Everything was wonderful. The servers were friendly and knowledgeable, and service was well paced without being rushed. It was a very enjoyable experience, and I would recommend it highly.
IT WAS AMAZING!!!!
Nice service and good food. Clean
Food and wine were absolutely excellent but service wasn’t good.
Food and service was excellent. Always enjoy my experience at Roka Akor.
Nothing to do compared with the Houston Roka.
Great place for a family get together. We enjoyed the variety of cuisine. Sophisticated but not stuffy. Recommended.
My favorite restaurant in SF. It’s expensive but the food is really good.
Very disappointed in our lunch. Over powerful garlic on sashimi hamachi; miso soup was not edible (tasted like bad fish), Heirlooms salad used too mush of tomatoes. Lobster roll was bland.
The filet steak was good and the best thing I ordered. Possibly an off day, but what a disappointing experience all around.
For most of the lunch the music was so loud, I had difficulty hearing my colleague. He also drove quite a far distance for this forgettable experience.
This might have well been the best restaurant I’ve ever visited and I’m 53 and have lived in SF for 30 years!!
Flames, really no other way to describe it. Big fire.
Surpassed my expectations. Will be back the next time I’m in SF.
Best Japanese food in the Bay Area. Not cheap but always excellant
Decided to go here over on the restaurants for a birthday Celebration excellent decision
Not bad but quite overpriced for what you get. I don't plan on coming back.
I don’t think I’ve ever had a dish here I didn’t like. Food is always outstanding and service is always on point. It will get a little pricey if you come in very hungry, and only knock on the place is that it gets pretty noisy.
Wonderful first time experience, defintiely on our “go-to” list of restaurants in SF!
This review pertains to their set lunch menu. It's a great deal...portions are perfect and service excellent.
Delicious food and great service!!
Hugely overrated online
Food below average
Black cod was dry and fleshy!
Unrecommened and won’t be going back
The food was wonderful. We enjoyed everything. Thank you
I eat here frequently and Roka Akor is clearly expensive but truly outstanding
The best! I love Roka Akor. One of my favorite resturaunts.
Wonderful dinner here with friends and family the night before heading to see Hamilton. We really enjoyed the variety on the menu and we had a bit of everything. Highlights were: Lobster dumplings, corn, uni, chefs nigiri sampling and Japanese Wagyu. I got 3oz of the lowest grade offering on the menu and it was absolutely amazing. I could have eaten a 5 times as much but the stuff isn't cheap; however well worth the splurge if you're a steak fan.
Second visit...Great Food and Ambiance!!!
Birthday Dinner with Family! Always amazing!
Excellent food -delicious and and fresh. Miso soup served at perfectly hot temperature. Service could be better but overall experience was great. Food taste and quality will bring me back.
I recommend the Chef selection with sake pairing. It’s an amazing experience.
Amazing food, great quality! Service was spot on., would highly recommend.
Food was amazing! Downstairs ambience was more fun and casual. Definitely would recommend
I had such a great experience here! The service was amazing and the food was delicious. I would recommend anyone to go here for any occasion really!
Very tasty send off lunch for a revered colleague. The private room was especially nice and unexpected!
Yummeez to my tumeez.............................!
Great presentation of the Chef preparred menu. I really enjoyed it.
Food was excellent! Absolutely loved the omakase. Wonderful experience.
bar service staff downstairs were great! Friendly, knowledgeable, good service and great drinks. The food service and staff upstairs in the main dinning room were awful. The server was not knowledgeable or very professional for a restaurant of this caliber. Our party of 5 all ordered the 5 course meal. The main course A4 wagyu was over cooked. We ordered medium rare. Over 70% was well done. We informed our waiter. He took it back to have it replaced. The manager brought it back to our table and stated that this is the way we cook our beef. Left it on the table and walked away. The server returned and asked us if everything was now okay? We said no I. We were not happy with the beef. It is over cooked. We asked to see the manager.. The manager said that he would not replace the beef but would give us 3 ounces of beef cooked as we requested. The new order of beef was medium rare as requested. The server said that he agreed with us that the new order was medium rare. The manager returned and asked if this was satisfactory? We said yes.
However I told the manager that I did not like the way he spoke to us, nor did I appreciate that he was trying to force us to accept a product that was not what we ordered simply due to either a mistake in the kitchen or from our waiter when placing the order. i also informed him that if he was having a bad night for him not to take it out on his guest.
I informed him that we also ordered the steak tartar and A5 - 6 oz which never made it to the table. I told the manager that I wanted to make sure that we did not get charged for it. The manager said that we did not order it. I told him that he should check with our waiter because we did. The manager confirmed that we did indeed order the two items that never made it to our table. He took off one of the beef items, one of the two bottles of wine, gave us an after dinner port to make up for the mistakes, but the damage had already been done. very unhappy customers
Service was excellent and James was not only knowledgeable but very hospitable.
Birthday celebration (complimentary glasses of champaign for the table...thank you!) and second time dining at Roka Akor. Ordered the Omakase which is truly an experience and worth every dollar. It's five courses of sampling the best of the menu. I can't imagine anything on the menu as being mediocre. It's an experience that leaves one completely satiated. Each course builds up to the next one and leaves a glorious explosion of taste that is like none other. Pair that with impeccable service and it's an experience and night to remember.
A great place for a client lunch. Great service and reliably good food.
Food and service were fantastic. Noise level quite high...difficulty hearing my table guests
