Usually on point, but the service was awful and my steak, which was supposed to be medium, was well done and overcooked. I asked for the main course to come after we had finished our appetizers. It.showed up before the apps. Overall a massively disappointing experience.

Roka Akor never fails to please. We took our daughter and grandaughter for the first time and my grandaughter had a smile on her face right after she tasted the first course unti we left the restaurant. Roka Akor is superb.

We’ve been here before and it was fabulous. That was not our experience this time. We had a reservation but hostess said they had no table for us and offered us either sushi counter or bar. We sat in the bar area at a tiny table that your legs couldn’t fit under so you had to sit sideways. Service was extremely slow. 20 min before someone came to table and asked for drink order. Server was friendly, but must have been spread thin because we didn’t see her often and it took a really long time for our food. Food was delicious. But not the experience I expect when I go to a nice restaurant like this. Very unhappy and would not recommend. Mostly unhappy about not having a table for us. Hostess said they were overbooked. Why allow reservations?

Roka never disappoints and once again delivered in every way. The food is flavorful and reasonably priced. Tonight the restaurant was a little louder than normal but that can’t be helped. We could still hold a conversation at our table.

One of the most consistently great restaurants in the Phoenix-Scottsdale area. The food is outstanding with enough choices for every tastes. The service is friendly and attentive. Be prepared, however, for a noise level which can be disruptive.

We have a lot of experience with fine Dining. Unfortunately after sushi Roku closed this year we decided to try Roka Akor. Omg let me tell you, I ordered OTORO highest grade sashimi over 100 dollars And it was given frozen as a block. Secondly, ordered flank wagyu for my daughter and it was a rubbery steak. Finally the worst thing is a saw one of the CHEF blow his nose on the food line and he did not Wash his hands and he continued working with his hands on the food line. I was disgusted. Oh I forgot they had a hair on my sons food so we got that waived. Just plain bad do not go there as there is hygiene issues.

Tried the omikase and it was perfect. Just the right amount of food and delicious in every sense. Wesley was a perfect server from knowledge of the meal to timing of return to table for drinks and questions. Servers and other waitstaff were on point at all times and extremely respectful.

Parent’s Night Out & Date Night! We could not have asked for a better evening. Started at the bar with some amazing drinks and an amazing staff behind the bar. We then sat on the patio and Marcus and the rest of the staff were superb. He walked us through a multi-course dinner that started with apps, then oysters and a tuna flight, then rolls and mains. The food, drinks, staff, and environment never disappoint. We absolutely love this spot when we are on this side of town. Highly, highly recommend!

This was our first time at Roka Akor and it was incredible! Our server, Naz, was everything you could ask for in dining. He guided us, made recommendations and checked in frequently. The food was definitely a five star dining experience. We’ll be back, soon.

We enjoy Roma Akor. My friend and I love sushi, our wives not so much. So whenever this couple is in town we dine there. It’s usually 5 stars all the way across. Last night was just a little off - service was clunky and the food a little ordinary. All very good but not up to our expectations.

Great food except for the sushi. It was standard. But the seafood, the steaks, and all the appetizers were amazing. Great service. Chairs need replacing. The cushions are a bit saggy and uncomfortable. Would return again.

Server was ok.. maybe checked on us every 30 minutes and walked past our table multiple times with our drinks empty. Ordered the filet, which was very sub par quality. Chewing through it felt like a sirloin. Overall C grade experience.

Can never say enough good things about this “joint!” It’s now and will always be my go to Japanese restaurant in Scottsdale. Anyone going there be sure and get the REAL wasabi - it’s the real deal.

We came to Roka Akor several months ago and got the tasting menu and everything was delicious— the sashimi was fresh and tender, the Wagyu steak was melt-in-your-mouth good. This time around, the sashimi was chewy and tasted fishy, and the Wagyu steak was so chewy I basically had to swallow it whole. We were very disappointed. I’m not sure if this restaurant is hit-or-miss, or if their overall quality of fish and meat has just gone downhill.

We LOVED this restaurant. They exceeded our expectations. We tried their Omasake $145 meal where we were able sample the menu, definitely recommend this for first timers. Our favorites from the meal were the tempura lobster and their dessert sampler. Everything was amazing and the staff were equally as amazing! Can’t say enough good things about this place! definitely will be back.

We would prefer more sashimi and sushi. There are two veggies courses, one is grilled jalapeño, the other is grilled eggplants which are pretty good. There are two meat courses, pork belly and rare steak. One lobster tempura and one black cod with mushrooms. The sashimi course is good as wells as the four oysters. The dessert is excellent.
