Wonderful dining experience, our server Bradley was phenomenal. We would definitely go back!
Best overall dining experience we've had since moving here 6 months ago. Top quality ingredients and execution from back of the house all the way to the front door! Can't wait to go back and explore the menu further.
Its always excellent. Try the Guinea Hen for your main course.
Black Cod is another winner.
Roka never disappoints! We come to town every few months for work and we never miss a chance to eat here.
Nice entrance to the restaurant and decor. The staff was very accommodating and the service was consistently good. They have table tops, regular tables, or lounge seating with comfy couches perfect for a date or chill dinner. They have plenty of drinks to choose from whether you’re into cocktails, sake, wine, or champagne. We tried a variety of food and each dish was pleasing. My favorite order was the prawn sushi roll - a must have if you enjoy sushi. Besides that you can’t really go wrong trying out anything on the menu - note: it is ala carte so be sure you go with someone you can share sides with or doesn’t mind trying different dishes with you. Lastly, I love that they bring a well presented dish or fresh fruit and sorbet for birthdays along with a hand written card from the restaurant. Nice personal touch! Check out the photos to see.
The service is just never good. Never. I am not sure why we keep coming back. Food is always amazing so I guess that’s why! Freshest seafood for sure!
Food was good but not exceptional; the vibe was just not right. People in T-shirts and jeans, then others dressed up. I was expecting something equivalent to Zuma or Hakkasan in London/Dubai but it’s honestly not even close to being that chic.
Excellent service. A bit overpriced to be honest. Food was good but not that good to justify the prices. I’ve been to better. Most likely won’t be back when there are so many other restaurants in Scottsdale that are a lot better.
Chairs are uncomfortable and menu is limited not a lot of sushi rolls m. Tempura has no taste
This place runs like race horses! The food is descent & atmosphere is very nice, cost factor is higher end. It loses its appeal when the servers the waiters and the staff are running around you, the place was only half full and not very late when we ate. The focus was to up sell and move you out, 45 minutes appetizers & meal. My suggestion is go elsewhere unless you need to be seen.
One of our favorite restaurants in Scottsdale. The food is consistently great and the atmosphere is energetic. Great service also.
Our evening dinner at the Roka Akor Scottsdale was a great experience. The interior is inviting, the staff knowledgable and friendly. The food was outstanding! Our blueberry tart that we had for desert was heavenly. We tried the imported beers and cocktails all of which were fantastic. We can't wait to dine there again.
My experience wasn't great and it wasn't terrible. The food wasn't as good as I expected it to be for the prices on the menu. We ordered off the Restaurant Week menu. I started Tuna Tataki was delicious. The entre of Wagyu Strip was very chewy but the flavor was great. The dessert of a blonde brownie was... well... weird. The texture was just off with the brownie (dry) and the ice cream was gritty. The service was excellent! Our server answered our questions and was very pleasant. We sat on the patio and it was a bit stagnant because there are no fans to circulate the air. It was also a little noisy from the street traffic off Scottsdale Road. I would like to give it a second chance and eat off the regular menu and sit inside next time.
When Paul is away everything drops off. Surely the chef knows the words " medium rare"?????We don't expect to send an overcooked fish back and wait 1/2 hour for it to come back while I eat my steak.
Went for restaurant week and the service was amazing! Friendly, knowledgeable waitress, and fantastic sushi, really enjoyed the yellowfin tuna. The crispy brussel sprouts were well seasoned and the mushroom hot pot of rice was well done. The pork ribs are a must! The wagyu tasted like regular steak, just sliced into strips. The chocolate lava cake was warm and decadent, however the vanilla ice cream had an interesting thick cake like texture, and did not have much of a flavor. Overall, highly recommend!
My husband and I came here for restaurant week and it was fabulous. They offer happy hour daily from 4-7 (I think). Beautiful ambiance and nice staff. Can't wait to go back again!
Modern vibe. Outstanding fresh food. Great food presentation. Have to try the Waygu. Very knowledgeable wait staff. Perfect place for important celebration, date or business meeting
Always the best
It was our first visit to Roka Akor and we came for Restaurant Week as a way to try it out. We began at the bar for a cocktail and as it was Happy Hour, we enjoyed an appetizer first. The bartenders we so nice and when we moved to our table, our server was so attentive and friendly. We had a terrific meal and were not disappointed. We are so glad to have discovered this restaurant for ourselves and will definitely be coming more often!
Leave room for their chocolate dessert, it was amazing!
Simple yet elegant presentation of food. Food was excellent! The Restaurant Week food size was perfect for us😀. My husband and i really enjoyed it! Thank you for the wonderful dinner! It’s just sad we weren’t able to reserve a regular table because the bar was the only available place at that time and day☹️ The bar was a little noisy, chef yelling out whenever food is ready for the server to pickup😞 But the table at the bar is decent size, it’s deep enough for all your food. Service was excellent though😀 We already recommended your restaurant to our friends and family.
Wonderful as always...food, service is top notch
Excellent fish. Service
From the food to the atmosphere, everything is perfect
Food was excellent and somewhat unique. Very enjoyable evening.
Best mushrooms we’ve ever had! Ribs are outstanding and street corn is delicious! Sea bass was very good and a good wine selection. Great date restaurant. Will go back soon for sushi and other yummy looking items offered on menu!
Excellent restaurant. The only place I would eat sushi in the desert. Paul, the General Manager has put together an excellent staff of chefs, servers and bartenders making this an excellent restaurant in Scottsdale, AZ.
First time and will absolutely go back. Amazing food and service
LOVE the Food. Service is great. Nice atmosphere.
Portions were smaller then expected but overall very tasty!
Best food and service of our trip to Scottsdale. We went back again the next night and equally delicious and fabulous service from Megan. Highly recommend!
It really is perfect in so many ways. Love the pork belly, Wagyu Tartare and Lobster Tempera.
Server and helper were fantastic. Every item we ordered was outstanding in flavor and presentation. We will be back!
Excellent food, recommend the pork belly appetizer and the veggie dumplings. The black cod was cooked to perfection and the sauces were exquisite. Would have rated a 5, but, no valet parking and the parking lot is out back by the dumpsters... yuck. And there were no paper towels in the men's room. eww.
What an experience. I will come back
Fantastic dinner as usual and impeccable service with Wesley! He really knows customer service and you should be proud to have him on your staff! Simply amazing!!!
Awesome! Bartender was attentive and knowledgeable.
Consistently excellent food, very good service, a bit pricey but you get a quality meal.
Enjoyed dinner, however there are better options for the cost - both from a food standpoint as well as service. Dropping this kind of money should come with a prerequisite for service; however, aside from the server, the attention to the table was poor. Food was good but extremely overpriced. Again, there are better options for the cost.
Roka Akor is one of the best restaurants in Scottsdale. The food is so fresh, delicious, and creative. The sauces are light and balanced. The Tuna and Butterfish Tataki are so amazing that I could make that my whole meal. I had the Fried Tofu with Micro Greens as my main course during this visit and it was flash fired perfectly. The Black Cod is also phenomenal. The Shishito Peppers are also a must have as an appetizer. I am not a meat eater but several other people at dinner had the Wagyu Beef and said it was well marbled, tender, and had a buttery soft flavor. The atmosphere is lively, energetic and the service is on point!
