Loved the interior design and architecture inside Roka Akor, there's a dramatic concrete/wood entranceway and they have a gorgeous dining area that is airy with lots of wood.

Our dishes were all delicious. We both shared the tempura shrimp, which was surprisingly large at a good price. Loved the slightly spicy dipping sauce and the tempura was perfectly crispy with fresh tiger shrimp.

I ordered the Chirashi ($22) and my colleague ordered the snow crab roll. We both loved our dishes. I thought mine had generous portions of fish and it was all buttery soft on a nice bed of rice with some salmon roe.

It was difficult to get the attention of the servers, and that's one area that could've been improved in the experience, but I'd definitely give it another try in the evening.

Every item was delicious! We ordered sushi, spicy edamame, brussel sprouts and cod entree. Very fresh and beautiful presentation. Will definitely go back and recommend to others.

One of the most innovative, & creative Japanese + Steak dishes in the city. The food was insanely good! Can get expensive so would recommend for special occasions.

We had an excellent dinner at this restaurant the night before and decided to return for lunch the next day. The same hostess was again, very friendly and welcoming. We were seated at the sushi bar with comfortable chairs and an opened and airy bustling kitchen. We chose from the enticing restaurant week menu. Waiter waited on us right away. I began my meal with the Mizuna Salad with grapefruit, lotus root chips, white asparagus and avocado. I enjoyed all the flavors in this salad...very refreshing and well balanced. Since Roka Akor is a steakhouse, my next course would be the New York Steak with sautéed Japanese mushrooms...well seared, cooked perfectly, char on the outside and moist on the inside...well flavored, tender and scrumptious! My husband started his meal with the Escolar Tataki with white asparagus and yuzu. The Escolar Tataki was very fresh and tasty and was a great choice. He also had the New York Steak. The lunch meal includes Miso Soup and Steamed Rice. I enjoyed their German Reisling so much the night before that I had another glass. Wait staff and servers were very helpful and efficient. They complemented each other. Good quality of food and great atmosphere led to a satisfying dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant.

My bf and I came here during SF Restaurant Week.

While the other dishes that were part of the set menu were good, the wagyu sirloin and bone marrow stole the spotlight. We'd absolutely come back for this dish again!

Tip for next year's Restaurant Week: If you can't snag a reservation, the Restaurant Week menu is available not only in their main dining room but also in their bar/ lounge area.

Had dinner during Restaurant Week. Dinner menu is very enticing. 4 course menu for $65. Hostess at the door was very warm and friendly. Led us into a beautiful spacious well lit dining room with great atmosphere and a bustling opened kitchen. I ordered the yellowtail sashimi with shallots and poached garlic ponzu...good, but a little fishy. Yuzu miso marinated black cod wrapped in a Japanese Magnolia leaf is flavorful, flaky, and moist and beautifully presented. Next course came the Chef Choice of five piece assorted sashimi, which includes octopus, tuna, salmon and two other types of Hamachi fish and these were tasty and presented nicely. My husband had the wagyu sirloin with grilled bone marrow and spicy sweet garlic soy. The wagyu was seared well on the outside, juicy and moist on the inside and delicious; the marrow was very rich. Both of us had the warm valrhona chocolate cake with almond caramel and vanilla ice cream. The caramel was too sweet for my taste. What I favored was the glass of German Reisling (Schloss Schonborn, Kabinett, Erbacher, Marcobrunn, Rheingau, Germany 2003). It has a mild taste of sweetness and was a perfect pairing to my yuzu miso marinated black cod. Service was well-timed and attentive. Comfortable chairs, great food, bustling at times and great people watching. We had a great experience and we will be back!

Went for SF restaurant week. The sashimi, wagyu beef, and bone marrow was exceptional. It’s expensive so I would only go for special occasions but the restaurant week deal was worth it. Also, happy hour only applies to the downstairs bar, even if it’s the same drinks. Got free champagne for our anniversary.
