner was pricey.
We thoroughly enjoyed our great food!!! My husband had the ribs and said they were the best ha had ever eaten! I had the salmon , delicious! My son and daughter - in - law also were very impressed wit the saki and their dinners! We will be back soon!

Wonderful experience at Roka Akor. Every food item was delicious, from the Miso Soup and Tofu Appetizer, to the sea bass, cod, and filet, to the sushi and vegetable sides. We loved the mushroom hot pot! The wine list has a lot of variety at broad price points, and everyone particularly enjoyed their cocktails. Also a large selection of Japanese whiskey. Service was virtually perfect- well timed and attentive without being overwhelming. There was a big group seated next to us and the noise from their party detracted slightly from our experience, yet the tables are far enough apart that we were able to have conversation. I had not been to Roka Akor for a while and was very happy with the experience.
